"Oi. Wasn't that Gray?" Axel asked.
"You thought so too right?" Luke replied. "I wasn't sure because he looked so much more different. He's no longer skin and bones like before Did you see his muscles? Someone's been going Gym." He added.
"And that girl he was with? Wasn't she a amazing? Her smooth long pink hair, perfect face and those curves… She's definitely a 10 out of 10!" The third member of the group spoke up. "You don't think they're dating do you? I mean, that's Gray! Who in their right mind would date him!?"
This one was much bulkier than the other two. Bald with brown eyes. He was munching with a look of envy at the donut in his hand.
The lone wolf, stared in the direction where Gray had left. A serious look could be seen on his eyes.
"Who cares, whether he has a girl or put on some muscle. That dog dared to ignore us." Said Axel with a grin.
As they explored around, the group got to know more and more about the dome shelter and the rules behind it.
The dome they had first entered, was the main dome, it was where all the shops, entertainment, medical and all other types of facilities were. Each card which they had been given held a certain number of points, these points could be used to buy on things from said facilities.
Gray, Kylo, Lita and Aurora each started off with 100 points on their card. After doing some research, they had discovered that a canned drink was worth 5 points on average, meals from restaurants averaged between 10 and 15 points and arcades and casinos averaged around 20 at minimum.
Rather expensive, nevertheless there were quite a lot of people at the casinos. Turned out that even in the apocalypse gambling is still a problem.
Gray wasn't exactly sure how to earn more points, Aurora had overheard someone mentioning that you had to do jobs provided by the job center or work for the military. Apparently those with abilities were well off while those who weren't were…
Gray's head drifted off to the far distance, he could see a few people around the edge of the domes, sleeping on cardboard boxes, with signs with writing asking for points.
For this fact alone, Gray made sure not to spend any of their points until after checking the price for their rooms.
As he had expected, all the rooms were in another one of the domes, this dome was huge, it seemed even bigger than the previous one. There were separate floors and separate rooms, labeled by numbers and letters.
Gray could tell just by looking that the room at the highest floor covered a bigger area than the ones at the bottom, he instantly assumed that the higher the floors went, the more valuable the rooms.
"What rooms are you guys in?" The guard standing by the dome door asked.
The four of them looked at the back of their cards. Room 48C was on the back of Gray and Aurora's card, whereas room 49C was in the back of Kylo and Lita's card.
'Thank you god, whichever god blessed me with this fortune.' Gray thought to himself.
And then he suddenly remembered-
Whenever he experienced fortune, misfortune was sure to follow. Because of that, he had his guard up.
Fortunately for him, nothing seemed to happen as the guard gave them instructions to head to their rooms.
"Floor C… Each day will cost 30 points, the pay will be split by the tenants but if I were you, I'd start looking for a job."
'Of course things wouldn't be free.'
"Any questions?" He asked.
"Are the waters in the room sterilized?" Gray asked.
"No, they're not sterilized, we're feeding everyone polluted water so we can have an outbreak from within." The guard, remarked in a sarcastic tone..
Upon doing so however, he received a sharp glare from Aurora as the temperature in the room seemed to drop.
"Okay, thanks. Jackass…" Gray mumbled under his breath as he grabbed Aurora by her hand, the two kids followed after.
They walked over to the designated rooms, the walk wasn't that long but there were definitely a large number of rooms on floor C. On the way, Gray was lost in his thoughts.
His mind was still replaying the interaction which had happened recently. He really didn't expect for those guys to be alive.
The memories of the suffering they had caused him, constantly flashed by his mind. Even now he wondered, whether or not he would just say fuck it and go deal with them.
However, he couldn't and he knew it. He looked over at Aurora, and the two siblings. He had finally gotten them here so he might as well take responsibility and find their mother first and get the quest over with.
"I think it's this one here." Said Aurora as she suddenly stopped and inspected the door number.
48C and a little further down was 49C.
A single automatic reinforced metal door, with a key card scanner beside the door frame. Gray scanned his card and just as he expected, it opened.
"Kylo, Lita, do you two need us to show you around the room?" Gray asked.
"Of course not. Hmph" Lita replied snorting with attitude.
'What does this kid have against me?' Gray questioned as another vein popped out on in his forehead.
"Lita, that's rude." Said Aurora with a smile as she patted her. "Don't you have anything to say to Gray who got you and your brother here safe?" Aurora asked with a gentle expression.
"Eh- Ah…"
Her cheeks grew swollen as she hung her head. She babbled under her breath, barely audible. "Th-Tha-Thank yuuu…"
Aurora then looked at Gray with a smile as if waiting for his reply.
'You can't be serious?'
"Honestly, that kid…" Gray muttered as they closed the room doors and locked it from within with their cards.
They put their hiking bags down and leaned it against the wall, before inspecting the room. A nice double bed room, a drawer, a closet, a TV and a bed even.
It seemed like a hotel room, all the sheets were clean and in perfect condition. It was as if they were never in the apocalypse in the first place.
Without wasting any time, he leaped onto the bed. It's soft and cozy sensation made his whole body relax.
"Ah~ This is bliss…" Said Gray.
Fortunately, he had been wearing a new set of clothes which they had offered as his previous one had been soaked in the blood of the zombies he had slain. They were definitely surprised but didn't question him much on it.
They also sterilized his body by rubbing disinfectant all over him, but he should still probably take a shower.
After taking her shoes off, Aurora too, leapt onto the bed, directly on top of Gray before sinking her head into his chest and giving him a tight hug before saying. "You're right. It is bliss." With flush red cheeks.
Gray's heart skipped a beat.
'C-Cute…'
