My Wife is the Asura Empresschapter 186: was it really you, nyla?

As the class ended, Rio walked out of the class and traveled towards the Grand dew garden.

The sun was glistening in the sky and birds were chirping their songs, the cold breeze fluttered his hair in the air.

It was still not afternoon here as his classes ended at 10 am. Students were passing by in groups as they were making plans for the upcoming national tournament with their members.

Nyla didn't come back with him as she had no class like him on Monday. The boy entered his apartment and used the [Astral Recall] to return to the Empress Villa.

The boy appeared in his bedroom, he could hear the girls' voices coming from Nyla's bedroom, and were all awake as it was nighttime in the Land of Asura.

Rio went to his second wife's room where the conversation was going on as the three beauties were sitting on the couch and talking with one another about Helia's and Nyla's adventures in the corrupted land.

The white-haired beauty noticed that her man had come back, she asked, "it took you longer to come back today, was there something special?"

"National Military School tournament is starting in two weeks, I forgot to submit my name but someone else has already put my name with them." He nodded and said, his voice had a hint of suspicion.

"Do you have any clue who could it be that gave your name in the tournament without your permission?" Lia asked, raising her eyebrows.

"There is only one person I can think of," Rio said, moving his eyes to gaze at the magenta-haired beauty who was avoiding looking in his direction.

Lia also turned to look toward Nyla with a doubtful gaze as the lively girl could feel they were staring at her.

"You know, that person must be with a kind soul to put your name with themselves when you actually forgot to submit." The Magenta-haired beauty said, flashing a vibrant smile on her face.

"Was it really you, Nyla?" Lia asked, as she also doubted she could be the one who put his name in the tournament with them.

"Sorry, Big sis. Rio used to avoid me at that time, and I really loved him so much that I wanted to team up with him and would get more time to spend with him. This caused me to put his name with mine without his permission, thinking he wouldn't get mad at me. Later, when we got married, I forgot to tell him about this."

Nyla accepted her mistake as she had really given their name together as a team even before the girl became his wife. It was her personality that wanted to be with Rio even if he wanted to avoid her in the past.

"Did you not want to participate in the tournament?" Helia asked, her shyness and nervousness from the incident in the desert had reduced after their daily interaction in the passing days.

"I wanted to participate and I was just hoping it wasn't someone else but Nyla who put my name with them. So I'm very relieved now, it would have been troublesome to be in a team with someone else who I don't even know." Rio said, his voice filled with contentment.

He continued, turning towards Nyla, "Although it would be bad if you did this when we were not a couple but right now, All I can say is, Thank you for submitting my name with you. Second mother once said to me that if I get into the top 10 ranking in the upcoming national tournament she will tell me about my parent's identity."

As the girls listened to his statement, they realized the importance of this tournament for him. He would be able to find out about his parents if he get a good ranking.

Rio went towards the bedside table, grabbed a glass, and filled it to the brim with the water from the magical pot that kept the content fresh and cold.

"How does one get a high ranking in this tournament?" Lia asked, sitting beside Helia on the couch.

Rio turned around, looking at Nyla and indicating her to speak as she knew more about the tournament than him.

"It normally goes for 30 days and the Federation will give us an additional watch to wear that will keep a track of all our hunting at the island and also help us escape when we want to withdraw from the competition.

There will be beast-like robots of the purple and black stage on the island, we will have to hunt as many AI monsters as possible in a span of a month, collecting points that will be added to our watch automatically. We will be allowed to attack other students and rob their half points in this tournament but not kill them.

However, we are only allowed to bring 10 kilograms of important things to the island so surviving will be hard without food and water, we will have to fight for everything against other students and rival teams."

Nyla explained as she knew more about the tournament than Rio or any students in his class and had the experience of the previous year.

"What was your rank last year?" Rio asked, knowing she may have participated in a previous national military school tournament.

"I was 7th," Nyla answered.

"How? Weren't you only Purple stage?" The boy was surprised as he didn't expect her to have a higher rank with just purple stage power.

"You're underestimating purple-rank warriors, Rio. There aren't many in our school who are at the black stage. Last year, I only lost from getting top three ranks because Lex Magnus cheated and stole half of my points. He attacked me with three of his group members when I was separated from my team members." The girl explained, a hint of bitterness flickered in her voice.
