Yoriko’s Cooking On Board [Part 4]

“Time’s up!”

The three siblings’ hands stopped moving right after Melsa’s sign.

The ‘Melsa’s evaluation’ that would decide the victory or defeat began.

“…George? This is my first time seeing egg yolk turning this foamy, you know?”

“Yes, I did my best!”

“You seem to have not put the oil in at all, though…?”

“…AH?! I forgot?!”

“…William? Well, it is better than George’s…(?) but it seems far from finished, doesn’t it?”

“Mother, you stopped the match too early! I have only added 85 drops of oil.”

“…Being cautious is good, but there’s a limit to everything, you know?”

“…Yes”

“…And Emma’s…? I saw that your hand for mixing didn’t move at all, but your mayonnaise… Huh, it’s done(?)”

Emma’s egg mixture and oil mixed well and had emulsified successfully into mayonnaise.

” “!!! EH?” “

“Fufufu, the winner has been decided, it seems. The sushi roll is mine,” laughed Emma.

“Impossible! Everyone saw that Emma didn’t move her hand to mix at all, right?!”

“You’re not cheating, are you, Nee-sama?!”

George and William protested against the result.

“No, we have been watching from start to finish, so cheating is not possible!” declared Julian, followed by the other Tarous’ nods.

“Just what exactly happened…?”

“Meoww♪”

“!! It’s Koumei! Koumei must have used some magic…” George looked at Koumei, who was snuggling close to Emma, and shouted.

“No, the cats only clung to Emma while purring, though… Hm? Purring?” Leonard realized the trick.

“Could it be that… the slight vibration from the purrs was transmitted from Emma to the mayonnaise?

” “W-WHAT?!” “

“How could that be!” George and William were shocked.

“Fufufu, those who make a cat cry will cry to a cat!!! Your defeat was certain the moment you pushed Kan-chan and Ryuu-chan away.”

” “Damn…” ” The brothers collapsed on their knees and regretted their decision.

“…Uhh… what a farce…” muttered Mancio, who was always courteous, unconsciously in exasperation.

“I told you, didn’t I? We have too much free time.” Melsa sighed and urged the Tarous to also try making mayonnaise.

“Imperial Prince Tasuku, how about a tuna mayo sushi roll?”

Emma offered the sushi roll to Imperial Prince Tasuku, whose head was full of worries.

“Sushi roll…? I have never seen this kind of filling before… Do you call this tuna mayo?”

Imperial Prince Tasuku ate a small piece of the sushi roll offered to him.

“!!! This is delicious.”

“Right?”

Emma smiled brightly and ate her prize, a sushi roll.

No boys didn’t like tuna mayo (prejudiced), so of course, he would find it delicious.

“This sauce mixed with the fish… It tastes like Kingdom-style food, but it goes well with rice and seaweed…”

“This is a sauce called mayonnaise. My children and the Tarous made it.” Melsa looked at Tarous, who felt nervous in front of Prince Tasuku.

“Oh, the chef boys made this? Thank you for your hard work. I hope you can continue to make this mayonnaise sauce for the Imperial Japanese people to enjoy from now on.”

“Y-Yes!”

“We are not worthy of your kind words, but thank you very much! It will be our honor.”

“I’m ready to dedicate myself to Imperial Japan!”

“Please have some more!”

The Tarous, who were very moved by the deity’s words, responded cheerfully.

“The sandwich Emma-sama made… is super delicious.”

Joshua also stuffed his face with the tuna salad sandwich happily.

“Joshua, we helped too, okay?” William ate a sandwich while stealing glances at the sushi roll. It’s delicious… but it has the taste of defeat. thought William as he chewed on his sandwich begrudgingly.

“…Kan-chan, you traitorrrr…” George also ate the sandwich and saw the cats getting sushi rolls from Emma.

“Meow♪”

Koumei was relishing the tuna salad with cucumbers.

The combination of tuna and mayonnaise was well received by the Kingdom’s Rothschild Company’s staff and sailors, and Joshua secretly made a note in his mind to add a tuna salad sandwich to his cafe menu.

“…I didn’t know… Melsa could cook… this well…”

Oliver got a shock again as he bit into his sandwich little by little.

“Melsa, it’s my win this time.” Leonard whispered to Melsa in a low voice.

“I know.”

“Hehe, I won’t let you sleep tonight.”

Oliver, whose seat was close to them and just happened to overhear it, now felt like he was eating sand instead of sandwiches.

Author’s words: The pastime activity of the Tanaka family, who had too much time on their hands.

I feel like this chapter has kinda become a side-story-ish…

I once drew a comic called the “Mayonnaise Eating Squad” that had the same vibe as Super Sentai in my notebook, so I made a mayonnaise-related story in remembrance of that.
