Malcolm, Isaac, and the rest of the elderly gentlemen camped behind a snow-covered bush.
Ten meters from them, a brown-colored deer circled a small open space.
Malcolm grabbed his hunting rifle tighter and went into his own firing position. He slowly stood up, put his left leg forward, and took aim.
His finger slowly neared the trigger, and once his fingertip made contact, his posture was already perfect.
BANG!
Without further ado, he pulled the trigger and witnessed the bullet flying like a cannon.
The deer raised the head and felt the instincts kicking in. When the deer felt like running away, the bullet had already made a sizeable hole in the middle of the torso.
The deer staggered to the side before falling down without any signs of life.
Malcolm lowered his gun and nodded, ''That was the last one.''
''Good job.'' Leonardo patted his shoulder and walked with him to the corpse of the deer.
''I guess this was it.'' Charles grabbed his backpack and took out a small plastic box.
The plastic box was filled with sandwiches. He opened the cover and took a bite of the first sandwich he got his hands on.
Bentley rubbed his cold hands, trying to warm them up, ''That was the last hunt for today. Was it fun?''
He asked while looking straight at Isaac.
''Yes, it was.'' Without noticing, seven hours had already passed. After checking out the clock, Isaac was surprised and disappointed, knowing they had to leave before the forest got dark.
Charles swallowed the sandwich and wiped his lips with a napkin. Once he was done, he glanced at Isaac and asked.
''Young one, what are you planning on doing after you return?''
''Play White Online, I guess,'' Isaac replied. As long there won't be anything important to do, he would go back to play.
Everyone nodded, not even once they thought it would be a waste of time.
However, Franklin mentioned, ''Young one, you have great talent in hunting. When you return to Snowstar, don't waste the talent. It might prove useful one day.''
Charles, Eugene, and Bentley looked surprised at Franklin's words. He hasn't said anything about the future to his children or grandchildren, instead kept everything secret.
However, now, he was hinting that something would happen to someone who wasn't part of his family.
''I will keep that in mind.'' Isaac nodded, 'Maybe I should buy a hunting rifle… Or, I can buy Musket Rifle inside the game and teleport back to the real world…'
While he was thinking about whether he should waste one Teleportation Pearl use.
Franklin opened his mouth, ''Sigh, my grandson apparently reached the top 5000 in the rankings, and doesn't shut up about it!''
Charles, Eugene, and Bentley grimaced after the mention of his grandson. None of them had good memories about the little shit.
''What does he want now?'' Eugene asked.
''A car.'' Franklin shook his head, ''His arrogance knows no bounds.''
The elderly gentlemen rolled their eyes.
''A car for top 5000, what if he reaches top 1000, a spaceship?''
''Hah!'' A laughter escaped Franklin's mouth, ''I will get him a one-way trip to the orphanage!''
''Hah!'' Bentley roared in laughter.
Charles and Eugene shook their heads with smiles.
Soon, Malcolm and Leonardo returned with their haul.
''Time to go,'' Malcolm said while glancing at the sky. The blazing sun was slowly disappearing from the sky.
Everyone nodded and stood up.
They started their return trip.
While walking back, they walked past the hunters, who decided to stay for a night. They greeted them. However, didn't stay for chitchat.
After an hour, they left the forest.
''Whew…'' Isaac stepped inside the van and took off his backpack. He sat down and put it down on his lap.
After walking for an hour, exhaustion finally started kicking. Malcolm timed correctly when they should return. With their elderly bodies, they would had hard time walking back.
Soon, everyone was seated inside the van, and the driver, Franklin, started the engine and drove off the parking lot.
Brr!
''Hmm?'' While the van was moving at in steady pace back to Brightstar, Malcolm felt vibrations coming from his front pocket.
He took out his phone and checked the message he'd received.
[Madison: When are you and Isaac going to return?]
''Hmm.'' Malcolm raised his head away from the phone and saw the enormous City in the distance.
He quickly calculated the distance between the van and the city. After doing so, he wrote the best guess he could think of.
After pressing sent, he waited for the response.
Brr!
Soon, the phone signaled that another message had arrived.
[Madison: Alright, we have guests]
''Oh.'' Malcolm quickly replied with another message.
[Malcolm: Alright, we will be back soon]
He slipped his phone back into his front pocket and glanced at the back of the van, where four elderly men and white-haired youth were seated.
After half an hour of driving, the van entered the City of Brightstar. Franklin turned the steering wheel and entered the parking lot, where everyone's vehicles were parked.
Once he found a parking spot, he slowly controlled the car with incredible accuracy, and once the van was properly parked, he twisted the key and killed the engine.
''See you.'' Malcolm shook hands with Franklin and left the car.
Everyone at the back of the van left through the sliding door and took a quick sniff of the fresh air.
Franklin waited for everyone to take out their stuff, and once they were done, he left the parking lot with his van.
''Goodbye, young one, Malcolm!'' Bentley waved his hand and opened his car's door. The car was a fancy CUV with a gray paint job.
Malcolm and Isaac waved their hands. They gave their own farewells to Eugene and Charles, who entered their cars and soon left.
Once everyone had left, Malcolm and Isaac entered the car.
The last car from the parking lot drove off.
Inside the car, Malcolm put the heater on and said, ''Apparently, we have guests.''
''Oh?'' Isaac raised an eyebrow and wondered who it could be. However, he didn't really want to entertain anyone.
He had only one thing in his mind: to go play White Online.
