Rise of The Anti God (Web Novel)chapter 497: the xeton god

Damien followed Reva through the icy cave and had no choice but to use his ethereal energy to protect himself from the chilling temperature inside as he went deeper and deeper into the cave.

The temperatures were drastically dropping down as they walked, but Reva didn't seem to show the slightest discomfort, and Damien wasn't surprised since he knew she must have been cultivating here for all these years.

"This place…does your father know about it?" Damien asked one of the most important questions since he had to be ready just in case the Xeton Emperor suddenly decided to show up.

Reva slightly turned her head towards him and answered, "My father does know about this place, but no need to worry about that. He had never entered this place, especially since he never got permission from my Master. Not even he would dare to offend my Master since, without my Master, there wouldn't be a Xeton Empire today."

Damien nodded and thought that just as he expected, the Xeton God was the one who made it possible for the Xeton Empire to grow into such a powerful empire and stay at the top.

Soon enough, the two came upon an entrance to a large beautiful pool that was glimmering with a bluish hue and looked quite cold as well.

"Master, I have brought Damien as you asked," Reva said as she bowed respectfully before the pool.

Damien took a deep breath and was prepared for anything as he didn't know whether this god was going to be a friend or foe. But if a god wanted to harm him, there would be no way to escape, right?

"So you are Damien Godwin, the adopted son of the late patriarch of the Ward Family. How strange and surprising…" An ancient deep voice boomed throughout the cave, startling Damien a bit since he never expected to hear only a voice but not see the person.

He could also feel a boundless pressure filling his surroundings like an ocean, making him feel as if he was floating yet heavy at the same time.

"My name is Yohr, the nine-headed god of the seas. But I do not deserve that title anymore…not in this state."

'Nine headed? He has nine heads?' Damien was surprised and tried to imagine how someone with nine heads would look like.

"Reva, I will summon you later. I want to talk with your little friend for a while," Yohr said though his tone was gentle yet deep at the same time. It seemed like he was talking to his daughter despite being a supreme being.

Reva was surprised to see that her Master wanted to converse with Damien alone. But she didn't think too much about it and bowed as she said, "Sure, Master. I will wait outside."

She looked at Damien and nodded before leaving.

"Damien…do you have any idea who your parents are or where you are really coming from?" Yohr asked, making Damien wonder why he suddenly asked this.

But there was nothing to hide, and so Damien said, "No…I do not know. It has always been a mystery for me other than the fact that a woman handed me over to my adoptive father when I was a baby. As for that woman, she was never to be seen again later."

As Damien said this, he felt a slight prickle in his chest but ignored that feeling.

"Then do you know that something very special lies in your ethereal core?" Yohr asked casually as if he was asking about something normal.

"I can understand if you find it hard to trust me with the truth, but if I had to make a guess, I would say you knew about it. After all, I was able to sense it when you first came here, but after that, I couldn't. It could only mean you used some strange method to hide its aura, which would mean that you were aware of its existence. Am I right?"

Damien sighed as he said, "Senior Yohr is right. I have known about the strange black seed in my ethereal core the moment I was able to cultivate. But I later learned that it was best to hide its existence since I guessed that black seed was the reason I was able to become as powerful as I am now."

Damien had to come up with a fake reason to explain why he suddenly hid the aura of his Origin Seed after coming to the Xeton Empire.

Otherwise, it would just seem too suspicious, and he can't reveal Luna's existence as well.

"But hiding the aura of an Origin Seed, the black seed in your ethereal core, is not that easy, especially from me. Who taught you such a technique?" Yohr asked as he maintained his tone, though Damien felt a certain force in his head that was making him feel like telling the truth.

"This isn't good…cook him up some story quick!" Luna hurriedly said, and the next second, Damien felt that force disappear and thought that Luna must have done something.

"My adoptive father had actually passed down a technique to me that was given by that woman who gave me to him. After learning that technique, I realized that I could hide my aura to a great extent as long as I did not exert my ethereal energy," Damien somehow cooked up a story just like Luna said, but at the same time, he had a weird feeling about these kinds of questions coming from Yohr.

He just couldn't put his finger on it.

"I see. That is indeed quite surprising. It could mean that the woman was no ordinary cultivator, and your origins should be far from ordinary as well, especially considering that you have an Origin Seed in your ethereal core. But I am sure you would want to learn more about what it is. How about I examine it and see what it is for you?" Yohr asked as his tone slightly increased before returning to his usual one.
