By the time of the 4th war, he had already lost most of his colleagues. Whether it was in the form of death or betrayal.
Diablo was all alone.
It was safe to say that he was virtually defeated in the war with the 12 Gods. But he didn’t want to give up. He had lost a lot and had nothing more to lose. Even if he gave up on everything, he wanted to bring down the 12 Gods.
And then she appeared.
“You are one pitiful person.”
It was Venus, the Queen of the Shadow World known to exist behind the world. Occasionally, she would come out into the world to enjoy excursions, but she couldn’t get herself to like this world polluted by the Gods.
And then she came to know about Diablo Volfir. A human who opposed the 12 Gods. She watched him move with interest.
He was a great human being. A group of so-called heroes. Out of all, Diablo was an outstanding leader.
Compared to the 12 Gods, these people were all significant humans, but at some point they began to overtake the Gods.
It was interesting for Venus, who was just a bystander.
But the reality was grim. He tried to overtake the 12 Gods’ stronghold, but just touched the ‘passing level’.
“Are you going to give up?”
The 4th war ended in defeat.
It was an overwhelming defeat. His power which seemed to threaten the 12 Gods collapsed so easily.
And the losers mourned. And Diablo, who was alone, was no different.
But it was his eyes. Despite having nothing left, Diablo’s eyes were full of life.
And he said to Venus.
“I need time.”
It wasn’t known then what those words meant, but Venus guided Diablo into her world. Diablo did nothing in the Shadow World. Watching him wasn’t fun anymore, but she kept watching him.
And then, Diablo asked her.
“Let me use your world.”
Venus wondered what kind of request it was, but Diablo never answered her questions.
She knew it was stupid to allow someone touch her world, but her life was boring. How long would she wait for something to come?
12 Gods. She wanted to bite those things. So she let him use it.
From that day on, Diablo Volfir was stuck somewhere and never came out.
Years had passed.
Venus forgot about him.. she cut off her interest in the world, where the 12 Gods had influence and slept.
“It is complete.”
Diablo appeared suddenly and spoke to her sleeping self.
What did he do?
The Shadow World existed long before she was the queen. It held so much power. But dealing with the power was a different thing. And even she, the Queen of Darkness, praised as one of the Great Spirit Kings, couldn’t understand her own world.
And said,
“Show me.”
Diablo Volfir, the Great Magician who was unrivalled in humans. She expected something.
“Thanks to that, we were able to create a new source of power.”
With a beautiful dark light rising from his hand, Diablo was reborn as a mighty dark magician.
“But in the end I was defeated, and you might have known that I was killed…”
Venus had an interesting expression at the changed appearance of her close friend whom she hadn’t seen for a long time.
Diablo Volfir who created the ‘black mana’ in her world had ascended to the ground. And with his own strength he faced the 12 Gods.
With the new power in his hands, he was extremely powerful and then drove several Gods to the brink of death. But the result was still defeat.
Diablo Volfir, reborn as a dark magician, once again was defeated and disappeared.
But, now he had the appearance of a young human?
“What is with that cute face?”
“I wish you could put some clothes on first.”
Jamie pointed at Venus, who was sitting naked with her legs crossed.
“They are uncomfortable.”
“I wish you would take care of people who came to your world.”
“There are many things I too want for the subject who came to my world. Besides, you aren’t a human.”
Venus got up with an annoyed expression. Although taller than most men, with a voluptuous body which couldn’t be compared to anyone, she still had the figure of a human woman.
Long ago, it was said that this body was of the most beautiful human she had seen on her trip to earth.
Venus stretched out her hand and pulled the darkness and wrapped it around her shoulders like a cloak.
“Good?”
“A lot better.”
“Right. It mustn’t have been easy to come here, right?”
Venus sat down again, and Jamie nodded.
Actually, he wanted to come several times. It wasn’t like he couldn’t remember this world. He just couldn’t come because he couldn’t find the material to open the door.
So, when Kiriel said she was entering the Shadow World, he was inwardly screaming with joy inside.
“A human wanted to come here. At the same time, had the ingredients prepared, so…”
“So… you took something in return for me giving permission to the human.”
