Nine Evolutions of the True Spiritchapter 261: half-step core forging realm (1/2)

Chilian Ying naturally knew what secret technique Lu Ping was cultivating, but she hadn’t expected Lu Ping to actually reach the final stage of the secret technique in such a short period of time. What’s more, he was actually able to skillfully control the newly transcended divine revelation right away.

She shook her head and placed her attention on the interspatial bracelet in her hand. The interspatial bracelet belonged to Hong Shi-Kui, which Lu Ping had passed onto her.

The interspatial bracelet was a mid-grade spatial mystic instrument. Whilst it wasn’t as good as Lu Ping’s high-grade interspatial ring, it was still a common spatial mystic instrument used by elite cultivators and Enlightened Masters.

Since the interspatial bracelet was in Lu Ping’s hands before this, he had naturally taken away whatever he found valuable, specifically the dozen or so pieces of 1,000-year spirit herbs, three high-grade spirit stones, and two jade scrolls. Amongst the items, Lu Ping seemed to be most excited about the jade scrolls after checking their contents.

Then, the generous Lu Ping left the remaining stuff, as well as the interspatial bracelet, to a grateful Chilian Ying after she gained control of her injuries.

With the Northern League’s centenary celebration approaching, there was a huge influx of cultivators in Qian Yuan City. As the number of cultivators increased exponentially, the city also became increasingly turbulent. There were even some monster Enlightened Masters that appeared in the city, making the situation even more chaotic and tense.

As a result, the Northern League dispatched a security force to maintain public security. The security force was commanded by an Avatar Realm Great Ancestor, and consisted of 36 teams led by 72 Enlightened Masters.

The intervention of this force quickly restored order and peace to the city, and also clearly demonstrated the Northern League’s overwhelming power in the East Ocean.

In his cultivation room, he took out a variety of spirit herbs. After successfully cultivating divine revelation, Lu Ping naturally wanted to test out his alchemy.

Lu Ping concocted a few types of Late Blood Condensation Realm medicinal pellets with a success rate somewhere between eighty and ninety percent. As far as he was aware, even ordinary Master Alchemists couldn’t have done any better.

The divine revelation managed to significantly improve his alchemy. He was able to have a much greater degree of control over various steps in the concoction process. For instance, he was able to minutely control Azure Spirit Fire’s intensity, more accurately grasp the condition and medicinal properties of the spirit herbs in the cauldron, be more precise in his timings, and finally expend less arcane energy during the whole process.

Lu Ping then went on to concoct two cauldrons of Beauty Everlasting Pellets, which represented the easiest half-step Core Forging Realm medicinal pellets to concoct. Lu Ping managed a seventy-percent success rate which greatly boosted his confidence.

Next, he planned on concocting a cauldron of Heart Condensation Pellets for the snake trio. After consuming the Bottleneck Breaking Pellets concocted with Enlightened Master Jin Li’s blood essence, they were now in the Late Blood Condensation Realm.

According to the cultivation potential and progress of the Emerald Sea Spirit Snake, Lu Ping estimated that they would achieve the Eighth Layer Blood Condensation Realm within a year’s time. By then, they would be ready to consume the Heart Condensation Pellets and enter the Ninth Layer Blood Condensation Realm.

Lu Ping believed that at that time, when they joined forces, the snake trio would be able to resist the attacks of weaker Enlightened Masters like Hong Shi-Kui.

Lu Bi, Lu Hai, and Lu Ling had gradually become more important as their cultivation base advanced, it wouldn’t be long until they were eventually strong enough to fight side-by-side with him. In fact, even now they were very helpful.

For example, when the snake trio and Lu Qin helped him exterminate the external forces who were eyeing Lu Ping’s islands in Fallen Rift. The snake trio had just entered Late Blood Condensation Realm, but still showed dominating strength amongst cultivators of the same ranks.

The leaders were all Peak Blood Condensation Realm cultivators, yet they still stood no chance against their poison.

On the other hand, Lu Qin, who was now in the Ninth Layer Blood Condensation Realm, was even more powerful. She easily captured and killed two Peak Blood Condensation Realm leaders on her own.

