Chapter 77: School Festival Part 2
Victor: “Wow…”
Ducard: “Hmm. So this is what the school building looks like.”
Bonalt: “It looks splendid.”
The three of them had went through body check and were wearing wristbands as the admission permit. They stood in front of the school buildings. It was their first time to see the building. The entrance gate was decorated with stars in accordance with their theme, Milky Way. The visitors looked around curiously as they entered the gate.
“I never thought that I’d have the chance to enter this place one day,” Victor said emotionally.
Bonalt gave a dry laugh. “Even an aristocrat like you would say things like that?” He felt out of place being there among the aristocrats and wealthy merchants.
“Come on. We should just enjoy this rare opportunity. Let’s go see Leader!” Ducard continued to walk looking unconcerned. He took a pamphlet and search for the location.
Ducard: “Leader is in 2nd Year Class A, right?”
Bonalt: “Yes.”
Ducard: “Then, we should go this way.”
He confirmed the location and passed the pamphlet to Bonalt. He led the way for them confidently.
Bonalt: “Wait. Why don’t we walk around slowly?”
Ducard: “We’ll have lots of time later after seeing Leader.”
Victor: “I agree.”
Bonalt: “….”
Bonalt knitted his brows looking at Victor walking next to Ducard. He followed behind them while reading the pamphlet. “It seems they have quite a number of programs. Why don’t we go watch the performance later? Hmm, Leader’s class is doing…”
He read through the list of programs and was confused when he found it. “Hitsuji[1] café?” He knew what café meant but was unsure about the word ‘hitsuji’.
Ducard: “It should be here, right?”
Victor: “It looks like it.”
Ducard and Victor stood in front the classroom, leaving Bonalt behind. The exterior of the classroom was decorated with pictures of green meadows and blue skies. There were fluffy white materials that looked like clouds floating up above using magic.
Victor: “Do you think Lea- Razé-sa….n is in?”
Ducard: “I don’t know. Wanna go in?”
The three guys stood at the entrance covered with the fluffy clouds. A female student saw them and asked awkwardly, “Would you like to have a sit and relax on clouds that are as fluffy as sheep?”
Bonalt and Ducard looked at the girl in the light blue maid outfit and felt that she looked familiar. Ducard already memorized the faces of people that were closed to Razé during the tournament before. “Oh. Aren’t you a friend of Razé-san?”
Folia was surprised to hear the name. “Huh! You know Razé-chan? My name is Folia. I’m a good friend with Razé. She’s not here at the moment. She’s doing a task for the steering committee. Her shift here will start at 2 o’clock.” Folia was a bit upset that Razé’s friends were unable to meet her.
Ducard: “So she’s not here?”
Folia: “Yes…”
At that time, the classroom door was opened from inside. Luca came out wearing a tailcoat like a butler.
Luca: “What’s wrong?”
Folia: “Ah, Luca-kun. They are here for Razé-chan.”
Luca: “For Granoli?”
Luca stood next to Folia and greeted the three men.
Luca: “Razé is out on a patrol.”
Bonalt: “I see. Thank you for letting us know. We’ll come again later.”
The three of them left the classroom.
Ducard: “2 o’clock. We still have a lot of time.”
Bonalt: “We might bump into Leader if we walk around.”
Victor: “That’s possible.”
So, the three of them decided to walk around the school building.
Victor: “Actually, I applied to Centrior before and failed.”
Bonalt and Ducard were shocked at his casual remarks.
Ducard: “I didn’t know that.”
Bonalt: “You really like to surprise other people.”
Victor shrugged his shoulder. “I thought about joining the military because I failed the exam. Looking at the situation, I thought I should rise up on a different stage. But when I joined the military, I was surprised to find out there was an amazing person there.”
Ducard: “And that amazing person become a scholarship student in Centrior.”
Victor heaved out a sigh. “Leader is really amazing. I totally respect her. In some way, that person is quite terrifying.” He thought the envy that he felt had overflowed and it was more like a feeling of reverence.
At that time, Bonalt noticed something and stopped his feet. “There she is.”
The other two men followed his line of sight. “!!!” Victor hold his breath and widened his eyes when he saw his superior that he missed wearing school uniform.
“Hmm. It didn’t take long to find her,” Ducard said calmly. He pushed Victor, saying, “Let’s go greet her.”
However, Victor turned his heel and tried to run away. “Ah. It’s fine. I’m already satisfied. Thank you.”
Of course, Ducard wouldn’t let him go that easily. “Hey. What’s wrong? Are you going to leave just like that without saying hello to her?” He put on a wicked smile and grabbed Victor’s shoulder.
“I can’t. I really can’t. Did you see her? I feel like I’m dreaming.” Victor had reached his limit after seeing Razé in school uniform. Her appearance suited her age when she was wearing a school uniform, and not a military uniform. This was what she was supposed to look like. The arrow of gap moe[2] had struck Victor’s heart. “I can’t do this. I should come again later. No, I should reborn again.”
“Stop talking nonsense. Let’s go and chase her.” Ducard dragged him mercilessly.
Bonalt stood at the side watching Razé while listening to their conversation. He stopped Ducard and said, “Wait. Take a look carefully.”
“What is it?” Ducard was puzzled. Then, he saw the person walking by Razé’s side and finally realized what Bonalt was trying to say. “The Prime Minister’s son… It’s him again.”
Ducard and Bonalt fell silent when they saw Adis standing next to Razé. Victor looked at their reaction and then turned to look at Razé and Adis. Suddenly, he felt like he was struck by lightning. “Huh! Could it be?!” He grabbed Ducard out of shock. “Are the two of them dating?!”
Ducard turned to Victor and told him to calm down.
Bonalt: “I didn’t hear anything from Leader but I’ve been suspicious about him since the previous tournament.”
Ducard: “Leader doesn’t seem like she had any interest with having a romantic relationship. It must be the guy that has feelings for her.”
Bonalt: “Yeah.”
Victor was unable to stay calm after listening to their conversation.
Bonalt: “… Shall we go observe the situation?”
Ducard: “I agree. We have to make clear of this matter here.”
It was an unexpected turn of events.
Victor was not so clear about the situation, so he started to get wild ideas about the relationship between Adis and Razé and making himself sad. “I’m still not mentally prepared to see Leader become someone’s wife. I still want to learn a lot from her. I don’t want her to quit. Leader, don’t throw me away～～～～”
Bonalt and Ducard: “Shut up!”
The two buddies ignored Victor, who was still mumbling to himself. Their gaze quickly locked onto the target. Bonalt was one of the few men with conscience in 537th SAB. He treated Razé like a sister, so he was very sensitive to the men around her side.