“You are as smart as ever.”
“You aren’t so bad either.”
Venus got up clicking her tongue. And her throne turned to bubbles.
“What happened? Did something happen?”
For Jamie, Venus was one of the few people he could trust.
More precisely, it didn’t matter if she knew something. She wasn’t on anyone’s side. If asked, she liked Jamie as a friend and hated the 12 Gods, that was all.
For Venus, the ruler of Shadow World, what happened on earth was pure entertainment.
“I don’t know. I was sealed by them and when I came back to my senses I was inside this body.”
“Sealed? Not killed?”
“They couldn’t kill me.”
“Shocking.”
Venus walked over to Jamie’s side, put a hand on his shoulder and turned. As she brought her dark red lips to his ear.
“So, what next?”
A voice full of excitement.
Jamie knew what Venus was like.
Strong curiosity in things she liked and adventurous. And Diablo Volfir, the one she had the greatest interest in, had reappeared.
And now that she knew. She couldn’t hold back her excitement. To which Jamie responded.
“First, I need to restore the power I had in my prime.”
“Well, you are weak right now.”
Her wine colored hair tickled his nose. Venus walked forward. Darkness rippled as she walked. The darkness around turned into a black dress which covered her purple skin. And looking back, Venus said.
“It would be nice to watch it.”
It had been long. And she was tired of sleeping. She got tired from moving around on the boring lands.
It was about the time when she was bored and decided to wage a war with other spirit worlds.
“Don’t let me down this time.”
“Were you upset back then?”
“Huhu. It was pretty upsetting that you couldn’t get those people with the power made in my world.”
Venus wasn’t on Jamie’s side. Jamie was simply an object of pleasure for her.
Jamie smiled knowing that. A simple relationship.
“Anyway, the permission?”
“Hmm. Why does the person want to come here?”
“Seems like she wants to head to the afterlife.”
“Ha…”
Venus smiled.
“There still seem to be humans who have such greed.”
“The decision is yours.”
“My pleasure has returned after a long time, so I will allow this. It wouldn’t be a bad sight for me either.”
A happy smile spread on Venus’ lips.
Jamie nodded and turned around.
With the permission from her, Kiriel would be able to do what she wanted.
‘Though I don’t know what she would want to do.’
Everything was Kiriel’s own choice.
“Come in.”
“… did it work?”
“Come in before the Queen changes her mind.”
The Lord of the Shadow World was a woman?
Kiriel was shocked by it, but it wasn’t that important to her. She could finally enter that place. And through it, she could enter the afterlife.
The thought of meeting her son. She couldn’t even remember how long she had been trying to do this.
She followed Jamie through the door. Black and gloomy darkness greeted her.
“This is the Shadow World…”
“Go ahead and you will get there.”
“You won’t come with me?”
“Only Miss Kiriel was allowed.”
“…Avalon was placed under the counter.”
“Yes. Then, good bye for now.”
Jamie bowed to her and walked away when Kiriel called for him.
“I am grateful to you. Even though it was a contract, I was able to enter this world with ease because of you.”
At that, Jamie felt bad.
He sighed and said this was something she didn’t have to mention. And thanked her for being able to get All Might back.
Kiriel was walking in when Jamie turned to her and said.
“Don’t be greedy
.“
Kiriel went away without answering him. Seeing that Jamie shook his head.
“The moment you get caught in greed, you won’t be able to escape from it.”
Jamie walked out hoping she could hold herself together.
And the door to the Shadow World closed. It won’t be difficult to open it from the inside if Kiriel wasn’t too greedy
But Jamie knew.
‘Kiriel won’t come.’
Afterlife.
The world of the afterlife which was known like that, isn’t a world where the dead go.
It was a hell that blinded the living and held them forever. If one wasn’t blind, they could get out of the grasp of that world, if not…
“Let’s end it here.”
Jamie grabbed the Evolve Avalon and exited the shop. Siegfried leaned against the wall waiting for him.
“Did the contract end clean?”
“Yes. Very clean.”
“The contents of the contract… forget it. Since you can’t say it. We must leave Saint-Dermain too.”
“Yes.”
And the two disappeared.
