"Who are you? Take off your mask!" Lynch's enraged voice soared across the hall and landed on Isaac's ears.
Isaac stared at Lynch with a cold look in his eyes. A cold chill swept through Lynch's back, making him sit back down, cold sweat gushing from his forehead.
His bodyguards rushed to his side. As 200-leveled NPCs pulled their weapons from their sheathes, they fought off the pressure.
"WEAPONS AREN'T ALLOWED HERE!" The auctioneer's powerful shout caused the bodyguards to crash to the floor. Due to the heavy pressure, their heads got further buried beneath the floor, and their pupils slowly turned white.
The bodyguards collapsed, their bodies limp, their mouths tightly shut, and their foreheads drenched in blood.
Lynch looked toward the auctioneer with a shocked look, mouth wide-open, and pupils shrunk, 'My father's treasured NPC bodyguards were beaten down by aura alone?!'
'Who is this auctioneer?! He isn't ordinary!'
"Hmph." The auctioneer flicked his sleeves and shouted, "Current bid, one million. Going once, going twice…"
"1.1 million!" Lynch immediately shouted back.
The hall erupted in a frenzy. Neither the players nor the NPCs could contain their shock when they saw the two players. Their bids only just began, and now the highest bid item for today may be revealed!
"1.2 million!" Isaac instantly quipped back with no visible emotion visible in his body. People stared at the mask, wondering what type of face was underneath.
"1.3 million!" Lynch shouted furiously as he dug his finger into his palm without caring that his skin might rupture.
"1.4 million!" Isaac shouted back. The players seated around him looked at him like he was the incarnation of God.
Because they didn't fight Lynch, they were delighted that someone did. Though they felt very satisfied, they did not believe that Isaac would win.
Lynch had shown his limitless wealth.
Slam!
Lynch struck the armrest, which was slightly cracked as a result of the strength of his punch. The butler gulped and sneakily notified his master that his son was about to lose control.
"1.5 million!" Lynch's hand trembled as he shouted. The heartbeat was pounding, adrenaline was coursing through his veins, and the blood vessels protruded as his fists crackled slightly.
The players were absolutely shocked at such an astronomical sum. Even though the amount was actually not that much in the eyes of the wealthy in real-life.
The White Online was vastly different. The wealthy weren't even nearly as wealthy as the real-life ones.
There are not many White Coins the players have accumulated yet, and only recently have they learned about their importance.
The richest player might have only around 10 million, while the Top Guilds might be closing in on 20 million mark.
That makes 1 million incredibly valuable in everyone's eyes.
The 1.5 million was already way above Lynch's own wealth. After all, he had spent a lot of money on the previous items. His limit was getting closer, and even though he was in a state of rage, he wasn't stupid.
The auctioneer's gaze went over the players and landed on Isaac. The reflected white of the mask was visible in his black eyes, and the contour of his mouth was slightly upward.
"1.6 million!"
"Argh!" Lynch grabbed his chest, and the feeling of his heart beating rapidly made him light-headed.
"Y-Young master, maybe we should stop." The butler tried to make him stop. However, Lynch only slapped his worries away and gritted his teeth with hateful words seeping through.
"No… I will win this!"
"1.8 million!" Lynch's shout silenced the whole hall. The Players widened their eyes in shock, and the NPCs covered their mouths in shock.
The amount of money was simply way above what the assumed perfume was worth.
The dark-haired man looked at his ex-girlfriend, "And you think I could have afforded it?"
His ex-girlfriend shakily turned around to look at him, "I-I am sorry."
"Fuck you."
Outside the auction hall.
"Hmm, what is this ruckus?" A silver-haired man came from downstairs and asked the Guards.
The Guards saluted and said, "A bidding war is happening!"
"Oh, how much?"
The Guards looked at each other and gulped.
"1.8 million!"
"Ptui!" The silver-haired man spat out his drink and asked while wiping his lips, "It's already time for the last item? I thought it should take half an hour more.
"No, sir, it's the 56th item!"
"WHAT?!" The silver-haired man exclaimed, "It's just oil. Why is it being sold out for so much?"
"Maybe… We mistook its importance? Is it actually heavenly treasure?!'
"N-No, sir." The Guards shook their heads, "I-I think it's simply a matter of pride and arrogance."
"Hmm?" The silver-haired man looked interested. He stepped inside the open doors and saw two men standing up with shocked-looking players watching the scene with turmoiled emotions.
The auctioneer raised his head and was shocked to see the silver-haired man.
The silver-haired man spread his arms around, basically asking what the hell was happening.
"Haahhh…" The auctioneer scratched his head, and pointed at Lynch, then shook his head. Then, he pointed at Isaac and gave thumbs up.
"Ah… I see." The silver-haired man nodded. He crossed his arms and leaned on the wall. Since his interest was piqued, he decided to see this till the end.
"Haahhh… Haahhh… Come on… Come on!" Lynch's body was trembling as he kept taunting the thoughtful Isaac.
Isaac tapped the floor impatiently. No one knew what he was thinking except the silver-haired man.
'Hmm… He is thinking is it a better choice to bid less or more… The less could be a safe choice, while more is riskier, but it has better rewards.'
'Adding more could be a statement that told he had money to spare… However, that wasn't obviously the case. If he is thinking this hard, he doesn't have a lot left.'
'Bidding less in this situation could be a worse situation… That other guy might nail the coffin shut in the next turn if he has money…'
'In this situation… I would show who is in control in this situation!'
Isaac raised his head and shouted, "2 million!"
The hall went silent, and even hairpin falling could be heard.
The silver-haired man smiled and nodded, 'Checkmate…'