Unlike the skittish but useful Dabao, and the guardian-like Dagui, Lu Qin and snake trio were geared for combat. Hence, they were Lu Ping’s most trusted and important fighting partners.

Although Heart Condensation Pellets were much more difficult to concoct, Lu Ping still managed to concoct five pellets in the cauldron of spirit herbs. This really made Lu Ping feel the significant improvement in his alchemy.

While Heart Condensation Pellets only used 18 pieces of 1,000-year spirit herbs, the spirit herbs were all rare and precious. Each of them could be used as a main ingredient for Core Forging Realm pellets. This inevitably increased the cost to concoct Heart Condensation Pellets.

While Lu Ping was overjoyed with his alchemy improvements, he couldn’t help but think of the barriers to further his alchemy progression – his alchemy cauldron, and his cultivation base.

Lu Ping’s alchemy journey started with Alchemist Sheng Tao’s heritage. His first and current alchemy cauldron was also from that heritage. But as Lu Ping’s alchemy progressed, the mid-grade cauldron had begun failing to fully satisfy his alchemy needs.

He had noticed this sometime ago and had thought of replacing it with a high-grade cauldron. However, alchemy cauldrons were extraordinarily valuable, with high-grade cauldron mystic instruments being as expensive as mystic treasures. Worst of all, cauldrons were extremely rare, it was almost impossible to find any being openly sold in the market.

In fact, Lu Ping actually had a better cauldron. The top-grade alchemy cauldron, called the River Inclusion Cauldron. However, he wasn’t able to fully utilize it with his current cultivation base.

This led to him to the decision to concoct a cauldron of Reverie Pellets.

Reverie Pellets were as difficult to concoct as Seven Step Striped Pellets; it required a total of 26 types of 1,000-year spirit herbs. Since the Reverie Pellet was extremely helpful for a cultivators’ breakthrough to the Core Forging Realm, it was as valuable as Core Forging Realm pellets.

With his newfound alchemy improvement from divine revelation, the refinement technique he created from [Spirit Fire Refinement and Purification Technique], and the addition of Amethyst Bee Royal Jelly, he managed to concoct four Reverie Pellets.

Reverie Pellets weren’t used during a breakthrough, but rather before. They were used to bring a cultivator into a realm of enlightenment, so that they could be familiar with the mechanics of the breakthrough and the Core Forging Realm.

With seven days left before the start of the Alchemy Conference, there was enough time for him to take the pellets. Hence, he called Hong Ying and Wu Yan over, instructed them not to disturb him, and gave them two interspatial pouches.

The two of them left the cave-dwelling excitedly, while Chilian Ying rolled her eyes playfully and followed them in leaving.

After they left, Lu Ping took a Reverie Pellet and fell into a state of enlightenment.

Dong—

The breakthrough was a success!

The nine Condensed Blood Beads came together into a ball that shone softly with a golden light. At the same time, a mysterious force flowed in Lu Ping’s body and perfected his bloodline. The bloodline perfection acted as the final catalyst, causing the nine Condensed Blood Beads to finally fuse together into a Golden Core!

Inside his heartspace, the Golden Core hung high up with the Primordial Stars orbiting around it at a slightly lower level, appearing like a sun and its twelve moons.

Lu Ping opened his eyes. His surroundings had miraculously changed from the cultivation room to a mirror lake. However, he didn’t seem surprised, as if he was expecting this change of scenery.

Then, he casually raised his hand. The Golden Scale Sword appeared out of nowhere and he started to practice the sword arts from the [North Ocean Twelve Ultimates].

Meanwhile, a translucent flying sword suddenly emerged out of thin air beside the Golden Scale Sword. Then, the translucent sword turned completely invisible as if it had disappeared into the void, with only the unnatural breeze around it indicating that the sword was still present.

Lu Ping hadn’t thought that the Golden Scale Sword and Water Specter Sword could be so powerful when used together. The Golden Scale Sword could be used for head-on battles in the open, attracting enemies’ attention, while the Water Specter Sword could move stealthily and deliver the killing blows.

A few moments later, Lu Ping cast the [True Origin One Essence Sword Art] with his true energy. Sword lights formed above him and merged together into a heavenly giant sword. The sword effused an overwhelming pressure that caused the mirror lake beneath him to ripple.
