( Max and Jathi )
Max was in his office working when Jathi came in to share an important piece of information.
Julian had decided to challenge Regus for the throne and the fight was going to happen tomorrow in the arena of the god's.
All vampire gods were invited to witness the fight, however, not a single one of them were optimistic about Julian's odds of winning.
Who would be?
Max too felt like Julian was making a dumb decision by throwing his life on the line for a fight he could never hope to win. However, he also understood that for some men their honour meant more to them than their lives.
The Caesar clan was thrown into disarray by the decision of their patriarch as with him potentially dying, the strength of the Caesar clan and the vampire society as a whole was sure to decline significantly.
It wasn't just so for the Caesar clan, the same also held true for the Aurelius clan as well who stood to lose their greatest supporters through this contest.
It was the most shocking piece of news but Max was extremely calm while reading it.
" Will you go witness the fight my lord? " Jathi asked, as Max shook his head impassionately and replied " No "
The outcome of the fight was pre-determined, there was no point in him wasting his precious time going to witness something set in stone.
He would much rather focus on the upcoming dungeon event and his wedding as lately those were the two big events on his mind.
He had been so engrossed in work recently that he did not find an opportunity to continue reading the book of the primal god of war, however, completing the book was also one of Max's priorities as it contained within it an ocean of information.
" Tell me again, Jathi, why don't tier6 and above god's enter the dungeon event? " Max asked as although he had read the report over the matter, an explanation from the source of the report was still the best way to understand.
" My lord, the reason behind why the dungeon event is considered an event for the younger generation is because the dungeon suppresses all those who enter it above tier5.
So as a tier6 god, if you choose to enter it, you will be only as strong as a common tier5 warrior and will be unable to use any of your divine skills, putting you at a risk of losing your life should a vengeful tier5 warrior aim for your neck.
This suppression holds true for even the monarch. If Regus Aurelius himself enters the dungeon he would only be as strong as tier5 and it's an unnecessary risk for a being like him.
It's for this reason that I suggest that you leave the dungeon run to DarkSorrow and other capable soldiers and don't participate yourself, for you stand to lose much more than you stand to gain " Jathi explained as Max began mulling over his words seriously.
The information head was a man with a sound head over his shoulders and Max could never make light of his warnings, however, there was too much at stake in this dungeon run for Max to not take part in it.
Apart from the obvious benefits to the clan ranking that was going to decide the new territory distribution, this edition of the dungeon run was also going to decide which of the two princes were going to get the title of the crown prince.
The younger prince Lucius had asked officially for Max to lend him a hand and it seemed like a good opportunity for him to get a foot-hold inside the Aurelius clan.
Despite Regus's hatred towards him, it seemed like his son did not share the same vigilance and was convinced that he was an indispensable ally.
This was an image that Max could exploit to his own advantage, but for such a scenario to happen he needed to participate in the dungeon run personally.
" We are supposed to send a team of 5, my lord, and have two on stand-by, we still have two days to decide the final nomination while the fight for the throne is scheduled to be tomorrow…..
Please ponder on my advice in the meanwhile " Jathi said as he left Max alone to his thoughts after laying down all the facts and his opinion on them like a good retainer.
The final decision was of course upto Max.

( Meanwhile Julian )
" Keep your chin up, boy, you are 18 now! A man! Stop sulking like a little girl " Julian said as he admonished his son for crying non-stop after hearing the news of his decision.
" The vampire society is bigger than you or me boy, if you ever feel like it's being ruled by a tyrant, it's your duty as a Caesar to stand up to tyranny.
Regus Aurelius had become a tyrant and your dad needs to set an example.
Be proud of me, for between me and Vega, it's me who has the bigger set of balls " Julian said as he wiped the tears off his boy himself.
Of Course Julian felt emotional as well, Tonight was the last night that he was with his beloved wives and children. Probably the last time he saw them and they saw him, yet, as a man he could show no weakness.
Even when everyone else was crying, he needed to laugh at the face of danger and death and leave them with a smiling face.
Although he wouldn't be able to live long enough to see his son become the patriarch of the Caesar clan, Julian knew that his son was going to grow up and become an extraordinary fighter even stronger than he was.
The only thing he wanted to teach him now was to use that strength for the better of the vampire society and not be afraid to die for it.
There was a grand feast for Julian to enjoy today, for tomorrow he was most likely going to dine in hell.
