As the explorer group travelled the streets of the ancient magi, the first thing they noticed was how weird the house shapes were.
Modern architecture focused on symmetry when building anything, the houses on earth mostly had straight walls and square or rectangle rooms, however, the architecture of the ancient magi was completely different.
All houses came in weird shapes and forms which looked like they were built by 4 year old clay modelling kids since they bent at weird angles and came with weird proportions, however despite their unusual shapes they seemed extremely sturdy and strong.
Some houses looked exactly like the witch fantasies from earth with conical tops, round rooms and windows, but some houses were like those of gnomes and dwarves.
" The street below our feet is hollow, all these houses have a basement, seems to be interconnected " Severus said as he deciphered this information from the sound of their footsteps which sounded weird.
The streets which had not been used for thousands of years were covered in moss which suggested that the underground city had some form of moisture retention in the air, despite Geonmi planet being a mostly arid place.
" ONE " Max shouted to make sure everyone was present
' Two '
' Three'
' Four '
The shouts followed as he understood that at least till now, nobody had been lost.
Suddenly, as the group's loud shouts ended a low growling sound could be heard by Severus, which instantly alerted him.
*Grrrrrr*
" There is something alive in that house ahead, we need to be careful " Severus warned, as Max instantly used [ Scan ] but to his absolute dismay he could not find anything living in his surroundings.
It was only due to Severus's Saint Maximus powers of hearing that he was able to hear such a low growling frequency as nobody else was able to pick up the sound.
" WATCHOUT! " Lucius suddenly shouted as Max instinctively ducked.
*Shua*
A gust of wind much more powerful than before blew right over Max's head, originally aiming for the flame in his hands as although Max dodged it narrowly it went on to collide with 3 of his soldiers behind him, who dropped dead on the spot.
*THUD* *THUD* *THUD*
Three bodies hit the floor with their mouths agape and their bodies shrivelled as alarm bells began ringing in Max's head at a serious pace.
He did not see anything in this attack, as the only sensation he felt was a gust of wind, but apparently it was strong enough to kill 3 tier3 soldiers with one sweep.
" FUCKK….. OH LORD OF COWARDS SAVE ME " Sebastian said as he shivered at his knees, regretting his decision to follow Max into this spooky place immensely.
Max extinguished the flame in his hands and activated his skill [ Way Of The Wind ] as it was the only way he felt he could detect the incoming danger.
Closing his eyes, Max relied purely on the disturbance of wind to determine things in his surroundings as he could clearly feel a thick mass of wind shaped like a half angel with wings and half horse facing towards the group in the sky above.
' Elemental Creature ' Drax said with a shocked voice within Max's head, as Max instantly recalled the corresponding knowledge about such creatures that he had read at the university of nourishment for young talents library.
An Elemental Creature was born in places where the laws of the universe were disrupted unnaturally.
They had no physical form and were immune to physical damage and could potentially be converted into pets if one had enough strength.
But battling them was incredibly difficult and they were one of the rarest creatures in the universe since they had no ability to procreate, nor were the conditions of their birth easy.
In the library book it was stated that the total number of elemental creatures known to exist in the universe did not exceed 10,000 with the strongest of them being the summoned of Emperor Cervantez, a fire spirit with strength equal to that of a god.
" It's an elemental spirit, very strong, at least tier5 in strength, it's impossible to see it with the naked eye, it's completely blended to the surroundings and seems to be a wind elemental spirit " Max said as he informed the group about the unknown enemy
Clicking his tongue, Lucius said " How many of us can detect it? "
Lucius was naturally a very talented warrior, having been tutored by the best teachers available in the vampire clan, however, even he could not detect this spirit which made him feel like there were not many within the group who were capable of detecting it.
Eventually only Max and Sebastian raised their hands, and having a clear understanding of their abilities to deal damage to bodies with no physical form, Max said " It's best if we back down, it seems to be guarding something in the area, this is not a fight we can easily win, let's try to go to the centre using a different path "
Lucius thought about it for a while and then nodded, they did not need to take unnecessary risks so early into the exploration so he agreed to Max's suggestion.
" Let's back off " He said as the group slowly took steps away from the elemental with Max guarding against its advance cautiously.
Thankfully the half horse half angel elemental did not seem interested in chasing the explorer group away, as the 97 people alive were able to retreat safely.
Going back to the part where they landed, the group spent twenty minutes trying to circle the periphery, before restarting their journey towards the centre, this time with added caution, the ancient magi city was more dangerous than one thought it would be, especially if there were semi-alive creatures wandering it's streets till this day.
