( Max's POV )

The sadness in Ulrich's voice when he said that the true narrative was bound to be lost forever moved Max's heart a little.

Max wasn't someone who cared much about justice and truth if it were not matters that directly affected him, but somehow he felt like he needed to know the truth behind the true story of Ixtal.

" What is the true narrative? " Max asked with sincerity as Ulrich let out a deep sigh and began narrating the true lore of Ixtal.

" Ixtal is the holy land. A land where our progenitor decided to build his abode.

It's clear from your version of the story that the modern vampires deny it.

But what's true is that the vampires and the werewolves are both descendants of a common progenitor.

We are half-brothers who share different mother's but a common father.

When I say vampire, I mean your kind. The primordial vampires, the masters of blood, not the despicable bunch that call themselves vampires today.

But yes, the truth of the matter is that both the first primordial vampire and the first werewolf had the same ancestor and had the same rights to his ancestral home in the planet of Ixtal.

When our ancestor left the universe and ascended to the celestial realm, he left behind his most valuable treasures on Ixtal and created a planet with abundant vitality where mortals did not age and where the river of life flowed from.

The legends called the treasure he left the ' Seed Of Life ' a tier10 treasure capable of granting mortals immortality and aged god's a chance to reverse their ageing and it was rumoured to be placed at the start of the glacier where the river Sanguis originated from.

In the olden times, Ixtal used to have sunlight.

It was a planet of abundance, one where greenery and herbs grew everywhere-

The Sanguis was as clear as a crystal and its water was sacred, having healing properties as a result of being mixed with the powers of the seed of life at origin.

If one poured it over their wounds they healed, if one drank it, their body was rid of all ailments.

Vampires and werewolves alike enjoyed its magical effects and lived in harmony on the planet.

Once every 3 years, the inheritance of the ancestor would open inside the snowy mountains up north and the young were sent in to go try their luck at obtaining skills and legacy.

Everything ran smoothly for thousands of years, but it all went south for the same reason as most brotherhood fall apart...… for the stupid allure of women" Ulrich said as he let out a very deep sigh.

Max's eyes widened in disbelief, Ulrich's version of the story of Ixtal was completely different to what Max could have thought in his wildest imagination.

Ixtal seemed like a ' Red ' planet to him.

Gloomy, mysterious and dark.

The kind of place that was perfect for a primordial vampire who had sunlight allergy to live in.

He couldn't imagine it being a planet of abundance, or the Sanguis being the river of life.

" The moon goddess Luna. That bitch was the fiance of the werewolf monarch at the time.

The two were in love and were supposed to get married, but secretly she was having an affair with the vampire monarch at the time.

When she got pregnant before marriage, our ancestor the werewolf monarch decided to take responsibility and push the marriage date before she started to show to save her honour.

But who would have thought that her child upon being born would turn out to be the first modern vampire and not a werewolf?

Naturally this caused an uproar amongst the werewolf society and the child and her mother were imprisoned.

The vampire monarch back at the time should never have slept with another man's fiance, but it was only after the child was born and turned out to be his that he decided that he needed to swoop in and save Luna's honour, as he took responsibility for the birth and decided to go and save her from the prison that she was being kept.

A great war broke out between the primordial vampires and the werewolves.

The true great war that was fought on Ixtal…. The one that dyed the icebergs red and turned the Sanguis from the river of life to the river of blood.

Hundreds of millions died on both ends for this war and the conclusion was reached when Luna interfered in the battle from the prison she was in and created a celestial moon that was tidally locked against the sun, putting Ixtal in a permanent shadow, removing the debuff that prevented the primordial vampires from reaching their true potential as warriors.

It was only then that the primordial vampires won the battle and Luna was rescued alongside her child, but by now the moon goddess was filled with boundless hatred for the werewolves who imprisoned her and she passed down that hatred to her child and every other child she had with the vampire monarch from then on.

It took a few thousand years more, but the modern vampire population thrived and they decided that their stronger and more beast-like ancestors who had daily cycles of bloodlust were too dangerous to be allowed to roam freely in the universe and decided to hunt them to extinction.

Back then, it was a Titus who was the king and he rallied the entire vampire society to kill the primordial vampires and root them out from their ancestral land in Ixtal and it was there that the werewolves came to the rescue of their primordial brothers and the second great war was fought.

This is the war they depict in your history books. The fight where a few million died at best and the werewolves who had came to support their primordial brethren were forced to flee a losing battle.

It is from this day forward that the inbred mongrels, the modern vampires, took control of OUR holy land and it's been the status quo ever since " Ulrich said as he seemed to become depressed just by narrating the true history.

While Ulrich did not understand how the Sanguis communicated with Max, for Max a lot of things made sense now.

Many questions that were previously unanswered for him now seemed to be resolved as he understood why the Sanguis seemed to be repeatedly asking him to avenge the fallen.

He could finally understand where the true emotions of the river arose from and his heart sympathised a bit with it now.

The history of the vampires and werewolves was more intertwined and muddied than he had imagined and apparently Asiva's ancestor had a part in it too.

But just as he was about to go down a rabbit hole of sorting out the knowledge he had just received, Ulrich spoke in a sad voice.

" The worst part is that in the many thousand years of isolation where the werewolves were first beaten back by the primordial vampires, till they came to the aid of them. Ixtal lost its most valuable treasure, the seed of life.

We don't know when, we don't know how, but when we came back, Sanguis was no longer as potent as it once was and the planet's vitality had thinned to a fraction of what it used to be.

While nobody can be sure, we think that the seed is now with the goddess of life, the pillar of goodness in your light faction, the despicable individual you call ' Beniogre ', but how it ended up in her hands remains a true mystery " Ulrich said as he became completely depressed and mum after conveying this last fact.
