MMORPG: Rise of the Primordial Godsmithchapter 117: repaying gratitude

Once he was finished, the surprise in his eyes subsided as he could not help but inwardly frown. 'So, I'm part of a noble clan. That's cool.'

'But since it's a noble clan in Veldanyr, why can't I remember any clan with that surname?' While reading through the notifications, he rummaged through all of his memories, focusing on the ones related to the planet's noble clans. After not finding any trace of the surname in those memories, he then checked his memories regarding the royal and imperial clans in the off chance the two only had surface level knowledge about it.

However, even after scouring through those memories, none of them mentioned the surname Zeihardt at all.

It was as if his current surname didn't exist in his memories in the first place.

Inwardly letting out a sigh at the feeling of gaining more questions than answers from what Tristan said, Valyr closed the screen in front of him. Though slightly annoyed that his identity seemed to have a deeper veil to it, he found solace at the fact that he at least now had a lead to follow if he ever wanted to find out more about his true identity.

While Valyr was pondering over his true identity, Tristan looked at Valyr for a bit before nodding in understanding sometime later. "Now that I know you're part of a noble clan, then everything you've done so far actually makes a lot of sense. The fact that you finished my quests easily, you exuding greater strength while still being Rank 0… yeah. It totally makes sense."

Hearing Tristan's words, Valyr lightly nodded, even though he knew very well that the true reason behind his feats was his treasure trove of past knowledge. Nevertheless, he still went with the flow, agreeing to the former's thoughts. After all, it was a good cover-up.

"So, what's the reason behind you showing us your class?" Seeing that the conversation seemed to have gone off track, Damian decided to return the attention of the two back to the original topic. "Surely it's not only because you wanted to brag to us two about your class, right?"

"Of course not." Valyr shook his head in response, closing the greatly simplified status screen he had been showing them all this time. "I showed you my class in order for you to know that my next statement isn't unfounded."

"And that is?" Damian raised his eyebrow while Tristan listened in silence, curiosity written all over his face.

"What if I told you… there's a way to significantly reduce the damage the village takes during monster tides?" In response to the question, Valyr's expression went solemn while the two looked at him with a hint of incredulity. "What if there was a way to let the village have an easier time during monster tides?"

"Hold on for just a second." With Valyr's words in mind, Tristan decided to interrupt. "So you're telling me that you have a method to help the village out during a monster tide all this time, and you're only telling us this now?"

"Well, would you have believed me if I didn't show you my class beforehand?" Valyr questioned back. "What if you didn't find out my surname? What if I told you of the method before I had even ascended?"

"Would you have believed me?"

"That…" In response to Valyr's string of questions, Tristan went silent, pondering over the former's words before letting out a light sigh. "You know what? You're right. I wouldn't have believed you."

Nodding in response to Tristan's words, Valyr then shifted his attention towards Damian, who was silent all this time. After another minute or so, the latter opened his mouth, asking the important questions he had in mind regarding the method Valyr would offer to them.

"Can it be used by the village?" he asked. "Plus, will it need a substantial amount of funds?"

Listening to Damian's questions, a confident smile appeared on Valyr's face. "To answer your first question, yes. It can be used by the village. And for your second question, it doesn't need a lot of funds. In fact, I'm already using the method I'm about to give to you two as we speak."

"Hmm?" Naturally, both Tristan and Damian could not help but look at each other once they heard Valyr's last statement. Fortunately, it did not take long for them to understand what he was trying to say.

"Are you perhaps talking about… the method on how you had stats on par with a Rank 1 class holder while still being Rank 0?" After looking at each other for a bit, Tristan decided to be the one to ask. Thankfully for him, his idea was correct as Valyr nodded in response to his question.

However, as he thought about the impact of such a method to the village, Tristan could not help but have a solemn expression on his face, with Damian having the same expression as well. After all, with that kind of method, even those at Level 1 in the village would be able to help out in the village's defense against the monster tide.

Much less to say to those at the higher levels.

"Why tell us about it?" At some point, this question could not help but pop into their minds, with Damian being the one to voice it out. However, rather than obtaining an answer from Valyr regarding the complex politics of nobility and such, what the two got instead was far from it.

"I mean… why not?" Valyr shrugged his shoulders. "You two have helped me a lot more than you think while I was in and outside the village. Consider this just another way for me repay my gratitude."

"Anyways, enough dawdling around. Let me tell you of the method I used to be able to do all of those things during the monster tide." As these words came out of Valyr's mouth, the two instantly became silent as all of their attention were focused on Valyr's next few words.

On the other hand, a thought surfaced in Valyr's mind as he said this, inwardly chuckling as he recalled the conversation he had back then with Mystia, Vera's mentor. 'I'm still not planning to cause a revolution before the players appear anytime soon…'

'But it would be nice to see the village that took care of me since the beginning of my journey become stronger.'

With that in mind, he commanded the system to bring up the description of one of his passive skills. Then, he turned the screen around, allowing the two to read through it as he asked them a question.

"Have you two heard of Reinforcement Elixirs?"
