The Return of the Disaster-Class Herochapter 496: book 2: epilogue 9 - i became a slime one day (1)

“What the hell?”

Aslan’s eyes turned round when he saw the sight in front of him. Before him was the unconscious figure of Sagittarius. At a glance, he looked to be a seven-year-old boy.

Aslan tilted his head in puzzlement. He wondered why Sagittarius was unconscious in the middle of the floor, but he soon found out the reason.

“You have your memories, right? You have your memories, right? You have your memories, right? You have your memories, right? You have your memories, right?”

“!”

“Byaaaaa??”

Baby Lee Gun was looping the sound on the tablet PC and plucking out the hair from the young Sagittarius’s head. It also looked as if Lee Gun was checking whether Sagittarius was dead or alive.

Aslan let out a chuckle as he looked at Sagittarius.

‘I can guess what happened here.’

There was a possibility that Sagittarius had been caught unawares by Gun’s strength, but…

‘As expected, he had his memories.’

After sending Lee Gun off to the World of Emptiness, Aslan had researched to find a method that would allow him to extract Lee Gun from that world.

During this time, he had heard about Sagittarius going through the process of inheritance.

‘I did expect it.’

It was normal for gods to lose their memories when going through inheritance. Inheritance was reincarnation, like a reset. But there was an exception.

Ra!

Basically, the Lord of the Fire Wheel was an irregular. He was able to keep his memories as he went through the process of inheritance.

And Sagittarius could keep his memories like him because of one reason.

‘He possesses the Steal ability.’

In the past, Sagittarius had stolen the Fire Wheel Lord’s treasure from Ennead. This treasure had been the Fire Wheel Lord’s power, and in stealing it, Sagittarius had gotten some of the Fire Wheel Lord’s power as well.

‘That’s why Hyung-nim was able to retain his memories.’

Of course, this wasn’t an oddity, but…

‘He should be careful. Eternal Change must not find out about this.’

Eternal Change was a fanatic of the Creators. If Eternal Change found out about Sagittarius’s situation, he would kill the god.

Also, it seemed Gun had already found out about him.

“Byaa!”

When Sagittarius didn’t get back up, Aslan laughed as he looked at the pouting Lee Gun. “Oh, my! Is Gun mad because he isn’t getting up? You want him awake?”

“Byaa! Byaa!!”

Lee Gun babbled as he slapped Sagittarius’s head with his small hand.

Aslan found this so endearing that he hugged Lee Gun. “I like that my son is in this form.”

“Byaaaaaaaaa?!!!” Lee Gun didn’t like the tight hug from Aslan. He squirmed. “Byaa! Byaaaaa!!!”

The baby used his chubby hands and feet to hit Aslan and threw a tantrum.

The outcry made Aslan loosen his hold on Lee Gun, and he looked displeased. “Do you hate being hugged by your father that much?”

“Byaa!!!” The baby acted as if this was a given. He protested by tapping on Aslan’s arm. “Byaa! Byaa!! Byaaaa!”

It seemed he wanted Aslan to stop this nonsense and put him down.

As his father, Aslan was hurt by Lee Gun’s reaction. He pouted as he lowered Lee Gun to the ground. Of course, Aslan didn’t just put him down.

“Byaa?!”

He flipped over Lee Gun.

Having been suddenly flipped on his back, Lee Gun whined as he struggled. He couldn’t roll over. “Byaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!”

Aslan smirked as if he was making a point. “See? My son is still a cub incapable of flipping over, right?”

“Byaaaaaaaaa!!!”

“Mmm? You want me to raise you back up?”

Aslan was a god with “Ability Creation.” He could easily make an ability related to translation.

This was why he could understand the speech of monsters, animals, and other races. Translating the babbling of a baby was easy for him.

Of course, he didn’t need to use his Translation ability to figure out what his son wanted.

Aslan flipped over Lee Gun with a smile. “This is the second time I’m seeing you like this. You were much cuter back then.”

“Byaaaaa….” Lee Gun finally was able to see the ceiling. He looked humiliated and angered, and his brows were furrowed. Moreover, his forehead had turned red.

Seeing his son glaring at him, Aslan mischievously laughed. “What? Are you saying I should act as if I’m your father?”

“Byaaaa!!!”

“You’re too much. I’ve watched over you since you were born.”

“Byaaa?” Lee Gun tilted his head as if Aslan were talking nonsense.

