Chapter 201 : Oracle

The sun was setting and the shining moon was rising in the sky.

After playing in the water, we visited Dormitory Three of the Hero Academy.

As during our previous Expedition Exam, we would reside in this dormitory during our stay.

“After all that swimming, I’m starving.” (Eleonore)

“I will have… three refills… for my… growth spurt…” (Zeshia)

“Yup yup. A good meal for a good growth.” (Eleonore)

Eleonore and Zeshia walked into the dormitory as they had that exchange.

“…I’m not hungry at all.” Sasha said, looking exhausted.

“What’s wrong? Are you feeling sick?” Misa asked her, looking worried.

“Kuhaha! It’s just that I had a bit too much fun playing in the water with Sasha and Misha. And they ended up literally drinking the water I splashed them with. They probably drank their stomachs’ fill.” (Anos)

As if displeased with my words, Sasha bared her canine teeth and glared at me.

“Who in the world would expect anyone to splash water with that much force?! You call that playing in the water?! I thought I was going to drown!” (Sasha)

“My belly is full.” Misha commented while rubbing her own stomach.

She also got splashed with water, and drank quite a lot of it.

“But In the second half of our game, they were able to avoid my water shots to a certain extent. Once you learn how to use your <Supreme Swimsuits Bi Kini>, they’ll become a considerable asset in underwater battles.” (Anos)

“…Say, I was wondering, was everybody wearing those <Supreme Swimsuits Bi Kini> when fighting underwater two thousand years ago?” Sasha asked in an apprehensive tone.

“Any problem with that?” (Anos)

The moment she got her answer, she grabbed her own head and shook it.

“I’m so glad I wasn’t born two thousand years ago, fighting for my life in clothes that barely cover anything.” (Sasha)

“Ahh, so that was your concern. Obviously, the <Supreme Swimsuit Bi Kini> alone doesn’t provide enough defense. In battle, we would wear armor and vestments on top of it.” (Anos)

“I see. That’s good to know.” Sasha said with a sigh of relief.

“That being said, wearing something on top of the <Supreme Swimsuit Bi Kini> will hinder its effectiveness to some extent. So in cases of surprise attacks or lightning wars where speed is of essence, you may want to fight only in your swimsuit instead.” (Anos)

“I hope it never comes to that.” (Sasha)

Sasha and Misha were next to enter the dormitory as she said that.

“Lay.” (Anos)

I called out to him as he was about to enter as well.

“I’m going for a little stroll.” (Anos)

Lay stared into the dark night, then turned to me with a refreshing smile.

“Don’t let me stop you.” (Lay)

After passing the dormitory, I proceeded down the road to Gairadite in the direction of a deserted area.

Eventually, I found myself in front of an old abandoned building.

It may have been a cathedral or something, as it was a stone structure with several pillars standing in a row. However, the windows and walls were damaged, and about half of the roof had fallen in on itself.

I entered that building.

When I reached the middle of the ruins, I stopped.

“No one will notice us in here. So why don’t you just show yourself already?” (Anos)

When I spoke up, the sound of footsteps echoed.

A man with long hair hiding one of his eyes appeared at the entrance.

He was wearing a scarlet uniform and an unusual ring.

“Hmm. You were also observing me back at the holy lake. What do you want?” (Anos)

Staring right at me, the man with the ring opened his mouth.

“Now please don’t pretend not to know that.” (Man with the ring)

“Unfortunately, that doesn’t tell me anything. Who are you?” (Anos)

The man with the ring answered my question in a firm tone.

“I am Ahid Alobo Agatse, the cardinal of Jiordal, the Kingdom of the Divine Dragon. As well as one of the Selected Eight, and an oracle.” (Man with the ring —> Ahid)

The Kingdom of the Divine Dragon, Jiordal? I’d never heard of that country. It didn’t exist on the map of the Magical Age, much less the Mythical one.

And I’d never heard of the Selected Eight either.

“Hmm. I’m afraid I don’t know any of those. Ahid, was it? Are you sure you’re not mistaking me for someone else?” (Anos)

“You are Anos Voldigoad, the misfit.” he said immediately without hesitation.

Oh-ho. He recognized my source.

Which meant he wasn’t just some average joe.

And it seemed that he really did come to find me.

“I know by way of an oracle that you, the king of demons, are invited to the Divine Selection Trial.” (Ahid)

Ahid held up his right hand by thrusting it forward, and pointed his ring at me.

“By the terms of our pledge, I demand that you appear. God of Selection, impart your judgment between me and this man.” (Ahid)

A divine pale light gathered into the ring’s jewel.

A fire lit up the red stone in the center of the transparent black stone, and the light drew a three-dimensional magic circle inside it.

Another three-dimensional magic circle was drawn inside of the first one, then they were stacked over one another, and the magic power inside them increased to a whole new magnitude.

The atmosphere trembled, and countless magic particles rose up around the area.

Those particles began to gather before Ahid’s eyes, and take a humanoid shape.

A being of enormous power was about to emerge from beyond those magic circles.

Hmm. That was summoning magic.

However, not even two thousand years ago had I ever seen one of this scale.

Not to mention, it was rare for the summoned creature to be humanoid.

What could he possibly be trying to summon?

“<Guala Nateh Forteos Selection God Summon>.” (Ahid)

As if the magic particles that had taken a humanoid shape were inverted, an immensely powerful person was summoned.

It was a beautiful, transparent girl.
