Guarding Her For a Whole Night, Chance Encounter (3)
“How can that be?” Their family similarly wasn’t prominent, but her grandmother and Sun Old Madam had quite the friendship, and she too often visited the Ding Duke Manor. Although she wasn’t very close with Sun Yi Jia, compared to majority of people, she was still much more familiar with her. And on the way to White Dragon Temple, she also learned that Sun Yi Jia was actually easier to get along with than she appeared. And through Jing Wan, this medium, she actually became much closer than before. Actually, in the past, she’s always admired her talents very much, but how could she be ruined just like this?
“Don’t worry.” Jing Wan lowered her voice, “Right now, she feels this way is much better.”
Zhou Ying Shuang blanked, somewhat confused at why Sun Yi Jia would think like this. Jing Wan softly explained a few words to her, and she finally let out a look of sudden understanding.
The reason why Jing Wan dared to directly tell her, aside from letting her rest assured, was because she knew Zhou Ying Shuang wasn’t someone who liked to gossip, and understood the severity of the situation. Even if it’s her family members, she probably won’t carelessly tell either.
Zhou Ying Shuang momentarily went silent, “So she was also a pitiful person.” Soon after, she seemingly thought of something again. “Then what about you? Where did you get injured? Don’t trick me.”
Have to say, the deepest wound on Jing Wan’s body was probably the one on her neck. The other areas for the most part all didn’t hurt. If Jing Wan said she was fine, Zhou Ying Shuang probably won’t believe. She gently had Zhou Ying Shuang’s hand placed on her neck, feeling her careful touch. Jing Wan once again couldn’t help but feel guilty inside, and couldn’t help but violently curse a certain person.
“Is the wound deep?” Everyone all knew, the neck was fragile. One mishap, and it can take a person’s life.
“Not deep, really. Else, my grandmother and them wouldn’t have let me come out either.”
Zhou Ying Shuang thought about it and felt she was right.
Seeing the atmosphere between the two, Madam Zhou’s heart also eased a little. However, she also couldn’t help feeling somewhat jealous inside. Her own daughter, no matter how much she said to her, she would always just say she was fine, smiling from beginning to end. Yet, an outsider that she hasn’t known for long says a few words, coaxing her, and she immediately spills out her true feelings. Really a little white-eyed wolf.
Madam Zhou signaled the servant girl to serve up the medicine and to also prepare some snacks for her. Although she’d previously said she was fine, she avoided the bitter medicine, and also said she didn’t have an appetite. If that was not holding back inside, then what is? She hoped that she will be able to drink the medicine now, and eat some things, else how can she get better?
The servant girl had the medicine carried over, looking to Jing Wan with an eager look. Jing Wan immediately understood what was going on. Taking the bowl, she let the servant girl slowly have Zhou Ying Shuang propped up. “Ying Shuang, come, drink medicine.”
“Bitter.” Zhou Ying Shuang instinctively rejected.
Jing Wan used the spoon to lightly stir the medicine in the bowl. “Good medicine tastes bitter but is beneficial to the body. If you don’t drink medicine, how can you get better quickly? Don’t you want to be able to see again sooner? —-Good big sister, quickly open up. Don’t tell me you want to let this younger sister laugh at you?”
Zhou Ying Shuang’s complexion suspiciously reddened, as she reached her hands out, “Give it, I’ll drink it myself, who wants you to feed. You’re a delicate pampered miss with food and clothes at your reach, you’ll feed it into my nose.” Jing Wan helplessly laughed and had the medicine bowl placed into her hands. Zhou Ying Shuang very candidly finished the medicine in a few gulps, afterwards wrinkling her face. Looks like disliking bitter medicine was also real.
Jing Wan shoved a honey candy into her mouth, and Zhou Ying Shuang hurriedly sucked on it.
TN: All
“Miss, Ding Duchess is inviting you to go over.” Gong mama entered the room and said in a soft voice.
“Then Jing Wan quickly go, perhaps Yi Jia has something.” Zhou Ying Shuang pushed her.
“Then alright, I’ll go have a look. I’ll come over again to see you later.”
