Rise of The Anti God (Web Novel)chapter 782: teamwork is key

"I am over here, dick!" A woman's shout came from behind as a fiery arrow struck the back of the giant ghoul, making him turn around with an enraged look.

Lily was surprised since it was not Yuria but Linda who suddenly came out of nowhere and distracted the ghoul.

And based on the screen projected from her wrist, Jake, Berret, and Ana were also nearby.

It seemed as if they had learned she and her sisters were in trouble and came to their rescue, making Lily feel quite relieved.

But she was worried that Linda got herself in trouble for their sake, seeing how she was the only one standing in front of this giant ghoul, taunting it to come towards her.

"Come get me dickhead. Or are you too scared?" Linda asked with a mocking smile which only enraged the giant ghoul even more as he charged towards her with a wild roar, "DIE HUMAN!!"

He also grabbed the machete he had dropped to chop her up nice and slow to make her regret whatever insults she threw at him.

But right when he was about to slash her arm off, a small green orb flew into his sight, making him pull his brows together with a confused look.

"KAGHH!" The giant ghoul stumbled back with a grimace as he coughed and wheezed while trying to clear the air in front of him by waving his hands.

Yuria had her lips parted as she saw that this strange green cloud of smoke actually somehow stunned the giant ghoul.

"Nice work, Ana! Berret, corner him!" Jake's voice echoed from the side as he and Berret rushed toward the giant ghoul.

Berret took out his giant metal shield and threw it into the air and towards the giant ghoul. Lily wondered what he was doing, but her eyes widened in astonishment as she saw the giant shield suddenly becoming bigger and extending in every direction before fixing itself to the ground and surrounding the giant ghoul.

"Yaargh!!" The giant ghoul could sense these humans trying to trap him and was about to fly out when Jake took out his spear and stabbed at one of the legs of the giant ghoul as bright blue lightning streaks danced around his spear and then spread around the giant ghouls' body, making his body shiver under the onslaught of all the lightning streaks.

Lily and Yuria knew lightning cultivators existed in the Old World, unlike their Rising Sun Continent, where Damien was the only lightning cultivator to exist presently.

Still, seeing the color of Jake's lightning, they couldn't help but wonder why Damien's lightning was purple in color and sometimes even an eerie jet-black whenever he went all out.

She could see that Jake's lightning was preventing the giant ghoul from escaping as it continued to get electrocuted.

And by now, Berret's metal shield had already surrounded the giant ghoul from every side and even covered the top with metal as well, sealing him in a fortified metal box.

Lily, Reva, and Yuria wondered if they were simply planning to trap the giant ghoul inside the metal box since he eventually would definitely break out.

But as if they hadn't seen enough surprises, Linda flew up and shot five blazing arrows toward the metal box, surrounding it from different directions.

The moment all five of them surrounded the metal box, the flames coming from all the arrows suddenly became even more stronger and connected to each other, forming a circle of flames.

And within the next few moments, Yuria, Reva, and Lily watched with raised brows as they saw the metal box getting red hot.

Only now the three realized that these four were planning to cook the giant ghoul alive by trapping him inside that metal box.

However, just as they wondered if the giant ghoul would get hurt by this, they heard wild howls and screams of a ghoul getting burned to death.

"YAARRGHHHH!!! AARRHGHHH!!!"

All his screams were muffled because of the metal box, and these three couldn't believe how these four managed to corner such a giant ghoul who was this close to killing all of them.

"Valentina! Are you alright?!" Lily sensed Valentina walking towards them and rushed towards her upon seeing blood trickling down her lips.

"I am fine…It was nothing," Valentina said in a stiff tone as she used her ethereal energy to clean the streak of blood flowing down her lips.

Reva and Yuria could see that Valentina was pretending she was alright when she seemed to have suffered internal injuries and wasn't healing as fast as she should. They all very well knew why she wasn't and could only sigh helplessly.

The screams and howls of the giant ghoul finally died down as Linda approached them with a concerned look, "All of you are fine, right? We were nearby when we sensed you guys were having trouble. That ghoul was quite a nasty one. I am surprised you all managed to stay alive till we came."

Lily had a blinking expression as she saw a charred bag of flesh and blood when Berret summoned his shield back. She gave a subtle bow as she said, "Thank you for saving us before the worst could happen. We hope that we can also take down such powerful ghouls as you and your team did," Lily always thought individual strength mattered the most.

But Linda and her team were individually weaker than her and her sisters. Yet, when all of them worked together, they even managed to beat that giant ghoul, which Lily and her sisters couldn't.

Now she understood why during their last week's training, Alex stressed that teamwork was the most important thing that was going to help them survive.
