White Onlinechapter 312: hidden dungeon (1)

Creak.

Isaac opened the door to his room. He turned the light switch on, and the lightbulb flickered before lighting the room.

He closed the door behind him and took off his jacket. He went to his wardrobe, opened the wooden doors, and hung his coat from the hanger.

''Whew.'' It was a rather exhausting day for Isaac. He and Sebastian wandered around the streets, even though he enjoyed it. The exhaustion was inevitable.

After returning to the Whitelock mansion. They had a lengthy conversation with Madison and Malcolm. They weren't opposed to Isaac going to the other Layer, but next time have to inform them first.

Once the talk was over. Sebastian went to resume his work while Isaac returned to his room.

Brr!

''Hmm?'' Isaac pulled out his phone. Turned the screen on and saw a news article. He had turned on all the news related to White Online and had primarily received useless information.

He wasn't very interested. Isaac thought that another useless piece of news popped up. However, he still checked out.

His disinterested face soon changed. His face showed surprise and excitement. The news talked about an event happening in White Online.

It was happening in ten different places, all around the World of White. One of the places was Beast Forest, near Stronglord.

Isaac pocketed the phone and grabbed the VR Helmet from the box. He collapsed on the bed and placed the headgear around his head.

The visor flickered as texts appeared.

''Enter!''

[Welcome to the World of Legacies!]

[World of White Welcomes You, Legacy Carrier!]

Isaac's eyes opened with a slam. The clear white ceiling, dead gas lamp, and curtains draped over the windows reached his vision. He sat up and opened the Interface with a single movement of his mouth.

The Teleportation Pearl was soon held in Isaac's hand.

''Near Beast Forest!''

A bright light appeared in the previously dimly lit room. The bright light seeped through the curtains and reached outdoors. Nearby neighbors wondered where the sudden light came from. Then, the light disappeared.

There was a dark forest surrounding a dirty road. The road was made from compact soil and was rather smudgy.

The road had tire marks. It seemed that only recently, many carriages have driven past. The lingering sand was still airborne.

Then, tiny light particles seeped through the ground. The particles started forming an outline of a person.

The eyelids of a white-haired youth fluttered. Isaac looked around him and noticed that he was standing in the middle of the road. He recognized the place.

''Beast Forest is close…'' Isaac turned his head around toward the direction where he expected the Beast Forest to be.

He headed in that direction. Soon, the forest around him cleared, and he entered an open space with endless grassland. In the distance, he could see shadows of hundreds, no… Thousands of players!

They were gathered in front of Beast Forest's entrance.

None of them had any intention of entering. All of them waited patiently with equally excited faces.

Isaac began jogging, and after a short minute, he reached the backline of the players.

He could see nothing except the sea of players. Then, he heard conversations between the players in front of him.

''Any idea what the event is about?''

''No idea. But, I have heard rumors.''

''Rumors?''

''Yeah. Apparently, this will be a treasure hunt.''

''Treasure hunt?''

''Yeah. Whoever finds the treasure first gets to keep it.''

''Wow!''

Isaac rubbed the back of his head. Treasure hunt? He was somewhat skeptical. He had learned not to trust rumors blindly. Most of them spread rumors to earn a few minutes of fame.

Even if the rumors were found to be fake, they would have already achieved their goal by then.

Ding! Ding!

The loud crowd of players became silent. Out of thin air, a notification emerged.

[SEEK OF HIDDEN!]

[Welcome, Players!]

[In the Beast Forest, there are ten Hidden Dungeons. The only way to find them is with the help of clues!]

[Only one person can enter a Hidden Dungeon. If a player fails to complete a Hidden Dungeon, it will reappear somewhere in Beast Forest]

[Good Luck, Players!]

There was a sign of movement at the front of the crowd. The players near the entrance rushed inside the forest. After that, chaos ensued.

The players that had grouped up had a single plan. To search for clues together. But, that was a recipe for destruction. Only one person can enter the Hidden Dungeon, and none of them were willing to give that spot away.

Isaac followed after the excited Players. The line moved forward slowly, but still, Isaac was not in a hurry.

After ten minutes, Isaac was part of the last group to enter the forest. Everyone else had gotten a head start. The edge of Beast Forest was crammed with players. Everyone looking for clues.

The rocks were turned over. The trees pulled from their roots and mountains were broken once a dozen spells landed on them.

Isaac's ears were hurting as the enraged shouts of players rang in the forest. The fights were inevitable.

'What a carnage.' He thought to himself as he looked around the forest. The Players even began to dig the ground. Trying out their luck.

Isaac shook his head. He left the area and soon found himself standing in the middle of a small clearing.

There was another group of players discussing where the clue could be hidden. They noticed Isaac but didn't care about his presence.

'What are they doing?' Isaac was baffled at the scene. The group of players was using their weapons to dig the ground. Soon, they realized that what they were doing was idiotic.

Isaac headed in another direction. He walked for several minutes. The loud noises had disappeared a minute ago.

He was already further away than most of the Players. Most of them stayed around the entrance while many rushed deeper into the forest.

However, Isaac was still roaming around the outer edge. He didn't seem in a hurry.

Then, he stopped walking. His gaze shifted to a nearby tree, and a peal of laughter escaped his mouth, ''Hah… So simple.''

He stopped in front of the tree. In front of his face was a paper nailed to the tree. The paper had words written that told where he needed to go next.

He took the paper into his hands. His eyes skimmed through the text. Then, he pocketed it and started heading in the direction of the next clue.
