The final treasure room was different from all others.

There was no sparkling treasure inside the final room, there were no artefacts, no gemstones, no blueprints, there was absolutely nothing inside it actually, nothing except an expressionless Seraphiel standing across him.

" I won all three rounds, correct? " Max asked just to be sure

" Yes " Seraphiel replied as Max looked around to figure out if he was in the right room then.

" So what's the reward? " Max asked, scratching his chin as he expected the final reward to be something special.

The reward for clearing the previous round was a mystical pagoda that would help Max reach the monarch realm faster which was unbelievable on its own, however, Max expected this one to be even better.

" The reward is a forbidden technique, a move that will allow you to convert a lifetime's worth of accomplishments of a being into your own strength.

A soul move unlike any other that can only be bestowed to god's by soulmancers like us.

It's a technique that even the queen can't replicate, nor something you can find in the universal archives " Seraphiel said as he created significant intrigue for Max.

A soul move was a mysterious technique that even monarchs did not understand.

People were aware of the existence of one's soul, however, very little was known about its true nature and power.

Except for the basics of the soul vessel and some theories on how to take over the body of another, not much was known about soul's.

" The technique I'm about to teach you, can only ever be used on souls that are much older and stronger than your own.

As a tier6 god, you can't use this move on other tier6 god's or mortals.

If you come across a tier7 god, who is younger or of similar age as you, then executing this move might prove to be counterproductive so it's better to avoid it" Seraphiel suggested as Max nodded his head in all seriousness.

These warnings were important, Max could tell by Seraphiel's tone itself that the soulmancer was extremely serious.

" The move I'm about to bestow you with is called [ Soul Devour ] and it's an attack that will allow you to devour the strength of another's soul completely.

You have already experienced an inferior version of this move via special mechanisms where you have gained significant EXP from it.

However, if you use this correctly, not only would you gain EXP, you can absorb a soul for all it's worth including its knowledge, it's lifetime worth of valuable experiences and all their techniques.

The move is forbidden because it allows the caster to gain massive amounts of strength in a short period of time should their hunt for soul be successful, however, it comes with the risk of your own soul being devoured completely by your opponent should things go wrong.

Once the move is underway, only one of your two souls can survive while the other will be eaten up in full.

To have maximum chances of success, I'd suggest that you first physically injure your opponent and cripple him before you start the move as the physical state in which you start the move will be their physical state inside the soul space " Seraphiel explained as Max felt his skin tingle at the possibilities unlocked by this move.

Hypothetically, if he could devour giants like Regus Aurelius or Angakok to increase his own strength he could make massive leaps in his personal strength and life experiences in what could be a matter of hours.

It was technically the same move that Angakok used to take-over his body, however, a more nuanced version of it where the goal was not to take over someone's body but to rather devour their soul, while also not needing to do complicated structural set-ups.

" You have an A.I, one that's not implanted in you, I would suggest you use it as a block for storing all the life experiences and knowledge of the being you devour as while you might not understand it yet, but it is this knowledge, and these experiences that shape one's personality.

If you don't want to change the essence of your being by devouring someone else, yoi should never consume their knowledge directly " Seraphiel warned as Max nodded

This was the first time the list of warnings for a move exceeded the description of the move itself.

What Seraphiel said did make perfect sense that it was one's life experiences that made them what they were and to tamper with such things directly could alter one's personality.

" I'm trusting you to not self-destruct with this power " Seraphiel said as he extended his staff and tapped it lightly on Max's head.

[ Soul Devour ] ( Forbidden ) - Activate this move to have a battle in the soul dimension against an opponent of choosing.

Should you be victorious, you can wring a soul dry for all it's worth.

WARNING - EXTREMELY DANGEROUS

A string of knowledge entered Max's brain as he was able to access the description of the move.

While the official description did not explain the warnings as explained by Seraphiel, Max trusted that the soulmancer would not recite them for naught.

With this move under his belt, Max now finally had an entire new dimension of gaining strength open up for him as he could finally see a clear pathway to monarch-hood open up.

" Trust your instincts more, Max Rajput, your Bloodline has more strength than you use it for.

If fate permits it, we shall meet again, till then….. farewell " Seraphiel said as he snapped his fingers and Max immediately found himself outside the dungeon.
