( Regus Aurelius's POV )
It was a bittersweet day for the vampire monarch as he read through the day's report.
The vampires had lost one orb to the demons today, courtesy of the 30th ranked clan defending the orb which suffered heavy losses in the process.
On the other hand the Bloodfall clan had managed to rout one enemy base and destroy their orb which restored some face for the vampires.
Regus was no fan of Ravan Bloodfall but overtime he had learnt to appreciate that man's cunning.
There was no denying that when on the same side he was a valuable ally.
He personally wrote a letter of appreciation for the Bloodfall clan as he meant every word that he wrote in the letter.
They had performed a meritorious deed and in these times of war it was imperative that meritorious deeds be acknowledged and rewarded so that the troop morale remained high.
Overall it was an okay day for the light faction as well as they destroyed four more orbs than they lost, but since the starting point of the two sides was so different because of the betrayals at the start, the light faction was lagging overall in terms of orbs broken.
As the news of Bloodfall victory spread to all vampire clans their prestige rose in the hearts of the vampire society.
The higher clans especially saw it very positively and believed that if the Bloodfall clan could do it, so could they.
**********
( Meanwhile Rudra )
Rudra had watched the full fight of how Max and his two friends took down the entire enemy army alone and he could not help but feel giddy in his stomach as he saw Max fight.
The fighting style of his brother could not be more different from his own style but it was still refreshing to watch.
Rudra would have never expected that he would learn new attack combos from watching Max fight, but unexpectedly he did learn a lot of things as he saw his brother weave through attacks and fight his enemies.
The most impressive trick that he could pull off was his ability to predict moves before they happened from the fluctuations of the wind.
This meant that he had no blind spot in his defence at all and it gave him an extra split second to react to that attack.
Rudra was not sure as to who created this technique, but whoever did and taught it to Max had to be a master teacher.
But while it may have taken a lot of effort to master that trick, Rudra only needed to experiment with it for a few hours before he grasped the fundamental understanding of the method.
It was a windfall success for him as he had learnt such a good move while doing absolutely nothing but sitting in a chair by the riverside sipping tea, which got him thinking that if he continued to observe the masters on this battlefield he could learn a lot about their combat styles and steal their best moves.
In such a late stage of his fighting career where his moveset and style of combat was an involuntary reflex this was an opportunity for him to reinvent himself and become a changed and improved warrior.

( Meanwhile Asiva and the people of Dombivli City )
Asiva giggled as she stroked her finger over Max's photo in the local newspaper.
From the day that the war had started, one of the measures that Asiva had implemented was to start a war covering newspaper for the people of Dombivli.
If there was no official channel for news the commoners would begin to speculate as to what was going on in the dimensional battlefield and needless rumours would spread.
By only allowing state controlled news to be published, she could ensure that the narrative going to the public was more controlled and unnecessary panic could be avoided.
Today was a special edition of the newspaper as a full length article had been published detailing the war exploits of the Bloodfall clan and how they managed to bring down the first enemy orb from the vampire side.
A big photo of Lord Ravan was published as he seemed to be pointing in the direction of DarkSorrow.
It was not a photo of him in action, but it was the only photo that Asiva had obtained that looked cool enough to be published.
Underneath the photo the article explained how DarkSorrow repelled the enemy attack and Lord Ravan alongside commander Anna and Sebastian lead a three man counterattack to route the enemy.
On the second page a full length letter of appreciation from Regus Aurelius himself was published that provided further authenticity to the story as whoever read ur within dombivli could not help but feel their chests swell up in pride.
When the times were the hardest, it was their clan who was stepping up to the task of bringing down the enemy.
' It's the good fortune of seven generations of our forefathers that we have a Lord like Lord Ravan Bloodfall leading the clan. He's just a complete warrior who not only ended the age old rivalry with the barbarians but is now showing his worth on the battlefield.
Because of him I can hold my head high when I visit other vampire planets as I can say with joy that yes I'm a citizen of the Bloodfall clan! '
' Lord Ravan is the strongest, I can sleep well at night knowing he's out there to protect our lands. He won't let our brave men fall, under his command we will achieve much more glory than just destroying one orb '.
' I always knew Commander Sebastian was the real deal, but I'm pleasantly surprised that commander Anna can also go shoulder to shoulder with monsters like those two in battle.
She must be exceptionally skilled to be able to do so '
' Actually Lord Max, Commander Sebastian, Commander Anna and prime minister Asiva were all a group back in University of nourishment for young talents.
They were the strongest 4 out there but shockingly the winner of the tournament back then was prime minister Asiva!
We might think she's just an administrator, but the woman our Lord loves is actually a terrifying warrior '
' No kidding, is that true? I cannot imagine anyone beating Lord Ravan in battle, he destroys entire armies alone '
' I'm definitely putting my children in University for nourishment of young talents if that's the case, If they can become half as good as those 4 they'll still become a captain in the army '
' Today is a joyous day for us all, Today I'll sell all goods at 50% off in honour of the lord's victory '.
' Glory to Bloodfall! '
The atmosphere on the streets became very positive when everyone read the daily edition of the newspaper.
When the legions were heading into war the atmosphere in the city was very emotional but while everyone put up a brave front, internally they felt nervous.
Now that the war had started for a few days and there was good news from the battlefield, the common folk felt a little more at ease knowing that they did have the strength to fight back in this war.
It was a much needed morale boost not only to mentain law and order but also for the new recruits still in training that had to get mentally accustomed to the idea of being deployed on a battlefield.
In the end it was much easier for them to chase glory than feel like they were pushing themselves to certain death.
The victory although small in the grand scheme of things had far reaching consequences for the Bloodfall clan.
