It took Max and his forces about 1 hour to completely wipe out the Kingsman clan from district 13, as they moved onto district 11 and the mage tower.
In this first bout of exchange, Max had lost about 7500 men, whereas the Kingsman had lost about 20,000.
The first round definitely went to the rebel forces who took the enemy by surprise, but things became extremely complicated once they entered district 11.
The enemy had studied the attack patterns of the invaders and had figured out that their immediate target was the mage tower, hence they were well prepared for the face-off by the time the rebels reached district 11.
The tier4 warriors on the side of the Kingsman clan, who were missing from action in the first few hours of the bout, finally started to make an appearance as they reinforced the weaker fighters and tried to protect each roadblock.
It was now that the nitty-gritty, pound for pound real battle broke out, as the fighting started to turn truly ugly.
Max was targeted heavily, as his presence on the battlefield brought a lot of tier4 fighters to deal with him at once.
While on the other fronts, the rebels outnumbered the defending forces in terms of tier4 warriors.
On Max's end he was fighting a one vs four battle with some of the finest enemy soldiers.
[ Fireblast ]
[ Summon Netherbeasts ]
Max spammed an attack, before rolling on the ground to dodge an incoming sword strike as he summoned his Netherbeasts to level the playing field.
Max was facing a difficult battle as he faced 3 swordsmen and one mage all together.
Although he was faster than the swordsmen, making them individually harmless, their collective efforts forced Max to expend significant amounts of energy on dodging.
The mage tried to continuously disrupt Max's rhythm with spells, as he made sure that Max received no chance to counter attack.
Once the Netherbeasts arrived on the battlefield, Max redirected them all towards the mage, as he knew that should the mage be eliminated, he would get the opening he needed to deal with the other 3.
[ Fireblast ]
[ Fireblast ]
[ Fireblast ]
[ Fireblast ]
[ Dragons Breath ]
-45,000
Max spammed Fireblasts to force a single swordsman to break formation, as he pushed him against a brick wall, before surprising him with a Dragons Breath attack.
The enemy had never expected Max to suddenly breathe fire from his mouth, and was taken by surprise as the attack gave him severe burn damage, before burning a hole through the household brick wall behind him and sending him crashing into the civilians home.
Max winced as he heard the shrieks of the civilian lady who was scared out of her wits to see the scene, but unfortunately there was nothing he could do about it for now.
" *Whistle* , Bite off his leg, boy " Max said as he commanded his beast to bite the mage's leg off, as one of the swordsmen had to divert his focus from facing Max to saving his teammate.
This left only one swordsmen to face Max, as he leisurely weaved through his barrage of attacks, before placing a finger on his nose as he looked into his eyes pointblank and said " Boom "
[ Blood Manipulation ]
[ Blood Explosion ]
Max controlled the target's internal blood pressure as he urged the capillaries to blast.
As the tier of the target and himself was equal, he could not immediately kill him, however, with his expertise in the area he made sure to damage critical veins as the opponent suffered from dangerous internal bleeding.
The soldier shrieked in pain, as blood dripped from his eyes and his nose, he began rapidly losing vision as he felt like his whole body was being internally filled up by some liquid.
" I'm going blind! I'm going blind! " The soldier screamed in terror, however, there was nothing that could be done to save him.
Max had already destroyed the small capillaries In his eyes, and he was already a gone case.
At this instance Max felt a little melancholic, the human inside him told him that this form of cruelty was wrong, that he could have killed the opponent in a hundred ways that were more merciful and did not have to stoop so low.
However, although his conscience was guilty, his instincts as a primordial vampire only smelled the scent of the enemy's blood revitalising his very being, as his instincts did not tell him that he did anything wrong.
While he was in this dilemma, he momentarily forgot that the soldier he had blasted into the household was only injured and not dead, as using the opportunity, he attacked Max from behind in a sneak attack.
Max's [ Way Of The Wind ] instinct alerted him, however, even if he turned this second, he would only receive a blow to the front of his body rather than his back, while there was no way for him to evade the attack either, since the enemy already had considerable velocity and could trace his movements.
' FUCK… ' Max thought as he prepared himself to take some damage, but just as he imagined that the sword would pierce his body, he heard a loud * THUD * sound as he turned to see that the enemy was shockingly pulled into the solid road up to his waist, unable to move a single centimetre.
" Thanx Zippo " Max commented as he stomped the struggling soldier's head into the ground before repeatedly bashing it with brute force with his bone staff.
It was a crude way of killing an opponent, but since it did not expend any mana it was quite economical in a war.
To create this opening, Zippo had stepped in at the critical moment and prevented the enemy from injuring Max.
While this was a slip on Max's part, it was reassuring for him to know that he had a powerful ally protecting his back at such critical times.
Grinning from ear to ear, he silently thanked Aunt Rhea for the additional security as it did make his life easy in a war.
