Chapter 198 : The delinquents of the Hero Academy
Zamira looked back at Lay with a troubled expression.
“…I will come back to talk to you at a later date.” Zamira said, as if wondering how he could win Lay over.
He was about to leave the main auditorium.
“One moment please, Headmaster Zamira. Our conversation isn’t over yet. Slaying dragons is an impossible job for the delinquents of the Hero Academy.” (Emilia)
Emilia stepped down from the podium and grabbed Zamira by the shoulder to hold him back.
“RAAAH! You’re just a teacher like any other, so give it a rest already! I don’t have time for such trifles. The King has ordered me to bring the Great Hero Kanon to him.” (Zamira)
Hearing this, Emilia cocked her eyebrows.
“So what if he’s the Hero Kanon? This is so idiotic. I’m not about to die on such an irresponsible request.” (Emilia)
The Hero Academy students stared at Emilia with dumbfounded expressions.
Probably because though she may have been a demon, a Demon King Academy staff member completely disrespected the name of the Hero Kanon.
“You wretch… What did you just say? You better not push your luck just because you’re a guest lecturer.” (Zamira)
Outraged, Zamira admonished Emilia.
“Did you just call the Great Hero Kanon ‘idiotic’? I’ll have you know this was a royal edict.” (Zamira)
“What are you suddenly so upset about? I’ve been telling you since earlier that this is irrelevant, and that doing something about this life-threatening assignment was more impo—” (Emilia)
Before she could finish her sentence, Zamira had thrown a punch at Emilia, sending her flying.
“Is that the sort of etiquette they teach in that Demon King Academy of yours?! Demeaning the King and Hero of another country?! This is beyond disrespectful!” (Zamira)
He and the royal court probably regarded the Hero Kanon differently from regular Heroes.
But to Emilia, they were the same.
With her hands on the floor, she turned to Zamira and sternly glared at him.
“Since it was on the request of the Demon King of Tyranny, we graciously accepted you as our guest. However, if you behave in a way we deem intolerable, we will have you sent back to Dilhade, is that clear?” (Zamira)
At that moment, Emilia fell silent.
Surely because if she were sent back Dilhade so soon, she wouldn’t be able to obtain that position she wanted.
“…My apologies…” Emilia uttered while staring at the floor.
If she had looked up, he would’ve seen her dissatisfied expression.
“You better mind your words and actions. I swear, first a bunch of phony Heroes, then an incompetent instructor? Nothing but scum in this academy.” (Zamira)
After saying his piece, Zamira walked away.
But as he did, one of the students sneakily stretched his leg out from his seat.
“Guoh…?!” (Zamira)
He tripped over it and fell face flat on the floor.
Due to his extra pounds, he was unable to stand back up right away, and after some struggling, he finally pulled himself up and glared at the student responsible for his blunder.
“Oops, pardon me. I seem to have stretched my leg a tad too much.” Ledriano declared while lightly readjusting his glasses.
“…You cur… Don’t think this will go unpunished…” (Zamira)
“Oh, who gives a damn?” (Raos)
Raos walked over and lifted Zamira’s body at once.
“Wha-…?! You filthy-…?! What the hell…?! Such insolence! Put me down!” (Zamira)
“Yeah yeah, I’m gonna do just that. So get the fuck outta here. You’re interrupting our class, baldy.” (Raos)
With all his strength, Raos threw Zamira towards the entrance.
He rolled on the floor and was slammed against the door.
“Guh…! Damn you…!” (Zamira)
Zamira angrily got back up, and glared at Raos.
“I hope you fools know what this display of violence is going to cost you.” (Zamira)
“Nope. Why don’t you tell us?” (Heine)
A blade shining a dark green glow was pointed at Zamira’s throat.
This was Zere, the Sword of Holy Land.
“Eek…! Y-You…!” (Zamira)
“Let it go. There’s not even a single scratch on all this fat you’re so proud of. Is there?” Heine said.
“Y… You’ll pay for this!” Zamira shouted as a parting threat before running away from the main auditorium.
“Ahahahaha! You heard that? Spoken like a real third-rate loser.” (Heine)
Heine laughed in mockery, and even the other Hero Academy students couldn’t help but chuckle.
“Are you alright?” (Ledriano)
Ledriano offered his hand to Emilia, who was sitting on the floor.
At that moment, the sound of someone smacking another’s cheek resounded.
That was Emilia slapping Ledriano.
“What in the world were you thinking?! Don’t just start causing trouble out of desperation like that! I took the trouble of putting up with him, and now it all went to waste thanks to you!” (Emilia)
“…Before that, don’t you think a word of gratitude or two would be in order?” (Ledriano)
“Are you stupid?! As a teacher, I’m responsible for my students’ actions! You do realize I will now have to see that guy again to butter him up, don’t you?! Do you have a grudge against me or something?!” (Emilia)