“En.”
Just before stepping out, Jing Wan suddenly stopped in her tracks, “Facing one’s loved ones, some words, they don’t want to say, and some grievances, they don’t want to let out. Only because they care too much, and don’t want to let them worry and feel sad.”
Madam Zhou was startled, following which she immediately understood her meaning. Truly a meticulous and considerate miss. “I know, that girl…..” As she spoke, her eyes uncontrollably moistened.
Jing Wan nodded, “Then Jing Wan will withdraw first.”
A mama that Ding Duchess heavily relied on had personally came to invite Jing Wan. It can be seen her attitude towards Jing Wan changed quite a bit.
On the way there, Jing Wan didn’t inquire what Ding Duchess wanted her for.
“Greetings Madam.”
“Quickly get up.” Compared to yesterday, Ding Duchess’s attitude towards Jing Wan can practically be said to be cordial.
Jing Wan although felt her attitude changed a little too quickly, feeling somewhat strange, but she still didn’t express it on the surface. Facing her careful gaze, she didn’t avoid either, only quietly standing there, calming taking it in. She believed herself to not have any places she was ashamed of.
Towards this steady composure of hers, Ding Duchess rather admired somewhat. Pulling Jing Wan by the hand, she says, “I heard your grandmother has already returned to the capital. I was thinking you probably won’t be going back any time soon. I intend to let Yi Jia recuperate at White Dragon Temple. Jing Wan, although you are two years younger than her, you very much have the mannerism of an older sister, so I want to trouble you to look after her some more.”
“Madam is too serious. How big sister Jia is, anyone with eyes can see, so can’t really say who’s taking care of who. Since we address each other as sisters, then naturally we’ll mutually look after one another.”
Ding Duchess nodded, “You’re a good child.”
Why did these words also sound somewhat strange?
Evidently, they’d already finished preparing on this side, and not long after, Ding Duchess majestically left with her people. Aside from a mama from Ding Duchess’s side, all others, however many came was however many that left.
Jing Wan gazed in the direction they departed in, looking somewhat pensive. Ding Duchess’s attitude was truly difficult to understand. Even if it was because of Sun Yi Jia, it wasn’t really necessary to go this far either.
Sun Yi Jia walked to her side, coiling around her arm. Afterwards, she mischievously smiled, seemingly saying, ‘anything you want to know, just ask me’.
Jing Wan felt it was better if she didn’t know. “Big sister Jia, you should be free at this time, right? Let’s go to the back of the mountain to cut some peach blossoms, how about it?”
Sun Yi Jia was somewhat surprised, but she didn’t say anything excessive. Some things, when the time comes, naturally will become clear. If she says too much right now, she was worried little sister Wan will become embarrassed. “Alright, our purpose in coming to White Dragon Temple was just to admire the flowers anyways. Although an accident occurred, if we don’t go take a glance, wouldn’t the loss be even greater?”
Jing Wan nodded, “Just, it’s a shame Qiao Qiao and Ying Shuang can’t come together with us.”
“Then we can just cut a few more branches back and have their rooms filled up. Although it might be slightly inferior to the ones outside, it can still lessen the regret.”
Thus, Jing Wan, this flower lover and cherisher of flowers, who doesn’t easily break or damage flower branches, also prepared to become a one-time flower destroyer.
The mountain was filled with peach blossoms. Because they’d gotten into an accident, or rather, because Jin Qinwang got attacked by assassins, White Dragon Temple temporarily stopped opening up to the commoners, and the other families in the capital, knowing that White Dragon Temple was currently in a troubled period, naturally won’t let their family members come. And the ones that were previously here have also hurriedly left in the last two days. As a result, in this peach orchard, it was basically just Jing Wan and Sun Yi Jia, as well as the people they brought.
Wherever the flower bloomed best, and the most beautiful, was where they cut. One branch after another, truly unrelenting in their destruction.
“What is Miss Sun cutting this many flowers for?”
Jing Wan and Sun Yi Jia looked over, following the voice. Sun Yi Jia slightly blanked, “Miss Ruan….”
