Rise of The Anti God (Web Novel)chapter 533: something doesn't feel right

"They…they won't be able to fix them…in time…" Reva said in a fragile voice as she learned that with absolutely little to no time left, her people, including her grandmother, would never be able to use the teleportation formations in time.

"The teleportation formations outside? Are you serious? You won't last like this if you go outside right now. I will just buy them enough time till they fix it or do something to hold off your father," Damien wondered if she was even in his right mind to even think about going out and fixing the formations in her current state. But considering how her people were in danger, he could understand where she was coming from, not that he was going to let her do something stupid.

"No...I won't let you…This is my responsibility…" Reva's weak voice was weak, but her determination was strong, making Damien close his eyes and rub his forehead in tension, seeing how stubborn this girl could be, and said with a sigh, "Okay. Fine. Let's see…"

However, even though he said these words, he inwardly made a firm decision as well.

Meanwhile, on the outside, Irene realized that there was not enough time to change the basic foundation of the teleportation circles. Even the best experts she had said that they would need at least half an hour to change the whole thing, which would mean that she would have to buy them enough time to escape.

"Raise the ethereal barrier! We have to hold on enough to let everyone leave," Irene said as she ordered Shania to prepare the defense formations.

However, the time Luna mentioned had already run out, and Irene didn't notice anything out of the ordinary though she still didn't tell the experts under her to stop working on the teleportation formations.

Irene took to the skies and stood in thin air to see if she could spot anything. The Forsaken base was right now situated in a desert-like hilly area where the conditions weren't even good for farmers to stay, nor were there any trees barely.

However, because of the cloaking barrier, the Forsaken base couldn't be seen from outside even if somebody was standing right before it. And if they happen to get close to the barrier, they would feel very nauseous and dizzy, making them turn around and go back to get rid of the uncomfortable feeling.

This was actually a protective mechanism of the cloaking barrier to prevent any curious cultivators from barging in and finding out that something was stopping them from entering a certain area even if there seemed to be nothing before them.

The Forsaken base was situated in a very far and inconspicuous corner of the Xeton Empire, where people won't even wander into, since the lands were basically dead with nothing of value in the area.

She wondered if Damien made a mistake or something, but the fact that she couldn't sense the presence of the ancient god was indeed alarming, and the fact that the emperor might know about their location still left her unsettled.

Even if she felt that there was a 99% chance of Damien's warning being wrong, she wouldn't let go of that 1% chance.

However, five minutes passed, and still, nothing happened, and even the Zirians who were informed that their homes were compromised and no longer safe couldn't help but wonder why they were not under attack if they were really compromised.

Since the cloaking barrier prevented her senses from passing outside it, she could only use her own eyes to see what was within her sight. The barrier was designed this way so that nobody on the outside would feel that something was suspicious if they felt someone from the inside using their spiritual sense.

After all, all cultivators use their spiritual sense for day-to-day things, and this included the cultivators in the Forsaken base as well.

Damien also was finding it strange that nothing happened even after the time Luna mentioned had already been over, and Reva seemed to be almost done with modifying the teleportation formation as well. The Xeton Emperor had still not attacked them, let alone confronted them regarding the death of Yohr.

Reva, who was sweating profusely from her forehead, asked faintly, "What do you…mean?"

She was actually feeling a bit relieved that nothing happened even after the time Damien mentioned had been long over, and maybe her father might not have known about Yohr's death due to some complication, or maybe the barrier around their Forsaken base had a hand in it.

Damien suddenly thought about something and asked Reva, "What do you people do if one of your bases was compromised and you all left. What would happen to the base after that?"

Reva was a little confused about why he was asking about it when they had not even left their current base. But she still answered, feeling that he was onto something, "We have a fail-safe to destroy the entire base…so that our enemies won't be able to find any clues. What they might see…would only be the ruins of what once existed there."

Damien's brows furrowed even more as he asked, "And how do you people activate this fail-safe?"

Reva suddenly frowned as if she realized something at the same time she finished modifying the teleportation formation. She slowly turned to look at Damien and said, "Actually…it was Yohr who managed it for us. His aura was connected to all of our bases…and whenever our bases were exposed…he would trigger the fail-safe in time…"

A droplet of sweat trickled down Damien's temple as he asked, "And how long would this fail-safe take time to activate after being triggered?"

"To give us enough time to leave…around twenty minutes…and that means…if it got triggered…no more than five minutes from now…" Reva said as her eyes quivered in apprehension.
