Chapter 72: Preparation for the School Festival Part 6
Razé continued with her work silently. She took one of the documents piled up on the desk, checked and signed and then repeated the process dozens of times.
“Alright. Everything’s almost finished.”
Once in a while, she would take a break or go take a peek at Folia. She managed to finished the tasks right before the time for the school building would be closed.
I’ve done what I could, but…
She looked at the documents that she had checked with a glum face.
Adis: “You’ve finished these?”
Razé: “I think so…”
She answered vaguely.
Claude: “Is there anything wrong?”
Razé: “No. It’s just… If it was Carna-sama, she could point out more details. I was just checking the basic info only…”
Razé picked up a document that had been checked by Carna. On the paper, Carna had attached a note on how to improve the program for the school festival.
She was too meticulous, no wonder she barely had time to finish her work…
Razé wouldn’t say it to Carna because she knew she was very passionate about organizing this school festival. Being too meticulous was her strength and also her weakness. But when she compared Carna’s work with her own, she felt she had done a sloppy job.
It was the first time for Centrior to hold a school festival. If they explain to these aristocratic students that the class programs were normally just food stalls, they wouldn’t be able to understand the image correctly. Unless they explained in more details, the students wouldn’t have a clear direction.
It was important for her and Carna to lead the project because they knew the detailed concept of school festival from the memories of their past lives. Otherwise, the student might misunderstand and hired professionals to open a shop and the school festival would end up being a program where the aristocratic students produced business outlets. In fact, some of the business-minded students did submit such proposal, and Carna had to personally go and explain to them about the correct concept.
The conclusion was, Carna had put great effort in this project. Razé knew her plan perfectly well and could understand what she had done. Although Carna didn’t have working experience in this world, she managed to plan this project quite well probably because of her working experience in her previous life. Even though they were already adults in this world, what they were doing was beyond the scope of work that an ordinary student could do. Razé was impressed on how much their past lives could influence their current lives.
Looking at this desk full of documents reminds me of my office.
She put down the document back on the desk and stretched her shoulder. At that time, Folia and the other members in charge of the decorations came back to the office.
Razé: “How’s the decoration?”
Folia: “Everything is going well. Avro-sensei will join us tomorrow, so we plan to proceed with checking the layout for the sculptures.”
Folia reported with a confident face but Razé was feeling restless when she heard the name of their art teacher.
Sheena Vik Avro… I even have to look for the enemy while protecting these students. My work is so busy…
Avro was a spy from Magenda that had infiltrated the academy since 15 years ago. Razé felt a headache when she thought about Magenda’s obsession with crushing the golden eggs since ages ago.
She still hasn’t realized that we know about her identity. I’ve taken control of her contact route and the Shadow’s Eye have succeeded in capturing her collaborators. All I need to do now is just wait for the green light from the top level.
She recalled the incidents that had happened so far. She had been paying close attention to the people who had been visiting the library since the poisoning incident happened. After all, outsiders could also access the library in this academy if they had a permission. It was a perfect place for secret communication.
Originally, she felt Avro was suspicious when she mentioned the phrase ‘art is an explosion’. The phrase was famous in her previous life but didn’t exist in this game world. After doing some investigation, she found out that Avro regularly visited the library, and she was the one who had the murderous aura during the Battle Fiesta. They had narrowed down the target based on all the evidences they had collected so far.
Well, I was just making report and didn’t do anything.
This was very normal for a covert operation. Considering the opponent had spent fifteen years in the shadow, Razé felt a bit sorry for her because she had uncovered her identity in just a couple years.
I didn’t expect there really is a spy.
As a soldier, she had mixed among the students and had been living peaceful days. She had delicious meal every day, could take bath leisurely and had fun chatting with pretty female friends. She even thought that this mission was just a cover for her sabbatical leave. She got too used with living in a peaceful environment, that she almost forgot her original mission. In fact, she was more comfortable if she had a mission to accomplish as a soldier.
We need to eliminate Avro-sensei in secret so that the students won’t get shocked. I hope she won’t cause any trouble in the meantime.
When she turned to Folia, she saw her chatting happily with Claude and Ian. If the parents or guardians of the students knew that they had left the suspect at large for monitoring, they most probably would sue them. She felt like a villain working behind the scene.
“Alright. It’s late already. Let’s end our work here for today.”
Razé got up and planned to go have dinner right after she got back to the dormitory. Then she looked at Ruben and said, “I’m going to pick up Carna-sama.”
Ruben: “I’ll go with you.”
Razé had expected that answer and got ready to leave the room with him. When she opened the door, she was surprised by an unexpected guest.
“Granoli-kun.”
“Principal Harlens!”
“Can I see you for a while?”
She had planned to go meet him later and didn’t expect that he would directly come looking for her. She turned to look at Folia.
Folia: “Don’t worry! I’ll go and pick up Carna-sama.”
Razé: “Thank you.”
She shot a glance at Folia and Ruben, and then went out the corridor to meet Harlens.
Razé: “I’m sorry. I planned to go meet you later.”
Harlens: “It’s okay. Sorry for coming without notice. Have you eaten?”
Razé: “Not yet.”
Harlens started to walk down the corridor so Razé followed close behind him.
Harlens: “Okay. We can discuss while eating in my office.”
Then both of them teleported away.
* * *
Folia: “I wonder why Principal Harlens came to look for Razé-chan.”
Folia muttered to herself while turning to look at the corridor where Razé and Harlens went. She was just curious.
Ruben: “When I finished my meeting with Principal Harlens earlier, he was looking for her. I think it should be the same matter.”
“I see…Razé-chan has been busy too. I’m worried that she would get tired.” Folia recalled the time when she went to meet Lord Moldir during her break earlier. She was frustrated because he usually treated her like a child. But surprisingly he changed his attitude today and it made her happy. “I want to thank her later…”
Luca could sense her maiden-in-love mood. “I think you don’t have to worry about her.” He knew that Razé was supporting his love rival. Earlier today, Folia had said to him: “If I don’t go meet Zale-sama at 6 o’clock, I would cause trouble to Razé-chan.” That was how he knew that Razé was not on his side.
Claude: “I think so too. She didn’t look like she’s tired.”
Claude gave a dry laugh when he recalled how Razé had cleared the documents efficiently earlier.
Ian, who was walking next to him, put his hands behind his head and said, “Now that you mention it, I remember my grandfather used to say that woman is strong, so her partner must be a man that she can show her weakness to.”
His casual remarks echoed through the corridor.
