"Haah… haah… haah…"
Feeling incredibly out of breath, Valyr laid flat on the ground as he gasped for air.
At the same time, he took a brief glance at the one who threw the attack at him, only for him inwardly let out a sigh soon after.
'Not even a bead of sweat,' muttered the young man to himself, his mind going through the memories of what had just transpired earlier.
With Daon making the first move, Valyr was left with no choice but to defend against the terror that someone in the middle levels of Rank 6 could unleash.
Having conjured almost all of his defensive skills beforehand, the young man felt confident that his skills would be able to handle all of them with ease, considering that his stats were considerably higher than a normal warrior at the peak of Rank 3.
Yet, contrary to his beliefs, all of his defensive skills did not even stand a chance against Daon's attack, toppling down like a house made out of sticks.
And that was already including the fact that he had activated [Dark Arcane Mirror], which was a defensive skill that had helped him tip the scales towards his favor many times already.
But even that stood no match for Daon's [Heaven-rending Tsunami].
With that, he was only left with the option of fighting fire and fire, sending attack after attack towards the massive force Daon had conjured in the hopes that it would waste all of its momentum before it could hit him.
Unfortunately, even after exhausting all of his mana on a near-unceasing barrage of attacks, the tsunami still contained a third of its original force as it slammed directly into Valyr's body.
To no surprise, the young man was sent flying a fair distance, eventually landing on his back with a loud crash.
Though almost every part in his body radiated a great amount of pain in response to taking on the attack head-on, Valyr reminded himself that it was still better than dying to an attack like that.
With that, he closed his eyes for a bit to rest his mind before pulling out both a health and mana potion from his spatial bracelet.
Downing the contents of the mana potion first, he allowed the potion's effects to come to life first before consuming the health potion, making use of [Intermediate Heal] at the same time to expedite the healing process.
After some time, Valyr stood up once more as he stared at the pair of twins with a slightly bitter smile.
"You really didn't hold back," said the young man as he stared at Daon, continuing to keep [Intermediate Heal] active.
Hearing those words, Daon looked back at him with an apologetic smile. "I wish I could, but the Gates of Awakening would undoubtedly penalize us if we were to hold anything back."
Seeing that the young man looked curious as to what Daon meant, Dawan decided to explain it in his stead. "Depending on how much we limit ourselves against our opponents, we could either be restricted even further or be put in a more precarious position."
"Worst-case scenario, we lose these memory extensions, removing one of our few remaining ways to keep in touch with the happenings in Veldanyr."
"That bad?" At those words, Valyr sucked in a breath of cold air as the twins nodded in response to his question.
Slightly frowning after that, the young man took in a deep breath to compose himself as he checked his current condition.
'I guess I've more or less recovered from his attack,' thought the young man, feeling a hint of pity at the fact that his True Wyvern Armor had taken a brunt of the force.
At the moment, both the front and back of the armor had caved inward, reminding Valyr once more just how much force there was in Daon's attack.
Letting out a drawn-out sigh as he told himself to find the time to repair his armor set, the young man then moved forward, piquing the interest of the two as they wondered what he was going to do next.
Seeing Valyr pull out a couple of weapons from his spatial bracelet, Dawan and Daon looked at each other for a bit, quickly understanding what the young man was aiming to do.
With that, the pair of twins stood beside one another as they conjured simple mana barriers before them as they watched the young man look at the weapons he had brought out for a bit.
"Haah…" Letting out an exhale as he emptied his mind of discordant thoughts, Valyr soon proceeded to activate a series of empowerment skills, all of which bolstered his aura to a great degree.
"[Intent Seed of Shadow Energy]."
"[Intermediate Fire Magic Style: Blazing Vigor]."
"[Refined Offense Aura]."
"[Limit Break: Second Verse]."
"[First Encore]."
"[Rage of the True Wyvern]."
Whoosh!
Within mere instants, the aura emanating from Valyr far exceeded what a normal warrior at the peak of Rank 3 could even unleash.
Watching the entire scene unfold before their very eyes, Dawan and Daon briefly glanced at each other as they felt that the young man now currently wielded a level of strength that broke through a certain boundary.
With that, the two empowered their barriers with a bit more of their mana, even going so far as to infuse the energy of their Intents into them.
Surprisingly, not even strengthening their defenses was enough to prepare them for what was about to come, with Valyr picking up the Supreme Blade of Primeval Flames.
"Huu…" Taking some time to compose himself, the young man's expression turned solemn as he tightly gripped the blade by its handle with both hands.
Coaxing his mana to head towards the weapon he held, his entire body soon turned into a blur of Shadow Energy, disappearing from the twins' sight.
"[Arcane Shadow Warp]."
Whoosh!
Before the two could even understand what was going on, Valyr had appeared in front of their vision in less than an instant, leaving them vulnerable for the attack that was to come.
"[Primeval Starbirth]."
