"This bastard!" Lord Souldeath screamed as he trashed his office. He threw the computer away and destroyed the bookshelves with his cane. Only minutes ago, he received news of Arthur's announcement, and words couldn't describe the anger he was feeling.
His sons were silently standing in the office, slight anger in their eyes.
Arthur's announcement ruined their advantage, and now they have to fight against the monsters hiding in the shadows. Amongst the lesser fortunate who did not have that much wealth, there were a good number of those who played alone the White Online game.
However, one thing was certain, they were monstrously strong, and with the help of Mythical VR Helmet, they would become genuinely formidable opponents!
"We need to speed it up…" Lord slammed the side of his fist against the desk and shouted, "Hurry up and break the chains already. You five already have the Legacy. What is taking so long?!"
His five sons bowed humbly and said, "Yes, father!"
They left the room with heavy steps.
"Arthur…" Lord continued smashing things, "Fucking bastard… I need to hire several Assassins… I have heard that his strength is nearing the peak of the current human race, but several Assassins who had broken the chains should do it…"
…
"…" Kalzer silently watched the announcement as a replay. After he watched it for the tenth time, he silently closed the phone and smiled as he heard his father raging downstairs.
Arthur took off the advantage they had. His father had been angry ever since.
However, Kalzer was happy, "Yes… This is how it was supposed to be… Everyone, bring it on, and let's see who will be the first one to reach the God Realm!"
…
Somewhere in World.
Queen Diana sat in the living room with her family. They watched the announcement only a moment ago and had been in heated dispute ever since.
Her family was angry because their advantage was removed by Arthur.
'Interesting…' She smiled and left the living room.
Once entering her luxurious room with carpeted floor and pinkish walls, she snatched her Mythical VR Helmet and plopped down on the bed.
"Let's see if I can break the chains!" She smiled and closed her eyes.
…
"Oho…" Darth sat among his family in the small living room. The room was quite modest, with two floors, a modern kitchen, a semi-large living room, and three bedrooms.
His family members were shocked. His mother called his sister, discussing the shocking announcement.
Darth's sister was already texting with her friends.
Darth's father frowned while looking at the following news. After Arthur's announcement, every news station replayed it before their news anchors talked about it.
"Whew…" Darth scratched his head and returned to his room. He took out his VR Helmet and sighed because he knew that he needed Mythical to achieve his goal.
'Powers in real-life… I want them…' He sighed heavily and felt frustration filling him up. But then, he saw a black dot appearing in the sky. It wasn't only one, but hundreds!
Several hundred drones soared across the sky, and under the shocked gazes of the citizens, they began slowly descending.
Darth opened the window and saw one of the drones flying straight toward him!
The drone slowed down its speed and dropped off the box on the window frame.
"What the heck…" Darth took the box inside and opened it with a pocket knife. After it was open, his eyes glistened as ten Mythical VR Helmets were inside!
There was also a note.
[Ho-ho… This shall be my present for everyone - Arthur Welhenheim]
"Hahaha…" He held his face with laughter, "I see now… Well, thanks!"
He placed the Mythical Helmet around his head and lay on his bed. Then, he pressed the button on the side and entered the game with the goal of receiving real-life powers!
…
As rumors spread of millions of drones flying across the sky, the world was in an uproar. Apparently, they delivered dozens of Mythical VR Helmets for every household, and they came straight from the Legacy Company.
They finally understood what Arthur's last words meant. He talked about the present.
The riots and protests stopped. Everyone returned to their houses to enjoy Christmas and wait patiently for their presents to arrive. Once the sound of drones hovering above the sky came, everyone immediately stepped outside and watched as one of the boxes landed in their yards.
With exciting looks, they received their Mythical VR Helmets and returned indoors to play.
Suddenly, the crowded streets had turned desolate, and warm lights brightly lit each household. With their families, everyone entered White Online.
The Summer Realm and Spring Realm had only one day in the year when it snowed. Today was the day, and a Christmas feeling began spreading among the NPCs and Players.
Instead of spending Christmas in real-life, everyone spent it in White Online with their families.
Without them having to do anything, Christmas lights already decorated every house, and the tables were full of Christmas food.
The less fortunate families that couldn't afford much food in real-life also had their own houses in White Online with tables having more food than they could ever dream of!
As the happiness began spreading across the World of White, a calm Christmas lullaby echoed from the heavens. The God Realm's beautiful light stretched across the dark night, and the sound of angels singing reached every nook and crook of the world.
"Keep it going!" Boreas grinned as he sat around an enormous table with hundreds of other Gods and Goddesses. They were also having their own Christmas party with everyone invited.
The angels sang, their voices reaching even the Summer Realm. Delicious food filled the enormous tables while the Gods and Goddesses enjoyed everyone's presence. Then, there were also several Mythical Figures, eating among them with equal status.
Then, there was one Goddess, sulking and grumbling with displeasure.
She was Khione, who was also the reason the Summer, Spring, and Autumn Realm was snowing.
She gritted her teeth as her father's, Boreas', shout echoed behind her.
"Shut up, old fart…" Khione then sighed and softly smiled. She could feel the happiness lingering in the air. Also, she could see the smiling faces and the festive atmosphere in the lower realms.
She held her hand high up with snowflakes floating away from her fingertips.
It was all because of her and her ability. Without the snow, it would lack the crucial factor that Christmas should have.
"Merry Christmas… Isaac." She couldn't see that one annoying white-haired brat anywhere, but she could feel his presence somewhere in the Universe.
