Through the narrow pathway in between the forest, the group of students were slowly making their way trying to keep the voice as minimum as possible.
Moving in a coordinated way, each one of them ran as fast as possible.
They only wished for the monsters to stop attacking them so that they may be able to get out of this place alive.
After departing from Lucas, Fredrick quickly caught up to the group led by Rose and he took the lead from there.
Parth frowned seeing Fredrick alone and asked"Where is Lucas?"
Fredrick without looking at him answered causally"He stayed back."
"What?" Parth was stunned and thought, he heard something wrong.
So, he asked again"What do you mean, he stayed back?"
"He decided to stop the monster from advancing and fend them off," Fredrick spoke in a calm tone but he was worried from inside and tried his best not to show his worry on his face.
"But why did he have to stay? Can't we all just..." Parth was cut off in the middle of his speech by Fredrick.
"It was his choice. It's only because of him that till now we haven't encountered any monsters in our back." Fredrick spoke as they moved forward. He clenched his fist, thinking about the safety of Lucas.
Everyone heard Fredrick's words and were stunned on hearing Lucas stay back to drag down the monsters.
There were only 60 of them left now. Out of these 60 , just how many of them will survive, no one knows.
Parth bit his lips and asked, "Will he be alright?"
"He will be.No, he has to stay alright?" Fredrick answered and his expression changed as he heard the whistling of water and seeing the bright light in front of him and an open field he concluded that they had finally arrived at the bank of the river.
Everyone took a breath of relief. Except for a few beasts along the way, they were sure they wouldn't encounter any monster from this point after all monsters are more frightening than beasts.
From here on, their chances of encountering any monster was quite less. They just have to follow the trail of the river which will lead to the Fortress of Aler.
Fredrick took out his smartphone to see if there was any signal only to get disappointed.
Still, if they can get closer to the city, there will surely be a signal and he will give a call to help from the city emergencies and report their situation to Horizon.
"Lucas, please hold one," Fredrick muttered.
...
Lucas was enjoying himself in making holes on these green shit muddle heads' bodies with his newly invented fire moves.
Lucas named this move fire bullet.
While he was shooting the fire bullets shots and taking down the weaker ones, Lucas didn't stay still. He knew the ones rushing first were just cannon fodder with the real commanding ones were at the back.
Lucas summoned the ice spikes and fired them along with the fire bullets.
He aimed the ice spikes at the F rank and the E rank goblins, especially the ones who were surrounded by weaker ones.
Boom.Boom.Boom
The ice spikes pierced thier bodies and collided with the ground with a heavy loud sound.
The goblins charging at the front in the goblin squad let out screams and howls in their language before rushing toward the single human before them but before they can reach them a small ball of fire hit them with a high speed making holes in their bodies.
They screamed in pain as the light of the fire passed through them. Some of them even died before they can scream.
Many of their heads burst to leave their lower body to run a small distance before colliding with the ones before them and falling into the ground while some were directly crippled when their limbs were torn apart.
No matter how hard they tried to swing their clubs to deflect the attack, it failed as even their clubs were destroyed and crushed to powder as they met on the mighty attack of the fire.
And if this was not enough to pin them down, following the ball of fire came huge spikes of ice.
The ice of spikes collided with them making a huge explosion blasting them away by the spikes.
The spikes made a loud noise, blasting the goblins in the air rendering them in a near-death state.
Lucas didn't reserve his mana. He emptied his last mana to the last drop, as he kept on bombarding the enemies one after another without giving them a moment of rest.
Lucas had an endless amount of potion as long he spent some exp he can replenish his mana and stamina to the max.
"Kikikii!!!" A tall and burly goblin carrying a large stone mace let a loud cry before rushing forward towards the goblin.
Lucas fired an ice spike at it's but with a large swing of its mace it's destroyed the ice spike coming towards it.
Lucas's eyebrows narrowed seeing the goblin who was strong enough to break the ice.
Lucas didn't waste his time admiring it.
"Flash steps."
Shouting flash steps, Lucas's image blurred and disappeared and like a gust of wind, he passed through the goblin's body appearing behind it.
The loud battle cry emitted from the huge burly goblin suddenly sized and be stood in the same spot without moving.
"Hmmm." As if a command was issued, on hearing Lucas's voice his head slid from his body and fall on the ground with a small thud.
From the beginning, Lucas has been observing these goblin's prowess. He was able to derive that these goblins are much slower compared to goblins who are quite fast.
The one he killed now though have a strength of an E rank but his speed is quite slow and is comparable to F rank.
So with Lucas's agility and prowess killing these types of enemies was nothing.
Lucas's face had become as pale as a sheet as he emptied his mana. The remaining goblins are stronger ones and his fire bullet and ice spike wouldn't have much effect on them unless he made a sneak attack on them
He had to deal with them with his swords.
Lucas took an intermediate mana potion from the shop and gulped it.
While Lucas was taking on the goblin at the front. Two goblins ran around arriving at his back and hiding in the nearby bushes waiting for an opening to perform a sneak attack.
Seeing the human before them unfocused and drinking something from the tube, they thought it was a good time to attack.
Holding their mace they jumped towards the man wanting to hit him from behind.
But before they can reach him, two daggers emerged from nowhere came crashing at them like the mighty waves slamming against a cliff, with a swift swish sound, the sharp tip of the dagger tore the air before it with a speed invisible to the naked eye.
Before they can even react, their heads were separated from their bodies.
Before dying the only vision they had was a black shadow appearing out of thin air crashing on them.
Lucas smirked as he looked back at the two goblins who tried to sneak attack were themselves sneak attacked by him.
He chuckled as he looked at the two daggers hovering in the air and then looked at the remaining goblins who had stopped their invasion.
Swish.Swish.Swish.
Three more daggers emerged from his storage rings and flew in the air hovering around Lucas.
Lucas took out the battle suit and clicked on it. The suit's fibres expanded covering his whole body like an enom parasite.
Wearing the suit made him remember the days when he used to enjoy watching the power rangers show and dreamt of having suits like them.
He didn't imagine his dream would ever be fulfilled.
The death of their kins didn't deter the remaining goblin warrior rather the look on their eyes coveted that death is not a punishment rather a reward and symbol of their valour.
Their mentality didn't differ from the veteran soldiers who take glory in dying on their battlefield.
Lucas couldn't bother with their stupidity. No matter how basic intelligence a monster had, a monster would always monster unless it was tamed with the cruellest means.
The goblins entered within fifty meters of Lucas's range, Lucas didn't bother with firing the fired bullet, not any other skills.
Dragging his right leg behind and raising his sword, he gathered mana on it and released the pressure of his strength. The mana in the air rippled as the pressure emitted from Lucas's body spread in all directions. The wind following the pressure made his hair covering his eyes fluttered.
His cold piercing eyes glowed with a golden tinge as he slashed his sword with all its might using his drifting sword technique with a roar.
"Die!!!! You green asshead!!"
His roar was followed by the splitting of wind by the slash of blades that tore the air slicing it as they emerged from his blade.
As soon as his swing ended, constant explosions of air bursting air apart sounded wherever the wind blades passed through which sounded like thunder announcing the arrival of a thunderstorm.
Lucas didn't stop with one swing and slashed his swords vertically followed by horizontally one after another.
Bang.Bang.Bang.Bang.
Wherever the wind blades went through it sliced the one that collided with it, blasting them off the ground cutting them in halves.
