As this question escaped the mouth of the elder at the central seat, all of the other elders started to engage in hushed conversations with one another as they gazed at Braum and Valyr every once in a while.
At that moment, all of the elders, except for the one at the center, inwardly thought of themselves as fools, slight frowns adorning their faces as they waited for the two to respond to the elder's question. After all, they had believed in the claims of another person so easily.
Never once did they doubt Braum's claims that the person that had accompanied him was Valyr Zeihardt.
Then again, with the fact that only less than a month remained before the opening of the Four Pillars' Inheritance, as well as the fact that the reconnaissance teams the Imperial Production Guild sent out had been searching for Valyr's traces for a month, these two things compounded into a pressure on the elders' minds that prompted them to accept Braum's claims in an instant.
However, with the words spoken by the elder at the central seat, the faint haze covering their minds had been cleared, allowing them to realize what they should have done in the first place.
In response to the question the elder at the central seat had asked, a confident smirk appeared on Valyr's face as he had an idea of what was going on. Seeing that Braum was looking at him with a calm expression after the elder's question, giving off the feeling that he had full confidence in him, the smirk on his face grew wider as he took in a deep breath before deactivating a part of [Enhanced Polymorph] he had yet to remove.
Whoosh!
Within seconds, the color of Valyr's irises started to change. What was previously a dark blue color, reminiscent of the vast depths of the ocean, was now replaced with a pearl-like silver, giving off the feeling that one was looking at an exquisite piece of jewelry.
Unsurprisingly, a few of the elders reacted to the change in Valyr's irises, the excitement they had suppressed after listening to the elder's question now being awakened somewhat due to what they considered as undeniable proof. After all, from what they knew, only the people that originated from the Zeihardt clan could have the specific iris color Valyr currently had.
However, once these elders noticed that the other elders still remained silent, with the elder at the central seat continuing to stare at Valyr and Braum, it did not take long for them to realize what was going on in the other elders' minds. Within seconds, the same question formed in their minds as they continued to watch.
'Since that man is able to change the color of his eyes on a whim, then who's to say he's not trying to pass himself off as the person we're trying to find?'
With that question in mind, the elders watched in silence as they waited for Valyr to reveal what would truly be undeniable proof that Valyr was indeed the man they were looking for.
His energy signature.
…
At first, Valyr thought that revealing his original eye color would be enough for them to realize that they were talking to the person they were trying to find. However, seeing that only some of the elders had a reaction to him reverting his eye color, a thought did not take long to form in his mind as he put himself in their shoes, letting out a faint sigh as he then deactivated the remaining parts of [Enhanced Polymorph] he had yet to remove.
Whoosh!
Within seconds, the shape of Valyr's body underwent a great change, gradually returning to a form that made all of the elders think that the body Valyr had reverted to now truly suited the face that he had. After that, a few more features all over his body started to change, gradually giving the elders a feeling that the person they were looking at seemed more and more like the Valyr they wanted to find.
Nevertheless, they continued to keep their excitement in check, considering that the man standing before them had yet to reveal his original energy signature, the energy that resonated with the person's soul.
Fortunately for them, Valyr did just that soon after.
Swoosh!
After reverting most of his features back to what they originally were, Valyr went ahead and reverted his energy signature back to what it originally was, an aura all of the elders were familiar with entering their senses within seconds. At that moment, none of the elders had suppressed their excitement anymore as they finally had undeniable proof that the man standing before them was Valyr Zeihardt.
Though the special feeling they got from the aura Valyr was emanating was still faint, that alone was enough for all of the doubts to dispel in their mind as the elder at the central seat finally reacted, opening his mouth as he said, "The Silver Eyes of Royalty, as well as the Bloodline of the Chosen."
"You are indeed Valyr Zeihardt." A smile soon formed on the elder's face as he began to introduce himself. "As you have already introduced yourself to the Ancestral Council, it would be rude for me to not introduce myself."
"Though I go by multiple titles, many people in the guild know me as Elder Faulerei, the head of the Imperial Production Guild's Ancestral Council," said the elder not long after. "I apologize that I had to test you, child. We've had people appear in front of the Ancestral Council before, trying to pass themselves off as the person we're looking for."
"I understand." In response, Valyr nodded in understanding. "I apologize for being difficult to find, if that's the case."
"That is not your fault, child." Faulerei shook his head. "It is the guild's fault that we weren't able to find you sooner."
"Nevertheless, I am glad to say that our search for you can finally come to a close." As these words came out of Faulerei's mouth, a soft chuckle accompanied it, prompting the elders to go silent as he continued talking to Valyr.
"Though I am certain that the man that accompanied you to this place has already greeted you, I would like to greet you once more."
"Welcome to the Imperial Production Guild…"
"Herald."
Ding!
