MMORPG: Rise of the Primordial Godsmithchapter 241: turn of events

Within Farraway Coliseum's special seating area.

As they watched the duel reach its ultimate conclusion, both Luke and Lucas stood frozen in place, their mouths agape as they were at a loss for words. After all, in their minds, Leron's victory was more or less in the bag, considering how his opponent looked like he was only one step short to looking like a monster made out of pure blood.

But instead, what they thought was an overwhelming advantage Leron held against Valyr was actually nothing but a lie, the tables being swiftly turned on Leron as Valyr brought that advantage to nothing with just one tyrannical move.

And then, dealing a few more tyrannical moves after that, Valyr gradually cut off Leron's multiple avenues of retaliation, saving the best for the last, his avenue of escape, the ability to surrender.

But of course, Valyr removed that as well.

"What the fuck?! That fucker won?!" With the realization of Leron's death finally sinking in, the anger Luke felt towards Valyr now surged with even greater intensity. After all, he had suppressed this rage of his twice, once before the duel had even begun, and the second during the time Valyr cut off one of Leron's fingers.

"This is unexpected." On the other hand, a deep frown appeared on Lucas' face as he furrowed his brows, fully confident in the fact that a Rank 2 class holder would beat a Rank 1 class holder, which was more or less the way the world worked. However, a man that went against that natural flow stood in the middle of the battleground, with the audience loudly cheering on for the man's victory.

"What next, Lucas? Are we just gonna let that guy leave the coliseum?" Though he was still furious, Luke knew that this rage wasn't best directed at his brother. Forcefully calming his down, he asked his brother as to what their next plan of action was. "He rebelled against the emporium's actions and even killed one of your men. Are we really going to let that guy get away scot-free?"

"Don't add your matters into this mess, you good-for-nothing brother." In response to Luke's questioning, Lucas looked back at him with a grim expression, putting his younger brother under the pressure of his overwhelming aura. Unsurprisingly, Luke had no way to fight against it, only being at Level 12.

"However, you've definitely got one thing right. He killed one of my men." As these words came out of Lucas' mouth, he reined in his aura, giving Luke the freedom to breathe in fresh air once more. Taking a brief look at his younger brother, who seemed to be grateful to just be able to breathe again, Lucas turned around and made his way out of the private room.

"Where are you going, brother?" Luke asked just as Lucas had opened the door. In response, Lucas looked back at him for a bit before leaving Luke on his own, but not before leaving his younger brother with a few words.

"Just going to take care of a few matters with my own hands."

As the cheers of the audience resounded throughout the coliseum to declare the life and death duel's ultimate winner, Valyr basked in the glory of this victory, only his body to turn limp as he fell to the ground on his back. Naturally, the audience went silent at this sight, slightly panicking at what had caused Valyr to fall to the ground all of a sudden.

However, once they heard a light chuckle escape the man's mouth, all of them inwardly let out a sigh of relief before continuing to cheer for Valyr's victory once more.

"Who knew tanking hits takes a lot more out of you than dishing them out?" Valyr muttered to himself, taking in a deep breath before deciding to take a look at the current state of his body. "I should reward myself with a long shower after this. But for now…"

"[Inferior Heal]."

Activating his one and only healing skill, all of the wounds he had accrued from Leron's bombardment of attacks thus far were swiftly patched up, quickly returning his health to full bar. Taking in a few more deep breaths, Valyr stood up once more, bitterly smiling as he made a mental note to repair his Half Wyvern Armor once he got home later.

"What a fight it has been, don't you think?" Though, just as Valyr was about to head through the gates to leave the coliseum and head back to the smithy, the announcer from earlier appeared before him out of nowhere, the latter's voice echoing throughout the coliseum once more.

"Even though his opponents landed hundreds to thousands of attacks on his body, Valyr was able to endure to the bitter end before swiftly turning the tables around, ending his opponent's life for good within just a few tyrannical moves!"

"With that, I am proud to announce to everyone witnessing this event today… that Valyr Zeihardt is the winner of today's life and death duel!"

Once more, the people that were able to witness Valyr achieve victory firsthand cheered on for him, with Arcenne and Wells being some of the few people that cheered the loudest for him.

However, just as everyone thought that all of them would return to their normal lives after this, a group of people in guard uniforms appeared at the battleground all of a sudden, asking the announcer to move back or else he would also be implicated into what was going to happen next.

Unsurprisingly, the announcer's expression became awry as he faintly understood what was going on, flashing an apologetic expression towards Valyr before turning tail and leaving the latter on his own.

On the other hand, Valyr remain standing where he was, watching as these people surrounded him before unsheathing their blades.

Ding!

Then, as a notification sound resounded in his mind, these men then extended their blades at him as one of the men's voices resounded throughout the coliseum soon after.

"Valyr Zeihardt…"

"You are under arrest!"