His eyes said that they had met when Lee Gun was an adult. He was implying that Aslan was trying to play tricks on him by saying he had watched over Lee Gun since his childhood.

Only three years had passed since Lee Gun and Aslan had met each other. After Lee Gun had gotten rid of Time, he had met Aslan, who had presented himself as the former Serpent Bearer and thirteenth Zodiac. That was their first meeting.

Aslan laughed. “You might not know this, but I’ve been with you since you were young.”

In the past, Aslan had lost his family and friends. He had even lost his wife, whom he treasured the most in this world. He took his revenge on those who were the reason he lost his most treasured person, then he had died.

‘I thought that was the end for me.’

However, he had suddenly become a slime. He had become one thanks to his damn son. It was quite an absurd turn of events.

* * *

Aslan had found out about the existence of his son after his wife had died. When he had held the bloodied corpse of his wife, he had realized that there was a child inside her stomach.

It was Lee Gun. Despite his mother’s death, the child was still alive inside her stomach. It might have had something to do with Aslan’s Divine status. The Divine status of Asclepius (Life) might have strengthened Lee Gun’s life force.

Anyway, Aslan sent his yet-to-be-born son into the flow of the universe. His child might be born hundreds or thousands of years in the future, and he had no idea where. Aslan didn’t know which dimensions and country his child would be born into. He just hoped his child would survive somewhere.

Aslan wanted his child to live a normal life with good parents. He sent his child away with that wish in his heart. Of course, he had never thought he would be able to see his son again.

“This boy’s name is Gun.”

When his son met Yeonwoo at the orphanage, Aslan had wordlessly placed his hands over his face.

He had immediately recognized him since his son was a splitting image of his beautiful mother.

It had left Aslan speechless.

Thousands of dimensions and countless numbers of timelines existed in the universe. So him meeting his child among the countless crossroads was fate. It was a miracle.

Aslan was inside the Divine status of Life, which Yeonwoo possessed, and he watched Lee Gun grow up.

‘Of course, I never expected Yeonwoo to hand over her Divine status to my son before she died.’

Moreover, he had never expected to see his son get beaten up by the Cluders. At the time, Lee Gun didn’t know how to use his power well.

“Kuh-huhk!”

Kwahng!!!

Lee Gun had just awakened, and he was a novice. He didn’t even know how to kill the Cluders. To make matters worse, he had no decent weapons! He was an idiot who charged the Cluders with a knife!

“Ahhhk!! Gun! A kitchen knife won’t work against them!!”

“Guuuuun! They won’t die because you burn them… Ahhhk!!!”

“Gun!! They won’t fall unconscious because you hit them on the head!!! It’s useless to hit them between their legs!!!”

Aslan was a nervous wreck as he watched his son hunt with his life on the line.

“They are trash!! Damn it! Are you really my son?!”

He wasn’t even fighting a monarch!

‘He lost a fight to a slime, a low-rank Cluder?!’

It was devastating! If he had it his way, he wanted to kill the monsters for his son!

‘I had hoped he wouldn't possess any power, but…!’

The look of his son told him that it was out the window. He thought this when he saw the weapon Lee Gun had made.

‘Yes. It seems he’s my son by the look of it.’

Lee Gun possessed the blood of the Creators. In the beginning, he hadn’t known how to manufacture weapons. However, he had backstabbed the Constructs of the Capricorn temple to steal their basic blueprints.

Lee Gun worked hard to teach himself how to manufacture weapons, and he was able to create Heaven’s Punishment through his self-study.

The blueprints had been C-rank, yet Lee Gun had created at least an S-rank item. His tenaciousness, talent, and effort were commendable even in Aslan’s eyes.

‘What the hell? He made a weapon with a will of its own??’

Aslan was sure of it now.

‘That’s the Item Creation ability.’

If Aslan had Ability Creation, his son had Item Creation.

If someone asked him whether the manufacturing ability was good, Aslan would have been ambivalent about the answer.

‘The manufacturing ability is considered cursed among the Creators.’

Of course, the manufacturing ability was a rare and good ability. The Creators with this ability were the ones to create the Divine world. They had made holy items for the Primordial god and the Great Spirits; created the Rule Book, the foundation of the Divine world; and created the core of the Divine world.

In other words, manufacturing was the backbone of the Creators. They had been treated like heroes by the other Creators as well as the Divine world. They were called legends for a reason.

‘However, no one capable of succeeding them had appeared. Their line was cut short.’

