The Extra's Survivalchapter 167: phantom reversaltechnique

After a super, duper hardcore training session..no it should be called as a bullying session, two figures with a rotten expression of agony and suffering were walking through the hallway while both of them were limping while taking the steps.

Lucas dragged his and Parth's body toward Parth's room while pulling him like ragged cloth.

Parth was too tired to walk back and Lucas had to carry him here even though he wasn't in a condition to walk himself.

In truth, Lucas had asked Aaron to go extra hard on them and try to beat them up as much as possible.

Lucas took Roan's card and swipe it down.

CLANK!

The door opened and Lucas pulled Roan inside and laid him on the bed.

Roan groaned as his back ached as he lay on the mattress of the bed and made a wounded expression.

"Ahhh!Lucas will I be alright."

"I think I am gonna die if this goes on," Roan spoke in a soft voice as drowsiness slowly started to descend on him.

"Hey, Roan don't sleep now. I have a protein shake which will make you feel good and is extra effective after the training" Lucas spoke.

Lucas went to the kitchen and came out with a glass containing yellowish-white milk and gave it to Roan.

Roan was unable to lift his hand to take the drink as he wasn't even able to move his hand an inch.

Every joint of his body ached and with each type, he moved his body a cracking sound was emitted from his body.

Lucas sighed and lifted Roan's head and borough the shake near his lips.

As soon as Roan took a sip, his expression became weird.

"Weeeeoooo!" Roan screamed.

"Lucas, what is this? It looks like a banana shake but it tastes like shit." Roan grumbled.

"What did you expect? You thought I was going to give you a smoothie" Lucas chuckled and forced Roan to drink it.

After drinking it, Lucas gave Roan some water to drink after which Roan passed out due to tiredness.

As soon as Roan fell asleep, Lucas's expression changed and pulling out a chair, he sat before Roan looking at him with a sharp gaze as if he was guarding him against troubles.

Lucas waited for some time after which Roan's body started to wriggle and thrashed around and veins started to bulge on his forehead.

Even after such an odd happening Roan was still in an unconscious state.

The mana in the room churned and hovered around Roan and envelope him.

Roan's pores opened and the mana gushed into his body. His body sucked and devoured the mana like a black hole.

After a few minutes, the weird phenomenon happening in the room was finally over.

Lucas took the air of relief as Roan's pained expression subsided and the vein bulging on Roan's body finally dispersed.

Lucas tensed expression finally calmed down and he stood up and muttered"With this, there will be no wall in front of you for quite a time."

Lucas took a final look at Roan before leaving and seeing everything alright, he opened the door to leave.

CLANK!

...........

In The Sword's Club.

The sword's Club which was always full of students was empty as students were quite busy in the tournaments and practised in their dorms.

But there was one who never forget to practice in the Sword Club as if it was his second home.

From the very day, he joined Sword's Club, he had never missed a day to visit the swords club unless he was out of the horizon.

His dedication and hard work had brought him countless appreciation and praise both from his juniors and seniors.

Ken, the President of the Sword's Club. His love for swords had made him reach the place where he was today.

As he was engrossed in his practice, a sudden voice snapped out of his practice.

He looked at the side of the training arena to see a boy with black hair and golden eyes looking at him with an expression of awe or respect.

Lucas saw that Ken stopped the practice and looked at him and as a junior, he bowed his head and greeted him"Nice to meet you, President."

"Nice to meet you again, Lucas," Ken spoke as he placed the metallic wooden swords back on the sword stand and wiped his sweat.

Lucas waited for him to finish and spoke"President, I heard you called for me."

"Yeah!" Ken exclaimed with embarrassment. He was so focused on practice that he forgot that he was the one who called for Lucas.

"First of all, Lucas congratulation on reaching round 128. If you win, you are gonna be in the top 100 in rank in the first year." Ken spoke.

"Thanks." Lucas nodded.

