"But that would mean our barrier's durability would decrease. It will be a great price to bear," Blake, who was standing beside Shania, said in a concerned tone, making sure Irene was aware of what she was trying to do.
"Look at the state of our barrier after just a single attack from them. Is there really a point in maintaining this thing's durability when we will get done with just two more attacks? It's better to slow them down with our own attacks and buy more time. I don't want any of our people to die for nothing," Irene said as she pressed her lips together.
Shania sighed and nodded as she activated the ability to attack the army outside from within.
The imperial army was busy charging up another attack and was about to launch it as well, only to be in for a huge shocker as they saw multiple experts from within the barrier launching their own attacks, quickly but with immense power behind those attacks.
They had no choice but to cancel the attack, which they were busy charging up to put up defensive barriers to protect themselves, though it was too late.
*BOOOM!!*
"AARGH!"

An entire regiment within the imperial army immediately got wiped away as the ground shook under the numerous attacks from the dozens of experts in the Forsaken base.
The commander above in the skies who had given the order before to attack was enraged to see such an underhanded move from the enemy.
But he was also excited at the same time as he thought that the Forsaken people were dumb to expose themselves as well by attacking them. And so he shouted, "Men, attack at will!"
The entire imperial army stopped using ethereal formations but instead used their own hands and ranged weapons to throw attacks at the Forsaken experts.
Thousands and thousands of ethereal rays, spikes, and projections shot towards the Forsaken camp, and anybody who witnessed such a spectacular yet frightening sight would surely think that the Forsaken base would be decimated to mere dust under these numerous attacks.
But the imperial army was in for yet another shocker when all their attacks were swallowed by the Forsaken base's barrier, though the cracks from the previous attack were still present.

How could this happen? How can there be such a powerful barrier to let them attack and defend at the same time?
They had no idea that this barrier was designed by the ancestors of the present Zirians, who were once powerful experts of their time, and it was designed in such a way to absorb and diffuse attacks throughout the barrier to minimize damage as much as possible.
But a powerful and concentrated attack like the one the imperial army first used using ethereal formations can cause significant damage to the barrier. The imperial army weren't idiots to not realize this, but how could they charge up their attack while trying to defend against the experts of the Forsaken's attacks?
However, the generals of the imperial army were well trained to quickly act in these situations, and so they constructed their own defensive barriers using ethereal formations to construct a large, powerful ethereal shield to block the attacks of the Forsaken experts while their men could charge another attack using their offensive ethereal formations.
Despite seeing all these exchanges of attacks from both sides, the Xeton Emperor had an indifferent expression as if he couldn't care more about the weaklings fighting below him.
His eyes were on Damien as if he was trying to observe something from him.

By watching Reva, he was able to quickly pick up some skills to modify these teleportation formations and thus was able to lend a hand to her.
"Oh no…This isn't working. They have put up their own defensive barrier while charging up another attack at the same time. How are we supposed to stop that attack if our barrier is weaker than before?" Blake asked worriedly.
All the silver and blue masked forsaken cultivators were getting exhausted after sending attacks one after the other towards the imperial army continuously, and seeing them put up a defensive barrier only exacerbated the despair in their hearts.
There were still around 100 Zirians left to escape from this base other than the experts gathered around to defend against the imperial army. Irene didn't want to lose any of them since she knew how hard it was to nurture an expert from within, and recruiting from outside was always a risky matter.
The Haley Family was remaining silent and busy because of Drake going missing, and that was why Yara Haley was not present here. This only made things tougher for Irene as she had no one to count for backup, and she didn't want to take any risks by calling for help from certain people.
But Irene wasn't ready to give up just like that and firmed her will as she raised her hand and closed her eyes as she channeled every single wisp of the ethereal energy inside her body, making her aura flow over like a river.
The imperial army became alert and vigilant when they saw the most powerful expert and the infamous leader of the Zirians, the frail old woman who looked as if she might collapse any second, raise her hand.
Damien felt the winds getting more turbulent and the intense vibrations in the air that seemed as if the air was being shredded apart. He turned around to see Irene raising her hand and had a blinking expression when he looked up at the air above her.
The imperial army also had stumped expressions when they saw what was being formed right above Irene, up in the air.