Aslan had been the last generation of them, and by the time he had appeared, the Creators were only capable of conducting repairs. They were unable to create new items.

His father, the chief of the Creators, had been sad that no new Creators with the manufacturing ability had appeared for a long time.

- The one born a thousand years ago was the last, but he could create only junk…

- The Great Spirits will be disappointed.

- Still, he was more skilled than the manufacturing gods.

- The blacksmith gods will be angry if they hear you.

- It is what it is.

While the manufacturing ability was rare, it was much more difficult to develop an ability with depth.

If the Creators were flowers, they had become extinct. This ability was supposed to be the backbone of the Creators.

Aslan had never expected his son to be born with such a precious ability! Moreover, Aslan could tell his son had untapped potential when he made Heaven’s Punishment. Lee Gun wasn’t destined to create junk items.

‘If father were alive, he would have shed tears on finding out that his grandson was a Creator with the manufacturing ability. He would have bragged about it everywhere he went.’

A manufacturing ability was like the air breathed by a Creator. It was the root of their tribe.

So his son possessing such an ability made Aslan feel an odd sense of pride.

‘Of course, he might have the ability, but he has a long way to go.’

When it came to manufacturing, one had to learn to become good with one’s hands. However, his son couldn't focus solely on manufacturing items. He had to fight at the same time.

Aslan had to watch his son get injured over and over again as he used his clumsy weapon. It was painful, yet the only thing Aslan could do was watch.

Until Lee Gun was able to meet Hugo, Lee Gun didn’t go to the city because he didn’t want the monsters chasing after him to harm the humans residing in the city.

This was why Lee Gun spent his nights in ruins, which had no heat. Aslan felt like his heart was being ripped apart as he watched Lee Gun shake from the cold while sleeping alone.

‘If only I had a body…’

He would be able to teach Lee Gun to do better. He would be able to show Lee Gun the proper way to manufacture items.

While his specialty wasn’t manufacturing, he would be able to help Lee Gun make higher-ranked weapons. It would allow Lee Gun to get hurt less.

However, Aslan was a soul, so no one could see him. It was impossible for him to touch anything. Aslan couldn’t even place a blanket over his son, who was shaking from the cold.

‘It doesn’t matter what it is. I just want a body!’

Aslan kept praying for it, and on that day, he was watching over Lee Gun. It seemed his son had realized his weapons were too weak.

‘If he wants to make a Divine weapon, he needs to put great effort into it. It isn’t just about talent.’

In truth, it was almost a miracle that Lee Gun had created the SS-rank Heaven’s Punishment. Afterward, he wasn’t able to make a decent weapon. The highest-rank weapon he created after that was B rank.

Lee Gun had realized this fact too, so he kept his research going. That day was the same.

‘Mmmm. It seems he isn’t making a weapon today. It looks like he’s making medicine of some sort…’

Was he going to work in vain today again…? No, it seemed he was trying to make a poison. Lee Gun had acquired a water tank that could fit forty people, and he was busily putting ingredients into the water tank.

The water tank was filled with the innards and eyes of monsters. There were powders created from unknown mushrooms. He had even included hair pulled out from somewhere unknown.

‘Is it poison he’ll use to kill monsters?’

It looked to be a powerful poison that could kill a monster with a single drop.

Of course, what Lee Gun was making didn’t matter to Aslan since he wouldn’t be doing anything. No, it was more accurate to say he couldn’t do anything. He was an existence that couldn’t be seen, heard, or touched.

‘I can only put faith in my child and watch.’

It didn’t matter if Lee Gun succeeded or failed. Only he could make the choices.

Still, Aslan was curious about what Lee Gun was making, so he kept looking over Lee Gun’s back. However, he soon became shocked when he saw the blueprint in his son’s hands.

[Beauty Skin Care Medicine (For Massage Use) (A)]

- Even a monster’s skin will be made smooth in an instant!

- It is extremely popular among gods and goddesses!

Aslan felt like dying because he had coughed through the wrong pipe. His son wasn’t making poison. He was making a skin product?!

‘He’ll plaster that on his skin?!!!’

He’d die as soon as he applied it!!!! He’d die because it was truly a deadly poison!!!!!

Soon, Lee Gun was finished putting in all the ingredients. He let out a satisfied smile as he tapped his hideous face.

“This will clear up my skin.”

It won’t clear up your skin!!!!! Aslan’s face was pale as he looked at his son. It was rare for him to have a mental breakdown like this.

‘I…I have to stop him!!!’
