As everyone throughout the coliseum listened on to the conversation that was unfolding on the battleground, incredulous expressions could be seen on most of the audience with their mouths agape. At this moment, their attention was focused on the person that seemed to be at the center of it all.
In fact, Arcenne and Wells felt great surprise at how the current event unfolded as well. To them, they were certain that Valyr only knew of them as the two nobles that could possibly help him escape detainment. Yet, out of nowhere, five nobles, with the lowest rank among them being one level above Wells, appeared on the battleground to save Valyr from his predicament.
With that in mind, they reevaluated their understanding of Valyr, as well as wondered how far Valyr's connections stretched out. However, what they didn't know…
Was that Valyr hadn't expected their appearance either.
Nevertheless, from the words Braum had spoken to Lucas, it did not take long for him to figure out what was going on. With a faint smile appearing on his face, Valyr inwardly thanked Arcenne's father for informing him of one possibility, something that was now a certainty as there was proof of it in front of him.
'I guess the Imperial Production Guild really was on the lookout for me.' Inwardly chuckling at how timely the appearance of Braum and his group was, he then shifted his gaze to Lucas, whose frown appeared as if it could reach the ground at any moment due to how deep it was.
'I wonder what decision he's gonna make.'
Of course, Lucas already knew what decision he needed to make. After all, he wasn't fighting against the wishes of two nobles anymore. Even if only one person spoke on behalf of the group of five that came, making the total number of nobles he was fighting against three, Lucas knew that this number was actually seven, with the people behind the man giving off the feeling that they would support the man's decisions no matter what.
'To think he'd even be acquainted with nobles from the Algerie Kingdom. What kind of connections does this guy even have?' Nevertheless, with how Valyr knew a lot regarding some certain matters that fell under his control, Lucas knew that letting him go would just make things worse for him. 'I know he's part of the Zeihardt clan, but am I wrong to think that he's just part of one of their branch clans?'
'In any case, unlike that other guy, his background is nothing to talk about.'
'He already knows too much.'
Inwardly letting out a long sigh as he knew that going against a Royal Decree was a moronic decision, Lucas looked at Braum with a bitter smile before opening his mouth. "I choose to keep him here in the city and detain him in prison for the meantime. His actions put the city's safety in jeopardy, after all."
"Does that mean you're doubting the authenticity of this Royal Decree, then?" In response, a frown appeared on Braum's face as the aura he emanated slightly increased in intensity, focusing part of it towards Lucas to put pressure on the latter.
"Not at all." Lucas shook his head as he wiped off the cold sweat that dripped from his forehead. Naturally, he knew that he was in the wrong for going against the wishes of someone who held a Royal Decree, especially a Royal Decree from the kingdom that had jurisdiction over the entire region where the city was located.
But even with that, he remained adamant in keeping Valyr in the city for the meantime, lest others find out from the latter information regarding a certain incident. "I just think we would do a better job in making sure that Valyr doesn't do inflict any more harm to other innocent people."
"Is that so? You really think you can do a better job?" Listening to what Lucas had to say, Braum scoffed in response before releasing his aura to its utmost limits, with the four behind him releasing their auras in entirety as well. Within seconds, everyone in the audience felt like they were being pressed down to the ground by five people at once, causing some of them to faint from the overwhelming pressure being generated by their auras.
Even those at the battleground weren't spared from this, with Arcenne frowning as she did her utmost to combat against the pressure. Wells and Valyr were more or less in the same boat, relying on sheer willpower and the power they had in their bodies to fight against the pressure as much as possible.
As for Lucas and the guards, they took on the brunt of the pressure from the five, causing all of the guards surrounding Valyr to fall unconscious as their bodies and minds could not endure the pressure any further. Even Lucas, who was considerably strong in his own right, gritted his teeth as he tried his best to not be overwhelmed by the auras they exuded.
"Still standing, huh?" Still feeling greatly offended at the answer Lucas gave him earlier, Braum decided to take his aura up a notch, tapping into a specific power as his aura soon gave off the feeling that the world was helping him, even though that was feeling was incredibly minute. Nevertheless, those in the audience who were more knowledgeable let out gasps of shock, their eyes wide as they inwardly thanked the heavens for being a witness to a special being.
Even Arcenne and Wells sensed this feeling Braum gave off, their expressions turning solemn as they looked at each other for a bit before shifting their gazes towards Valyr. Though they wanted to ask him a question at this instant, due to the pressure the group of five were giving off, especially Braum, even remaining conscious was proving to be difficult.
Naturally, Valyr took note of the aura Braum gave off as well, his eyes slightly widening in surprise as he recalled experiencing an aura similar to what Braum gave off back then. After comparing the aura he was experiencing right now to the aura he felt back then, Valyr eventually became certain that Braum was one of those people.
