Re: Apocalypse Gamechapter 118: 5 minutes!

An armored car tore through the road at breakneck speed, hurtling towards Calumet town. Inside the vehicle, there were five individuals: Luis, firmly in control of the wheel; Kenny, seated beside him; Bill and Izzie in the rear seats; and a determined woman manning the mounted weapon. Her blonde hair danced in the wind as she clung to the formidable firearm.

[FN Mag]

[Type: Big Firearm]

[Rarity: Common]

[Attributes: Damage 38-45]

[Effects: None]

[Equipment Rating: 20]

[Able to Bring Outside the Game: No]

[Remarks: Vehicle-mounted machine gun]

Vicky, ready to take on the approaching Nazi blockade in town, seized the moment to upgrade her skill through her game link. She navigated to her skill upgrade options and chose the skill most pertinent to her current.

[Choose a skill to upgrade]

[Big Weapon (Expert)]

[Rarity: Common]

[Prerequisites: Perception D, Strength E]

[You have spent 500 survival points and 1x Rank E reward]

[You gained proficiency in [Big firearm] - Novice to Expert]

[Bonus attack damage: 25% > 50%]

With her unique [Gifted] skill, the upgrade cost was remarkably low, and she paid it without hesitation. If only there were no attribute limitations, she would have upgraded it to the master level. For now, she must settle for an expert level, which grants her one bonus active skill.

[Firm grip]

[Accuracy increase 20%]

With this new skill in her arsenal, Vicky gained enhanced accuracy and reduced recoil when firing big firearms, further increasing her effectiveness. As the armored car sped towards the blockade, she readied herself, arm locked onto the machine gun, and with determination in her eyes, she unleashed a storm of firepower while invoking an iconic movie line:

"Alright, Luis! Lock and Roll!"

With the bullets rained down on the Nazi barricades, providing cover fire, Luis expertly maneuvered the armored car, deftly weaving through the enemy lines. His adrenaline was pumping as he shouted, "Viva La Vida!"

Sitting beside him, Kenny anxiously monitored the map and barked out directions, "Take the right! Don't miss the entry! Here, now!"

They raced for two blocks until they reached another Nazi outpost blocking their path. Kenny urgently declared, "We're here! We must hold on for 5 minutes!"

"Alright! Enemy at 12 o'clock!" Vicky swiftly rotated the mounted machine gun, unleashing a hail of bullets that struck the incoming soldiers, forcing them to seek cover.

"Why are you hiding? Come out! Let me shoot you!" Vicky taunted. She had invested rank rewards and survival points into her skill upgrade, and she was determined to make the most of it. However, her enthusiasm waned as, within seconds, the area was swarming with Nazi soldiers.

"Enemy sightings on our six, five on our ten!" Kenny shouted, his voice tense.

[Shooting: Inflicts 62 damage]

[Shooting: Inflicts 58 damage]

[Shooting: Inflicts 63 damage]

Despite hitting half a dozen soldiers and sending some fleeing, Vicky realized that, unlike in real life where a single shot could be deadly, it took at least three shots to eliminate an enemy. It was only a matter of time before Vicky herself became a target.

[Shooting: Received 32 damage]

[Shooting: Received 34 damage]

"Arrghh!!"

When Vicky sustained an injury, Bill, who had been reluctantly pulled into the action, sprang into action. He grabbed one of Alan's best medical products, a [Medical Bandage], and swiftly applied it to the wounded actress.

[Healing: 80 HP Recovered in 2 minutes]

Despite the pain from her wound, Vicky courageously ignored it and continued firing her machine gun, determined to make a difference in the battle.

[Shooting: Inflicts 60 damage]

[Shooting: Lethal attack Inflicts 90 damage... Target died]

"Finally I got one!!'

Vicky exclaimed with excitement as she scored a kill. Bill shook his head in mild confusion at her enthusiasm. Meanwhile, Izzie watched the entire chaotic scene unfold through the bulletproof window, her excitement palpable.

"We are sitting duck Luis, move to that side!!" Kenny urgently directed, seeking a better position for the armored car.

However, even as they shifted position, more Nazi soldiers poured into the street, providing Vicky with additional targets to shoot but also exposing her to a relentless barrage of return fire.

"Get Down Vicky!!"

As Vicky's situation became increasingly perilous, Bill found himself forced to take her place at the mounted gun. However, the former CEO was trembling with fear, unable to muster the courage to expose himself to the relentless enemy fire.

His voice quivered with terror as he pleaded, "No!! It's suicide!! No!! Please don't force me to do it!!" The weight of the situation bore down on him, and the fear of facing the enemy fire head-on was palpable.

With Bill's hesitation and the absence of suppressive fire from their end, the encroaching Nazi soldiers closed in at an alarming pace. They were in dire straits, caught in a perilous situation. In a decisive move, Kenny took charge. The urgency of the moment propelled him to dash to the rear of the armored car, where he seized the mounted machine gun. With sheer determination, he aimed and opened fire, unloading rounds in the direction of the approaching enemy.

"We need to hold for another minute!" Kenny shouted, his voice strained amidst the chaotic symphony of gunfire and explosions.

Amidst this pandemonium, Luis desperately attempted to relocate the vehicles to a more advantageous position. However, his efforts were abruptly halted when he encountered an Elite SS soldier blocking their path, RPG launcher in hand.

"NOOO!!!!" Luis cried out in dread as the rocket streaked towards them.

KABOOOMMM!!!,

A thunderous explosion was triggered, but miraculously, none of them suffered harm from the blast. As the smoke cleared, it became evident that Izzie's ethereal smoke creature had acted as a protective shield, sacrificing itself to shield them from the deadly explosion

"Izzie!! Your friend was amazing!" Vicky exclaimed, her voice filled with awe and gratitude.

With the crucial five-minute mark having passed, a collective and urgent cry echoed among the Wolverines. "Luis!! Move OUT!!!!"
