White Onlinechapter 309: world's strike (4)

Isaac pulled the guns away from their holsters. He held them beside his waistline. The magazines already placed on them.

His fingers grazed the trigger. His palms became sweaty.

Crack!

The third wave of the puppets commenced. The first puppet that appeared had a proper sword this time around. An appropriate armor of leather surrounded the puppet's frail body.

Isaac extended his arms. The guns stood in front of him, ready to be fired.

"Goodbye!"

BRRRR!

However, when he squeezed both of the triggers. The guns trembled in his hands as bullets left the chamber rapidly. He wasn't expecting this. He thought there was only one shot in the chamber, but the pistols were automatic!

The magazines were quickly dried up. Isaac fell to the ground with his fingers still pressed on the triggers.

BRRRR!

The two guns wreaked havoc around him. Soon, the magazines were empty.

"Haaahhh… Haahh…" Cold sweat drenched his back. Isaac slowly stood up to look at the destruction around him.

The puppet was riddled with bullet holes. However, he wasn't the only one. After the fireball, the surrounding forest was already in bad condition, but now it was utterly destroyed!

Gulp!

His Adam's apple trembled as he gulped a dry hum. Isaac glanced at the smoking barrels and felt rather lucky that he didn't kill himself.

He looked at the cooldown count with the same glance, and it was not a pleasant sight.

"30 seconds…" Isaac could already hear the puppets emerging from the forest. He had to somehow survive thirty seconds.

Crack!

The Puppets left the forest. Isaac took a quick count and counted till thirty before the number of puppets became overwhelming.

"Fuck!" Isaac looked around and only found salvation from the destroyed forest. He could try to run away till the cooldown reached zero.

He turned around and headed toward the forward. Then, his body collided with something.

His face smashed with an invisible wall that stopped him from moving further. The forest was only one step away, but that distance was impossible to cross.

"No!" He slapped the invisible wall but only hurt himself.

The first few puppets had already reached Isaac. They swung their swords horizontally. The Puppets had also become much smarter after each stage passed.

They thought that slashing horizontally was better, and it indeed was. Their attack radius was much broader.

Isaac took a boost from the invisible wall and leaped over the puppets.

His feet landed on the ground. The Puppets behind him spun around and slashed. However, Isaac swept their legs under them.

He quickly snatched a sword from one of them and deflected the incoming blades. The sparks flew as Isaac retreated but also kept parrying the swords.

The cooldown rapidly decreased, and soon, it reached 0.

[Cooldown is over!]

That was his cue. Isaac grabbed the hilt of his sword tighter and threw it at the nearby puppet.

The sword smashed through the puppet's face; however, didn't die, instead kept moving forth!

Isaac pulled two magazines from his pouch swiftly. He connected them with the two pistols and lifted his arms with the guns perfectly placed in his hands.

"Goodbye." This time, Isaac firmly rooted his feet into the ground. Once he felt confident, he pulled the triggers and unleashed a rain of bullets.

BRRRRR!

The Puppets were instantly riddled with bullet holes. Most of them died from a single bullet, while few managed to survive longer before shutting down after their internal components broke apart.

"Whoo…" Isaac slipped the guns back into their holsters. The scene in front of him was absolute carnage.

Ding! Ding!

"Yes!" Sebastian covered his mouth after an unexpected shout. He felt rather strange about himself. Rarely he had lost control of his emotions, but now he couldn't help it.

At first, he thought it was over. Anyone with a sane mind would think like that. Isaac was down, beaten, with no weapons available, but still survived and won!

Wraith's name on the leaderboard had a massive boost. From the bottom of the leaderboard, all the way to the top!

However, one name was still ahead.

LoneSamurai.

However, Sebastian wasn't worried. His mouth had an obvious smirk. He was confident that the name on top would be soon changed.

Ding! Ding!

[Stage 4 Commences!]

[Stage 4 - Marksman!]

[FINAL STAGE - BONUS POINTS]

"Marksman!" Isaac couldn't suppress his smile. The laughter seeped through the corner of his mouth. How lucky was he?!

He couldn't believe it. The final stage could be impossible and would definitely be impossible if Isaac had to use any other class.

But, Marksman was HIS class. He was more familiar with it than anybody else!

"Marksman, shit!" Even though haven't played White Online yet, Sebastian knew about the horrible reputation of the Marksman class.

Widely recognized as the worst class.

"Shit… How unlucky." The hopes of reaching the top of the leaderboard were slipping away. However, Sebastian still believed. There was a strange feeling sprouting inside him. Even though there was a voice of reasoning in him that told Isaac won't survive. Another voice told him everything would be fine.

"Malcolm said that Isaac was an excellent shooter…" Sebastian murmured. He remembered the conversation he had last night with Malcolm over the phone.

Malcolm was too stubborn to praise Isaac when he was present in the room. But, while talking on the phone, he unleashed the lingering pride hidden in him.

He was very proud of what he witnessed while hunting. Isaac was, no doubt, his grandson.

While Maxwell didn't get the hunter genes, Isaac did!

Malcolm's father was a hunter, and his father was before him. That was passed onto him. He wanted to continue the legacy and teach Maxwell. However, he had no talent!

Malcolm felt depressed, thinking about the possibility of their hunting legacy disappearing, which had passed to hundreds of generations!

Was it destined to end within his generation?

He couldn't allow that!

A ray of hope had finally appeared.

Sebastian lowered his arms. His heart was racing, but he calmed it down by holding his chest.

"That's right… No one should underestimate the will of Whitelock… After all, their predecessor thousands of years ago was someone who was buried in the annals of history but will never be forgotten… After all, Legends will never be forgotten."

"Maybe… That Legend will make his appearance sooner or later…"