"Now, the reason why I have called you is that the sword committee is happy with your performance and will grant you a Grade 3 sword scripture for your hard work," Ken smiled and patted Lucas's shoulder.

"Really," Lucas exclaimed with joy.

Lucas couldn't believe what he heard and was shocked for a moment.

'Grade 3 Scripture. With this, my power will rise to another level.'Lucas muttered inwardly.

"By, the way President. Are you sure about giving a precious Grade 3 scripture to me?" Lucas asked in a polite tone.

"If you ask me, do you deserve this? Yes, you surely deserve it."

"If you look from the perspective of the committee. They are giving you this cause others don't want it." Ken spoke with a bitter smile.

Lucas frowned and his eyebrows twitched uncontrollably.

"Did, I heard something wrong?" Lucas asked with a confused expression.

"No, you didn't hear anything wrong," Ken said with a bitter smile.

"Why don't they want it?" Lucas asked.

"Listen besides you, there are three from the swords club who entered round 128. All of them are ranked above 500 and each one of them belongs to a noble household. Moreover, their household had their own sword style and each of them is equal to or above Grade 3." Ken explained rubbing his chin.

"Ohh!" Lucas exclaimed. If they belong to noble houses why would they want the things from Horizon in the end?

Martial arts taken from Horizon had a severe drawback, that is they are quite common.

It's not as if there are thousands of scriptures present out here. Most of the scriptures are the same which had been passed from generation to generation so most people are already aware of them.

Still, it's better than having nothing.

"So, follow me," Ken said.

Lucas followed Ken towards the Swords Club Vault.

Ken stood before the vault where two guards were present.

Ken gave his id and scanned his fingers and retina.

CLANK!

The guards opened the vault and both Lucas and Ken stepped in.

Lucas looked at the four high shelves where scriptures from Grade 1 to 4 were present.

"You can choose from Grade 3. Of course, you can choose from Grade 2 also if something caught your eyes."Ken spoke from behind.

Lucas nodded and walked toward the shelve where many Grade 3 scriptures were present.

These were the copy of the original scriptures and would be refurbished again when once chosen scripture.

Lucas rubbed his chin and thought about it. He has a Drifting sword style which is quite good for attacking.

Moreover, Lucas is slowly and steadily inventing his sword technique and move but he lacks defensive measures for now.

Running through the scripture, his eyes fell on one of the Scriptures in the Corner.

Lucas smiled and took it out.

[Phantom Reversal Technique]

One needs to have high perception and flexibility o execute this art. The user takes a neutral stance, his senses heightened to a great extent which allows the user to react to the opponent's moves in all possible directions within the range of the user's senses. It also allows the user to block the opponent's attack and allows the user to unleash a deadly slash capable of tearing everything in the path of the sword.

Lucas's eyes glowed gleefully and nodding his head in satisfaction, he took the sword technique.

Ken looked at Lucas finishing the job and both of them head out.

On the way, Ken asked Lucas which techniques he took.

Lucas showed Ken the scripture and Ken rubbed his chin and spoke" This is quite good for both offence and defence but the only downfall is one needs to train his perception and need higher perception to be compatible with it."

"Since most of them find it cumbersome, they ignore the thing."

"Are you sure about taking this?" Ken asked raising his brows.

"Yeah, I am a lot sure about it." Lucas nodded.

"Good."

"But Lucas let me remind you something. Scriptures should be used as a preference to make your own style or to find your compatible techniques"

"High-Grade scripture may sound great but someone who had developed his technique even if it is Grade 1 and practices it to the epitome of perfection, can easily beat the higher grade technique user one who hadn't mastered it," Ken spoke with a serious expression and advised Lucas.

His words were quite similar to the quote from the legend,' I don't fear the person who mastered thousand of moves but I fear the person who practised one move thousand of times.'

Lucas was working on his crimson sword slash or so-called. He can feel that it can become a great signature move but he can't find the right touch and feels something is lacking.

Still, he should happy about what he had right now, instead of rushing and ruining things.
