The plane carrying Arkenthym and Ichiro landed at the airport of Darkland.
Darkland is the Capital City of Nightlight.
Ichiro left the plane and looked towards the sky. The flight lasted for 10 hours, and it was around 4 P.M, and the sky should still be bright blue, but instead, it was pitch black.
Nightlight is permanently dark. The citizens have slightly mutated to withstand the sleepiness.
'How does this even make sense...' Ichiro felt like this world was getting weirder and weirder.
Arkenthym exited the plane and started walking towards the terminal, followed by Ichiro.
He was holding his bag with two swords inside. He doesn't know if he is watched during his stay here, and there is no way he can explain how he can take things out of thin air.
They left the terminal and airport. There was a car waiting for them outside the airport.
It was a bigger car than usual, resembling a van.
Arkenthym entered the large car and sat on the backseat. His head was still touching the ceiling, his large body could barely fit inside the vehicle.
Ichiro sat in the front seat while the man who was driving the car started driving towards their temporary residence.
While the car was approaching their temporary residence, Ichiro was looking outside the window.
The light coming from buildings and street lamps illuminated the beautiful city of Darkland. Most of the buildings were made as bright as possible— otherwise, it isn't easy to see them.
Nightlight is also called County Who Never Sleeps. It is quite ironic because people would assume that they do nothing except sleep, but the sleeping rhythm is so messed up in this country that almost everyone has different sleeping rhythms.
That's why school classes depend on what kind of sleeping rhythm the student has.
The citizens have obvious differences as well. Their eyes are dilated, making their pupils much larger.
They can also see in darkness like it was bright as day.
The car stopped in front of a small two-floor building.
Ichiro exited the car and looked at the dilapidated building with a raised eyebrow.
Arkenthym entered the building like he didn't mind its shabby appearance. Ichiro followed behind him and saw Arkenthym entering a room where the elevator was located.
Ichiro entered the elevator with Arkenthym— at first, he thought about why a two-floor building needs an elevator, but soon he got a reply to his answer.
He noticed that the elevator didn't go up, it went down!
''Wha—'' Ichiro was confused for the entire elevator trip, but a minute later, the elevator doors were opened, and sight which Ichiro will never forget appeared.
There was an underground city underneath Darkland!
''This is the true Darkland,'' Arkenthym said and left the elevator.
Ichiro dumbly looked at the sight in front of him. There was a ceiling made of rock on top of the underground city with thousands of blue crystals illuminating the city.
He couldn't see the end of the underground city— it was insanely large! There weren't skyscrapers or anything like that. The tallest building was a large stadium in the middle of the underground city.
There were three-floor buildings scattered all around the underground city, with proper roads and streets.
The citizens looked vastly different. They all wore beautiful dresses and suits.
Ichiro looked at his own suit, and now he understood why he had to wear a suit. Arkenthym entered another car while Ichiro followed behind him.
The car left the area around the elevator and started driving in the busy streets.
Ichiro printed every sight to his mind. He has never seen something so majestic and probably never will again.
The car stopped in front of the enormous stadium. The stadium was around 100 meters in height, with over a hundred thousand seats for spectators.
''Every fighter will reside inside the stadium, now, get out of the car.'' Arkenthym said bluntly, ''And, don't fucking lose.''
Ichiro snorted and exited the car. He watched as the car which carried Arkenthym was driving away.
''Kurogami Ichiro, I assume?'' A beautiful woman with a revealing red dress asked with a professional smile. Her cleavage was visible, and the dress left her long smooth legs visible.
Ichiro nodded.
''Follow me, please.'' She said and started walking towards the stadium while swinging her wide hips around.
Ichiro took another look at the beautiful city and followed behind the woman.
The corridors had people talking with each other, not caring about the sudden appearance of Ichiro. The woman took Ichiro all the way to the end of the corridor, where hundreds of rooms with numbers were located.
The woman stopped in front of a door with number 51.
''This is your room— need anything else?'' She asked with a sweet smile while puffing her chest slightly forwards, which made her breasts almost bulge out of her dress.
''No need, thanks,'' Ichiro said and opened the door.
''Wait!'' The woman quickly said and held the door.
''Hmm?'' Ichiro raised an eyebrow.
The woman put her soft hand on her chest and said with blushing cheeks, ''I can do anything you request, and I mean... Anything.''
''... Anything?'' Ichiro asked one more time.
The woman smiled and nodded with blushing cheeks.
''Hmm.'' Ichiro pondered for a moment before replying, ''I have one request.''
The woman waited for his words with expectation.
''Can you get a phone which actually works. My phone doesn't have a signal.'' Ichiro showed his phone, which showed no signal symbol, ''I need to inform my girlfriend that I arrived safely.'' He had a handsome smile on his face.
The woman almost faceplanted. Her face showed her disappointment, ''A-Alright... I will get you a phone.'' She left with a defeated expression.
''Thot...'' Ichiro murmured and closed the door behind him. His room was nothing fancy— it had one small bedroom with a wardrobe and bathroom.
There weren't windows or anything electronic.
Except... One thing.
Ichiro saw a camera in the top corner of the room.
Ichiro ignored it and put his bag on the bed.
He opened it and grabbed two swords.
Somewhere in the Underground City.
There was a room with hundreds of screens, and one of the screens showed the scene of Ichiro's room.
There were hundreds of people inside the room, looking at each screen. There was also a team that was listening to every phone call. If even one person starts talking something about the underground city, they will disconnect the phone call and send a team to annihilate that person.
This is the Heart of the Underground city called Tartarus.
They are the reason why this city is still a secret from the public.
