Rise of The Anti God (Web Novel)chapter 690: near death

With collective efforts from Damien and the others, they wiped out 30% more, but there were still 45% more to kill.

Damien wished he was at his peak, then, they could have still stood a chance against the rest, but now that Lily's ball of light was fading into oblivion, he saw that the Xeton army was getting back into shape.

Lily seemed very exhausted after maintaining something that powerful for a while. Elor, Irene, and Leon also seemed to be reaching their limits, especially since they had used their ethereal manifestations to absorb a lot of attacks while dishing out attacks as well.

Yuria also was running out of breath after trying to control so many Spirit Weapons at the same time. If anybody else knew what she did, they would wonder how her nerves didn't burst from straining and splitting up her ethereal energy like this.

Reva's Barrier of Doom was forming cracks all over it, and it seemed that Reva was experiencing fatigue as well after manipulating space all this while.

All of them were not in good shape, just like him, and it only made Damien feel even tenser while trying to fight his way out.

The men were surrounding him from every side, and all Damien could do was use his sword will and the power of the Crimson Death to deal with them.

Every second he would be dealing with at least five men attacking him at the same time. And each time, he would skillfully maneuver and use his free hand to use one of them as a human shield while cutting down others.

But even this method was getting old since too many of them were surrounding them, and there was no way he could defend against all of their attacks.

It seemed they had sent a lot of men as cannon fodder towards him to weaken him first so that they could jump in later and deal serious damage.

'I can't fall here!' Damien gritted his teeth as he tried to fight off these commanders, who were also getting supported by their men.

There were five commanders, and all of them were in the Peak Level of the Profound Ethereal Realm. Dealing with them was definitely not as easy as those in the Low Levels of the Profound Ethereal Realm, especially now that he was too tired and injured. It was only his body's iron-like resilience that was saving him.

Damien inwardly cursed Ruthen for making them too powerful, even if they would probably die the next day.

"Urgh!" Damien grimaced as one of the commanders left a huge laceration on his back.

"Damien!" Lily, Yuria, and Reva were shaken to sense their husband getting hurt badly. They couldn't even see him from afar since a good portion of the army was surrounding him, and all they could see was the dark light of the crimson miasma emanating from Damien's sword.

They immediately tried to use whatever ethereal energy they had to direct their attack toward the men surrounding Damien to help him but right at that time, they saw multiple ethereal formation attacks raining down on them, leaving them no choice but to defend against them.

There were still over 700,000 men left in the Xeton Army. Most of their individual cultivations were actually nothing for Damien and the others. But because of their exemplary use of ethereal formations to shield themselves while attacking at the same time was what made it so hard to deal with them.

This was the very reason why even the strongest cultivators wouldn't dare to mess with a king or emperor who had a powerful and well-trained army. Even if they were stronger than the king or the emperor, they still wouldn't cross the line.

Of course, if they heard Damien managed to wipe out an army of 500,000 earlier, it would surely make anyone collapse from disbelief and shock.

But right now, Damien and the six of them weren't exactly in the mood to celebrate this fact.

"Just die!" Damien roared as he plunged his sword into the chest of one of the commanders as streaks of blood were tricklings down his face.

Damien was barely holding himself against these four commanders, and the biggest problem was not them but the side effects of Undying Wrath.

He felt like his organs were literally melting bit by bit with each second as blood was flooding into his mouth due to internal bleeding.

The spine-chilling jet-black aura emanating from his body was starting to wane and flicker. His bones were beginning to sustain hair-line fractures while his muscle fibers were getting torn one by one.

He could feel the Anti-God energy wreaking havoc in his ethereal core. He knew that if he continued on like this, his ethereal core might shatter under such pressure.

"Master, please get out of here! I can handle these mortals on my own," Kalypso pleaded since she could sense Damien was approaching his limit. If he kept this up, he might die. But she knew he could fly off on his own and use his lightning speed to get away before the army could hold him down.

But he could already feel his vision becoming blurry as more attacks were landing on his body, including a huge one that broke his arm. Still, he didn't buckle his knees as he used just his Sword Will to keep them all at arm's distance, and this was only causing him to get mentally exhausted as well.

"Stupid goddess, save him!" Kalypso cried, seeing that her Master would fall any time soon, and she didn't dare to imagine something like that happening.

"Damien chose to stay here. So he knows the consequences. I am not some godmother who can save him every time he is in trouble. My life is directly tied to the survival of this universe. I can't jeopardize that," Luna casually said, which only infuriated Kalypso even more, wanting to throw curse words at her for being so callous.

Damien didn't feel disappointed since he knew where Luna was coming from, and he wouldn't want anything bad happening to her because of him.

Still, even at this moment, his head was filled with thoughts of saving his wives and being disappointed he couldn't even do that. His ethereal core had shut down the Undying Wrath like a defensive mechanism to protect itself from shattering, and he was no stronger than a Middle-level Heaven Ethereal Realm cultivator.

One of the commanders blasted him away with his ethereal attack as Damien was sent flying for over a hundred meters before crashing into the ground, blood trickling out from all his seven orifices.

'Uhh…I…I have to get up…' Damien mumbled inwardly, but he couldn't even lift a single finger. He was feeling numb all over and couldn't even feel the pain of his injuries.

Kalypso was still fighting off the soldiers when she saw her Master getting blasted away.

"Master!" Kalypso immediately flew out and tried to rush towards her Master, but she panicked when she saw that one of the commanders had already reached Damien and was about to cut off his head, "NOO!!"
