Snowstar, Whitelock Residence.
''Where is he?'' Isabella wondered with an anxious expression. She held a fancy touchscreen phone in her right hand while touching the screen with her left hand.
Once again, she tried to dial Isaac's number, but it ended in voice mail. It had been over a week since she heard anything from him. It wasn't normal for Isaac to be unreachable with phone.
The rest of the Whitelock family was as anxious. However, they didn't go to the authorities just yet because Luna mentioned the letter and that he went to visit 'friends'.
With the tension and anxiety spreading across the room, Luna silently watched as the fire burned strongly in the fireplace. She bit her nails while thinking very disturbing things.
The dark aura surrounded her and made breathing heavy around her.
Isabella glanced in Luna's direction and saw her distressed state.
'My foolish son… leaving such cute and smart girl behind to go visit some friend, and not even taking her with you? What has happened to him?'
She frowned while thinking about all sorts of crazy theories.
Maybe Isaac had a drug problem, or now the infamous Sword of Myth was after him. The news about Happylaugh reached every household, and the Whitelock family witnessed the fight that happened there.
They were more scared because that happened in real life and not inside the game. In here, he could die, and even Luna got dragged into it!
'He needs a proper spanking!'
The warm fiery glow shone on Luna's face, her darkening eyes shining like beautiful sea pearls.
'I can't use Clairvoyance Spell yet… But, when I can, I will find out where you are.' Luna's soft-looking cheeks puffed up as a sweet smile rose on her lips.
…
Inside Ice Castle.
The four Society Leaders gathered in the throne room while Jack Frost's cold shadow stretched across icy walls.
Christian, the round-bellied Legacy Carrier of Santa Claus, knelt on the ground with his head respectfully lowered.
Next to him was a white-haired fair maiden with rosy cheeks and doll-like facial features. She looked like she stepped out of a fairy tale, with each person being unnecessarily attractive.
Her name is Savannah Snow, Legacy Carrier of Kuraokami.
Within arms-length away, there was a blond-haired man with long stretchy arms and a swan-like neck.
His name is Magnus Cold, Legacy Carrier of Yeti.
And then the fourth figure was the shortest and less impressive-looking. He had a dark buzzcut with an aging face.
His name is Lee Ice, Legacy Carrier of Boreas.
''You called us, sire?'' Christian asked respectfully, keeping his voice calm and humbled.
''Those… people, that visited me. Who are they?'' Jack Frost asked while finally tearing off his gaze from the window.
''We dug up their information but only found Arthur's.'' Savannah respectfully said and took a quick glance at Jack before continuing with lowered head, ''The four men are ghosts; it is like they were born yesterday.''
''They most likely used some abilities to hide their faces,'' Magnus said.
''Would it help if I told you their abilities?'' Jack asked.
Christian lifted his chin and looked straight into Jack's frosty eyes, ''Yes, sire. If they are famous, we would know them,''
''Alright…'' Jack hopped off the window and strolled towards them, ''Then, there was person wielding black-colored pistols with the ability to shoot scarlet beams out of his eyes, and the ability of immortality.''
The Society Leaders exchanged glances with complicated looks.
''That doesn't ring a bell,'' Lee whispered with his strange accent.
''Hmm, there are few players with black-colored pistols, but beam ability and immortality are very rare.'' Magnus said.''
''Beam ability… Heat Vision?'' Savannah frowned.
''Immortality… There is only one with that ability that I can think of.'' Christian said and slightly smirked, ''I also heard that he could shoot beams that colors the skies in crimson.''
''Who?'' The Society Leader turned to them, curiosity oozing from their gazes.
Christian looked at Jack Frost, whose ears perked up, ''Player Wraith, class is Marksman, and has the ability of immortality, which must have weakness, and beam ability.''
''Wraith…'' Jack mouthed the name and said, ''Bring me all videos of him. Now, there were three others.''
The Society Leaders listened closely.
''One of them had a crimson-colored axe; the scent immediately filled the air once drawn, smelling like wet blood and cut flesh.''
''Maybe it was King Arawn or Lord Amour?'' Lee suggested.
''King Arawn made a ruckus in Autumn Realm not long ago, so it can't be him…'' Magnus muttered and looked at Jack Frost, ''Lord Amour is the closest bet.''
''´Bring all the videos of him. Now, there was someone who could run very fast. While he ran, he left a trail of blue lightning behind.''
''King Xerxus!'' The Four Society Leaders shouted in unison.
''Xerxus?'' Jack Frost nodded his head and said, ''Send me all videos of him, as well. And finally, someone was wielding a spear with a very dark shaft and a stone-gray blade. His aura was the strongest one out of them all.''
''Spear… strong aura… Gulp.'' Magnus gulped and looked at the shocked Society Leaders, ''Could it be him?''
''Who?'' Jack Frost saw their shocked faces. Even he felt slight pressure landing on his frail shoulders.
''Lord Kalzer!'' They shouted in unison.
''Kalzer… A powerful name indeed.'' Jack looked out of the window, wiping the fog out of the glass, ''That was the person I felt most threatened by. But, he lacks killing intent and is afraid of injuring a real person.''
…
''This is it…'' Arthur stopped in his tracks as they took their final steps down the mountain. Their feet touched the thin snow on the ground, while one step away was the start of grassland and the forest.
Sniff, sniff!
Isaac sniffed the air and could feel the salt lingering in the air. It was the scent of the ocean.
There was also the scent of wildflowers, grass, trees, and nature—each bringing joy to the faces of the men.
After wandering in the endless snowy lands, they finally reached salvation.
''Now, only one path left.'' In front of Arthur was the stone path that went through the forest. However, surrounded by tall trees, thick bunches, leaves, and branches, obscuring the sight.
It was indeed the perfect ambush spot but also the most predictable.
