Splat! [Part 2]
“Big Sisters, I can’t tell you even if you ask me with your identical cute faces, okay? Because I have a duty of confidentiality to protect.”
*clang* Hue looked back at the twins while putting away the dangerous traps.
The queen strictly forbade him from speaking about the content of the message.
“Meow!”
“Hm? Koumei-san, did you find the king?”
“Meow!”
Koumei sniffed the air and nodded.
“Meowww”
Koumei meowed, saying they better hurry because the king was going further and further.
“Oh my, he’s still going deeper into the forest? Catherine-sama, Caitlyn-sama, we will pick up our speed a little, so please get on Koumei-san.”
Emma, riding on Koumei’s back, had Koumei loaf first before turning her head to look at the twins.
Unlike Marion, who was training to be a knight, and Francesca, who was good at dancing, the twins had already started looking a little tired.
“Can we, Koumei-san? I wonder if it’s going to be alright, Caitlyn?”
“Won’t it be heavy if we also get on? Catherine?”
Catherine and Caitlyn asked Koumei worriedly, saying they wouldn’t even ride a horse with three people.
Seeing the twins talking to a cat so naturally, Francesca and Marion exchanged looks and shrugged. They both should probably learn from the twins’ high adaptability.
“Meow!”
Still in a loaf position, Koumei meowed a reply to the twins.
“Koumei-san will totally be fine. Father, with his favorite hammer, is much heavier than the three of us combined, yet Koumei-san can move with ease while carrying him.”
“That ‘Meow!’ just now carried that much meaning?”
Francesca walking beside them was shocked. She already gave up retorting on the fact Emma was interpreting the cat.
“…Hmm. Now that you mention it, 100 t is written… on that hammer of the Count, huh…”
Marion, who was helping the twins mount Koumei, remembered the letters engraved on Leonard’s favorite hammer. She heard that it was a weapon specialized for dealing with monsters, unlike the swords the knights used, but she was secretly wondering if a human could wield a 100-ton object.
“Fufufu, of course it doesn’t weigh until 100 tons, but it has been decided long ago that 100 t should be written on the hammer. It’s just a matter of aesthetic,” Emma laughed while telling Catherine to hold onto her tightly and circling Catherine’s arms around her waist.
“I originally made it so that Mother could use it if Father ever cheated, but… well, y’know, Father would never cheat, so…”
“Meow meow!”
“Ufufu. You’re right, Koumei-san. A 100 t hammer is a useless object for a ‘countryside hunter’, isn’t it?”
[T/N: a reference to this hammer from City Hunter]
“That was a good one, Koumei-san. You’ve got me there.” Emma laughed together with Koumei.
“…Do you get what’s so funny, Caitlyn?”
“…I don’t get what’s so funny, Catherine.”
Caitlyn put her arms around Catherine and tilted her head.
‘Nobles in the Royal Capital often keep a mistress, but I guess it’s different in the borderland.’ Francesca also thought in wonder.
“Meow!”
Koumei slowly rose to her feet and let everyone know they would depart.
“Both of you, hold on tight and be careful not to fall, okay? It seems there’s not only the king but also monsters ahead.”
“ “ “ “Eh?” ” ” ”

“WOO HOO!!!”
The king, in full berserk mode, slayed a monster with a single stroke.
“Noooo… The monster ridiculously popular as a material for gloves, the flying monster squirrel… was slashed one after another…”
“Give up, William. This is still much better than His Majesty attacking the knights, hunters, or us.”
George and William were at a loss looking at this scene after finally catching up to the king, who advanced to the forest’s depths at an unbelievable speed while defeating monsters. They thought with a fed-up expression, ‘Sorry, but we ain’t gonna be babysitting the king for the second time today.’
