"Today midnight is the time we'll launch the raid." Said The corps executive.
"Is everything ready?" The president asked.
"We've lost many of our members to the nobles, but we'll still be able to manage. I have squads hidden on all sides of the city." The Corps Executive replied.
"Well Then… I guess this is it… either we succeed, or it'll be our motherlands fall."
Alarms wailed form the inside of the base as the soldiers instantly began making a move. Those who had been training with their abilities looked visibly worried.
"What's going on?" The president asked.
"We're under attack." The Corps executive replied.
Upon saying so, two secretaries suddenly ran into the room. Soldiers could be seen outside waiting for them.
"Excuse us for entering without permission, however it's an emergency sir! We should escape!"
"How many are there?" The corps executive asked.
"J-Just one!" The Secretary replied.
Outside of the corps base, countless kilometres outside of the city in a highly guarded facility.
A slick black-haired man cloaked with a unique family crest on the back, could be seen walking through the defences.
The military men fired off at him, launching their abilities simultaneously.
But not a single bullet or ability had hit as they had come to a stop as they came to contact with an invisible force just inches away from his body.
The bullets could be seen floating, moving in the air as it was implanted into this invisble force in the shape of a wall.
The black-haired man swung his arm down and one by one, their heads burst creating a path for him to walk through.
He continued walking before reaching the closed off steel which led underground, with a simple glance, the door burst open and a staircase which led downwards could be seen.
Without wasting any time, he began his march down.
[Defeat your origin.]
The scenery changed again.
Gray found himself standing in the middle of a large hall. Golden sculptures could be seen laying around the edges.
A bright light fuelled by ancient technology lit up the room from the ceilings.
Seated ahead of Gray was a man with a golden crown in his head.
Long Gray hair flowing down his chest. Golden yellow eyes with dark circles beneath them.
He had a trimmed beard, and shredded physique. The man appeared to be in his late twenties at most.
Scales could be seen beside the edges of his eyes, running along the side of his face.
Without noticing Gray, he continued to fidget around with the skill orb ahead of him. An unamused look and bored look could be seen in his face.
Gray took a step forward in surprise, and the man's eyes widened as he sent a death glare towards him. "Who goes there?" He asked.
"Gray Caliber." Gray replied.
At that moment, his body became visible and time stopped.
[Time Stop.]
Gray's figure froze with a surprised look printed on his face
The king glared at him, wondering just who he was and how he had gotten here. After that, he noticed Gray's hair colour.
"Grey hair…? It can't be…"
The Chronos's Kings eyes widened and trembled showing a hint of despair as he seemed to recall something wish he didn't.
"It can." Gray spoke.
"You… So you can move…"
He didn't seem surprised by the fact that Gray could. Nor did he seemed trouble by it. It was Gray's existence himself which had unsettled him.
Gray's eyes landed on the screen ahead of him,
[Quest: Defeat The Chronos King.]
[Reward: New Bloodline Ability.]
[Failure: Death.]
No matter how he thought about it, it just wouldn't click. The system wanted him to risk his life, fighting a being which controlled time?
[The king had achieved such a feat during his time. Now he is not even a shell of what he once was, he can't even bring forth ten percent of his power.]
'Would you say my hundred is stronger than his ten?' He asked the system as he got into a fighting stance.
[...I am not able to formulate-]
'You don't have to finish that.' He thought to himself, interrupting it.
"You came all this way to pick a fight with me?" The King Asked.
"Yeah, to challenge you to a fist fight... And to talk… But mainly the fist fight." Gray replied as he leapt towards him.
Outside of the mansion's Violet's figure suddenly emerged from the wall as she had leapt over it.
On her back was a large hiking back filled with the supplies which she had been told to get.
Simultaneously, Ruby's figure also emerged from the other corner of the wall beside her. All she was carrying was her battle axe.
Upon seeing one another, the two stared at each other for a few seconds before rushing towards the base.
They weren't on good terms, nor did they trust one another, but now wasn't the time. They had both more important things to worry about.
They entered into the base, locking off the entrance above them before heading towards Gray's room where he was resting.
Upon entering the first thing they saw was the golden aura radiating from Gray as a strange pattern began to form over the back of his hand.
Ria, Lara, Aurora, Kylo were were all too focused on it to notice as well.
"What's happening to him now!?" Violet asked as she stepped into the room.
"We don't know!" Aurora replied.
In that instant, the light suddenly vanished along with the mark.
Thinking that it was over, they took a step closer to see what was wrong with him.
It was then that it twitched. His index finger.
None of them had noticed it.
After all, their attention was stolen by Lita in the next second as she stood ahead of both Violet and Ruby.
She was back to acting like a completely different person as she said in in a cold and mechanical tone. "They're coming."
"They're…? What is she talking about?" Ria asked.
"Maybe the enemy?" Kylo theorized.
Lita pointed at Violet and Ruby who was just as confused as the rest of them.
She pointed at the strange gloves on the top of Violet's hiking bag and Ruby's shadow.
"You were followed." She said.
