The Despair of First Prince Maximilian Lewin Royal [Part 3]
“The country Maximilian studied abroad in was the Empire. It’s the country with the most magicians.”
“Wha! Could it be… charm magic?”
The prime minister widened his eyes upon hearing the queen’s words.
After the existence of Connie Moo, titled the Great Magician, no other magicians who could use charm magic had appeared.
Because of that, some wondered whether a magician’s ability kept declining after every generation.
“That possibility is high.”
“However, Your Majesty. I can’t think of His Highness Maximilian as being manipulated. Using a mother’s intuition as the basis for that statement is too weak.”
The Royal Guard Commander, who had been listening on silently until then, said it might have been the queen’s mistake. If he objected to the opinion of royalty, he couldn’t even complain if he were to be subjected to punishment. However, the Royal Guard Commander had been giving Maximilian swordsmanship training since Maximilian was little. He trusted his ability to judge people’s character. Otherwise, there’s no way he would be qualified for the job of Royal Guard. With such confidence, because he himself didn’t sense anything strange, he couldn’t completely believe the queen’s words.
“The chances of it being the work of a magician who can use charm magic, who only appears once in hundreds of years, are too low.”
The prime minister was on the same side as the Royal Guard Captain.
“I’ve received the information that the Empire has been gathering magicians from all over the world. I’m sure everyone present also chanced to hear the rumor about how the Empire already has dozens of magicians. The more magicians they have, the more progress they can make in magic research.”
The prime minister, Royal Guard Captain, and the gathered ministers all lowered their gazes and shook their heads at the queen’s opinion.
It seemed like it would be hard to persuade them no matter what the queen said.
Magicians who could use charm magic were just that much of an alien existence.
“Your Majesty, how about observing the situation for a little more…”
“When Maximilian was conversing with Lady Rose face-to-face, he didn’t look at her breasts at all.”
The prime minister was about to say, “let’s observe for a while,” to save the queen’s face and put an end to this conversation, but the queen interrupted him by declaring the info that had been her trump card.
“ “ “Eh?” ” ”
Upon hearing that strong remark, everyone who was staring at their toes raised their heads all at once and couldn’t hide the pure shock on their faces. ‘How could that be?!!’
“I confirmed it directly to Lady Rose herself so there was no mistaking it.”
“ “ “HUUUHHH?!” ” ”
What the queen said next caused everyone to rise to their feet with great vigor.
‘Does this mean that Rose-sama has been long aware of how we like to sneak glances at her breasts?’
The menfolk’s eyes started darting around restlessly.
“You are greatly mistaken if you think you haven’t been found out, you know.”
“ “ “AAAaahhhh…” ” ”
The queen’s somewhat reproachful sigh adding to the revelation of shocking truth made everyone slump into their chairs limply. ‘No wayyy. And here we thought she had never found out… No well, even when unintentional, our eyes are drawn in of their own accord. It can’t be helped.’
“…If that is true… then… His Highness Maximilian is strange.”
One minister muttered quietly. “No man doesn’t look at Concubine Rose’s breasts,” he added.
“Yes, that is certainly abnormal.”
The Royal Guard Captain nodded deeply. ‘Such a human being cannot exist unless they are under charm magic,’ he thought.
“Let’s think up a countermeasure right away. I will start reviewing the documents from the Empire after this.”
“Hmm hmm,” the prime minister hummed.
After they had solid evidence, they had no choice but to deal with it. The prime minister didn’t even want to imagine opposing the Empire. But this was reality.
The existence of Maximilian, who didn’t look at Concubine Rose’s breasts, made the Kingdom realize the gravity of the situation much faster than the Empire’s prediction.
