White Onlinechapter 587: the tournament of champions - first round (13)

''Heeeah!'' King Arawn swung his axe, and cut straight through a golden column. Lord Amour appeared behind him, and swung the crimson-bladed axe towards his open nape.

King Arawn's ears perked up. He heard the wind whistling behind him. He quickly ducked while the crimson-bladed axe broke the rest of the column.

The column fell apart, causing half of the temple to crash down. Afterward, a thick dust cloud enveloped the arena. The screens, and the audience couldn't see the two silhouettes anymore.

Inside the dust, King Arawn carefully moved forward. While looking around, he thought he saw shadows moving under the dust. However, after slicing through the dust with his axe, there was no one there.

Lord Amour jumped through the dust, and saw confused King Arawn looking around. His mouth stretched into a smile as he swung his axe down.

Arawn jumped out of the way as he felt something approaching. However, the crimson-bladed axe stopped before touching the ground, and moved towards the left, slicing straight through Arawn's shoulder.

''Argh!'' Arawn's grunt echoed in the arena. As he looked back at his assailant, he couldn't see anyone. The dust blocked his sight. As he gritted his teeth in annoyance, he spun the axe around him with his nimble fingers.

Slowly, he blew the dust away from him, freeing the temple from the layers of dust. Once again, the screens, and the audience, could see the two men.

Amour lunged forward and swung his axe. Each swing cut through the air, and barely missed Arawn.

Arawn weaved through the axe strikes, and countered with a precise slash towards Amour's legs. However, he jumped over his axe, and continued swinging his crimson-colored axe.

''Argh!'' King Arawn swung his axe, blocked all the crimson-colored axe's strikes. As the sparks flew, coloring the atmosphere, he was still getting pushed further back.

In the afar viewing room, God Ares watched with a smirk as his legacy carrier was winning.

The audience, and everyone watching from the Four Seasons realized that the tide of the fight had again changed. At first, it was King Arawn's show. Now, Lord Amour showed why he was Undefeated!

''Godly Army!'' Lord Amour screamed, and ten illusionary figures appeared beside him. Soon, they started looking exactly like him. A seconds later, they all held similar crimson-colored axes.

''Whoo!'' King Arawn grabbed his axe's wooden handle tighter, ''Bring it on!''

''Haaaaaaaa!'' Lord Amour's voice echoed from each illusionary figure. It was impossible to see who was real. However, as soon as they started moving, it started to become real. Only the middle one moved differently, while the other illusions ran in a straight line.

King Arawn ignored all the running figures, and smashed his axe straight at the real Amour. Their axes again collided, the impact rocked the ground, and killed the illusions.

''Your illusions aren't very good!'' King Arawn shouted while moving a step back, and swinging his axe in a reckless manner. From above, side, below, he swung the axe from each angle. However, Amour blocked each strike with nimble, and precise movement.

It was like the crimson-colored blade was another limb of his.

''I know, but their purpose was just to distract you.'' Amour grinned, while Arawn's eyes widened in shock. A sharp blade drilled through his waist. Behind him, another Amour appeared, holding the knife. However, his face was obscured and slightly disfigured.

''I can create illusions that can attack. However, their movement is rough, and I still can't make them look like me. However, they are good at sneak attacks.''

''D-Damn it...'' Arawn chuckled with self-mocking.

The audience erupted in cheers.

At the gathering of Arawn's relatives.

It was dead silent. They watched with nervous hearts. It felt like their hearts might burst out of nervousness.

Arawn's father silently watched the screen while his aged eyes started turning misty. A long time ago, his son was always helping him with their farm work. He hurt his back at his previous work, and was half-handicapped.

Most of the Lord, and King title owners were rich, with their own companies. Arawn's family was a below-average income family. They managed to get Arawn as a beta tester because one of their relatives worked for Legacy Company.

It wouldn't be easy for her to convince Arthur to let Arawn participate. However, surprisingly, Arthur said alright without a second thought.

'Win...' His father clenched his fist.

In the arena, the atmosphere heated as Lord Amour started his rampage. With each axe swing, Arawn's posture fell apart, and more cuts started appearing in his muscular body.

Reddish cuts appeared on the air as Amour continued swinging his axe with unbelievable speed. The blade looked blurry as he slashed from above, left, right, below, and middle.

Arawn barely managed to block the strikes with his one-handed axe. However, some of the attacks sliced through his armor, made of durable bear fur. His Health Bar slowly decreased.

''Amour, Amour, Amour!'' The audience chanted the Undefeated Lord's name. The ceiling shook as their thunderous shouts reached the faraway starry sky.

''It's over.'' God Zeus said while crossing his arms, ''If this is all they have, I am disappointed.''

God Shiva rubbed his chin with narrowed eyes, ''This is the peak of humanity... This is not enough.''

''Damn...'' God Zeus clicked his tongue. An idea rose in his mind. However, it would cause millions of casualties. Their duty was to keep everyone safe. However, at this rate, there was a choice between killing a few million or saving billions.

''Oh!'' However, at that moment, audience's shocked exclamations reached their ears.

''What the heck...'' God Shiva's eyebrows jumped.

''What is it?'' God Zeus whipped his head around, and saw the current scene in the arena. A shock arose in his eyes.

''Haah... haaah...'' Lord Amour panted heavily while coughing blood, ''Y-You... reserved this much strength?''

King Arawn slowly stood up from the ground. His blade was stained with crimson blood. A red flames oozed out of his body. However, the flames didn't hurt him. His aura grew stronger, and stronger, causing the atmosphere to feel heavy.

Tossing his axe away, Arawn screamed, and shouted, ''SPARTAN RAGE!''
