"Bought enough time? You mean you were able to slow it down?" Reva asked with knitted brows.
Damien nodded, "I am not powerful enough to stop it, but I think we now at least have a few years to think rather than rushing to the Old World without any preparations."
"Whew, that's a relief. At least the people wouldn't be forced to leave their homes for a while," Lily said with a relieved smile.
"I suppose now a certain somebody wouldn't be happy that his plans got messed up," Yuria giggled.
The Lancaster Emperor let out a chuckle of disbelief as he curiously asked, "How…How did you exactly do it? None of us were able to find a way to do anything about it. We consider ourselves to be experts, but when it came to that, we had never felt so helpless. I couldn't even stay inside for long. It was just making me feel so uncomfortable."
"The main reason is that place is filled with death. Ruthren had killed almost at least a good portion of the Shizar Kingdom's subjects, including even the Little King, who was barely ten years old," Damien said with a saddened sigh.
"That sweet kid is dead?" Yuria mumbled in a voice of disbelief though the next moment, her expression turned into one of indescribable anger.
"Yuria…" Lily didn't really know who the Little King was, but she could see that Damien and Yuria spent some time with that kid and hugged Yuria gently to comfort her.
"What a monster…He can't even spare a kid," Reva mumbled coldly while wishing her father would just drop dead already before he could take any more lives.

He had never committed any atrocities in public, nor were there any bad rumors surrounding him. But I always had this gut feeling that there was something wrong with him. Sigh….," The Lancaster Emperor let out a disappointed sigh as he shook his head.
"To be honest, nobody could have called him out, Your Majesty. He is extremely intelligent and seldom makes any mistakes. We only found out about him mostly thanks to Reva and Lily. But if we stand together, then we can take him down before he causes any more damage," Damien said with a sharp light in his eyes.
"Are you sure you want to go against him now? Why don't you wait for a few—"
Damien suddenly activated his Undying Wrath as his aura exploded like a volcano and spread throughout the hall, making the Lancaster Emperor's jaw slack.
Even Lily, Reva, and Yuria had astonished expressions upon noticing the significant increase in the strength of his aura. All three of them couldn't help but smile proudly.
The Lancaster Emperor was truly blown away since the aura that he was feeling from Damien seemed to be heavy and powerful enough to even make him feel the pressure. Wouldn't this mean that this young junior was already in his league?
It wouldn't even be wrong to say that he might even be among the top five strongest in the continent.
This was just difficult to process since never in history had anyone able to achieve some insane growth in two years. He had already done a background check on Damien and knew that he was coming from some small family in the Rong Empire. What was more surprising was that people knew him as a cripple who couldn't even possibly fight off a wild animal.
And now here he was, the same boy wanting to go against the strongest person on the continent.

I can see how special you are, Damien, and I also have no doubt you will one day be stronger than Ruthren for sure. But if you already feel confident, then you have my support."
A smile began to light up Reva's face as she heard his words since this would mean that they would have such a huge backing from one of the strongest empires on the continent. All along, it was only the Forsaken, a small band of people from a long-gone empire against Ruthren.
But now, they finally stood a fighting chance for real. Lily was also elated to hear it since she no longer had to worry about her empire going down because she ran away.
Otherwise, the guilt alone would have killed her peace and happiness.
Yuria felt that things were turning out better than expected, especially considering the fact that Damien could still call on the Gale Empire, especially Kale, to help him after everything he had done for him.
"But there is one problem," The Lancaster Emperor continued with a complicated expression.
"And that is?"
"We won't be able to open the gates in the future without him. As you said, we would only have a few years before this continent is in danger again. There are four keys, and he holds two of them while the third one is with Daugmir. We would need them both when the time comes," The Lancaster Emperor said.
Damien's expression relaxed as he said, "That is of no issue, Your Majesty. I already have a way that does not require the cooperation of those two. All I ask is that you trust me on this. When the time comes, you will be one of the first to know."

Well, since you even saved the continent and bought us time, I suppose I can place my trust in you regarding this matter as well. But remember…you are undertaking a huge responsibility here. This continent and every single person on it would be placing their trust on you and not just me."
Damien softly smiled, "I know, and I won't fail their trust."
