Outside the study was a huge corridor with a wall on one side and many rectangular windows on the other. A breath of fresh air was felt by two grownups standing at the end of it.

"What do you think of him?" Arlo was asking Vizards about Roy.

"For a boy his age, he is ridiculously talented. His potential is no less than the blessed one back in the forbidden capital. Both have achieved an unprecedented feat and are at the 13th level of body tempering. Back then, the Current Sun wasn't as talented as them. The question is, how did he achieve such success? The one at the capital is born to the strongest Far West has ever known and the holy incarnation of Far West itself. The blessings of the continent and the recourses of the empire were what helped the blessed one reach the mythical level. But this boy… is without parents and has had no one to sport him since a tender age. How did he march up the slope and reach the mythical cliff?" He wasn't one that anyone could surprise. His wisdom surpassed the imperial teacher. He was wise. But Roy had surpassed his expectations. It was quite challenging for him to keep calm in his presence.

Arlo narrowed his eyes at him. "You do know that's not what I am asking about."

Vizards patted his shoulder. "Old friend, your fear is unnecessary. That boy hasn't been possessed by an entity. But his current soul… it is unlike before."

His words only worked to bewilder Arlo even more. "Then… how can you say he's still the one we know?"

"I'm studying the aspect of livings no man or ghost has ever touched. Consider my situation similar to a man that has only ever used his eyes to see, suddenly losing his sight and using a stick to determine his surroundings. He will trip. He will fail. That will happen a hundred times. But from his many mistakes, he will learn. Eventually, he will be able to walk perfectly without his eyes. I know not much about the soul, although I have been studying it for years. Yet, I do know each one has a light unique to it. I call it frequency. The frequency of the boy's soul hasn't changed. But it has increased in both volume and size.

"A newborn's soul is like that of a pea. Once society shapes him and he starts comprehending the laws of the world, confronting the concept of life and death, and absorbing knowledge, the size of his soul increases. Just a year ago, his soul was the size of a 6-year-old. But now… now his soul is way bigger than an adult."

The frequency of the soul changes if two different types of souls merge.

But he noticed no change in the frequency of Roy's soul.

Thus, the suspicions that he had about Roy being possessed by a demon were killed.

If Roy were to hear his words, he would be shocked.

He was from Earth, and Roy Badulf Baldwin was from the Far West.

They were both from a different worlds and lived two different lives.

So… how could their soul be absolutely identical?!!!

Arlo leaned on the rails and looked outwards, seeing a bird taking flight. "You're saying he has experienced an awakening?"

This idea of his was ruthlessly refuted by Vizards.

"No, he's still to awaken. I've checked his inner world. There's no weapon there. He is classless. What he received is more like a transfer of knowledge, like a God had helped enlighten him."

With the word "God" mentioned in his presence, Arlo turned red-eyed. Sarcastically, He chuckled, "… But this land has long been forsaken by Gods. How could it be possible for him to be blessed by one?"

"I do not know. I'm not as you take me as. I don't have answers to all questions." Vizards was a sensible man. He knew his limit. He was not as intelligent as some people made him out to be.

"One thing is for sure, the fact that Far West has created a body for itself, seduced the Emperor, and mated with him to give birth to the Blessed one, and now the appearance of this boy could only mean that disaster is upon us." He sighed after a moment.

Hearing his words, Arlo also felt a headache coming. "Are those of the uncharted land going to make their move?"

"Their "Emperor" is known to be trapped in his castle. No man of our has entered it. Thus, his movements are unknown. His "kings" are also sitting still in their confirmed spot as if patiently waiting for something. Of the "thirteen commanders," a few have left their outpost, their current position unknown. I'm afraid they are plotting against our Empire. Furthermore, a faction has risen to oppose the empire in recent times. What they're called is unknown. But we have named them The Legionaries. They're a troublesome bunch. I'm afraid they'll join hands with the commanders to give us a surprise." Vizards reported the current situation to Arlo.

Arlo gave him a light pat on the shoulder. "Ease up. Out of all, you're thinking of the worst possible situation."

Vizards glanced at him lightly before looking heavenward. "In troubled times, even Gods may fall. Death. It's inevitable. We may delay it, but it will get us someday. We'd be the greediest pigs if we died without passing our legacy to the younger generation. I'm planning to use the adulthood ceremony to scout out my inheritor. You should do the same."

Arlo said, "I already have a person in mind."

"Who is it?" Vizards questioned.

Arlo replied, "My nephew."

"You "celestials" like to give the best to your kin. When will you change and learn to treasure all life?" Vizards complained.

The Truth is, Baldwins wasn't a clan that emerged in these lands.

They weren't from the Far West.

They were from a place far beyond.

That's why while the people of the Far West could only be mages or Knights, only they could be both!

But of course, this truth was known only to a select few!

Arlo laughed heartily. "We're like this; that is why we are Baldwins."
