Just after Roy conquered Death Force, something happened that shocked even him.
"Very good, my child," an archaic voice spoke in his mind, a voice that echoed with ancient knowledge and wisdom. "Although a shortcut was taken, you have shown great fortitude and discipline in mastering Death Force. But don't let it get to you. Remember, with great power comes great responsibility. Use it wisely, or risk falling victim to its corrupting influence."
Roy's amulet vibrated with each word of the voice emanating from it. He reached under his shirt and retrieved it, holding it up in confusion as he tried to make sense of what was happening.
The amulet had been with him since he was a baby, but he had never heard it speak before.
Roy's eyes widened as he turned towards the mysterious voice. "Who are you?" he asked, his voice tinged with curiosity and suspicion.
"I am the one who plotted your transmigration," the mysterious being replied, its tone confident and self-assured.
Roy's heart raced with a mixture of fear and intrigue.
The mysterious being spoke reassuringly, "I can sense that you are a curious person. Feel free to ask me anything you want, and I will do my best to provide you with an answer."
Roy took a deep breath before asking his questions. "I'm curious, why was I chosen? Is it because I read the novel? And who created this system? Also, I want to know how if I am connected to Night and his reincarnations," he asked, his voice shaking slightly as he awaited the mysterious being's response.
The mysterious being replied calmly, "I'm happy to answer your questions. You were chosen because of your lineage, and the system was given to you for the same reason. As for your last question, yes, you indeed share a connection with Night. To be more specific, you are the cause of his demise in ancient times."
Roy was taken aback by the voice's answer. He had never imagined that he could be connected to Night's death in any way. He felt a wave of guilt and confusion wash over him, unsure of how to process this information.
"What do you mean I caused Night's death?" Roy asked, his voice trembling slightly.
The mysterious being remained calm and collected as it explained, "In your first life, Night was someone very important to you. However, due to a tragic turn of events, you became the cause of his demise."
Roy felt a sinking feeling in his stomach as he struggled to come to terms with this revelation. He couldn't believe that he was responsible for the death of someone who was important to him.
"I...I don't know what to say," Roy stammered. "I had no idea that I was connected to Night's death in any way."
The mysterious being interjected, "I believe you have misconstrued my words, young one. The weight of Night's passing need not weigh heavy on your heart. The responsibility for his demise lies not on your shoulders but on those who used you as a bait in their ruthless game of persecution. You need not feel guilty."
A sense of relief washed over Roy, and he felt his heart grow lighter. His eyes glimmered as he was glad to hear that he wasn't a backstabbing traitor after all.
"Thank you for telling me the truth," Roy said, a hint of hope in his voice. "I have an idea of who the killers are."
He knew a part of what happened ten thousand years ago. In the war fought ten thousand years ago, the four gods of nature combined hands to backstab Night. However, he didn't know why they did that. At first, he thought that they were jealous of him. After all, Night was known to be the strongest, but after listening to what the mysterious being inside his pendant/amulet said, Roy was certain that there was more to it.
A: He was related to Night's Death.
B: He was someone important to Night in his first life. Otherwise, the gods wouldn't have used him as bait.
C: That meant he was related to the war that happened 10000 years ago!
Roy found himself lost in a labyrinthine maze of mystery as he delved deeper into the truth. Every new revelation seemed to add more layers of complexity to the already intricate web of secrets he was uncovering and making his own identity complicated.
Roy continued, "But can you tell me what kind of bait I was? And why was I used as bait?"
The mysterious being replied, "The explanation is too complex to delve into right now. But I can guide you to where you can find the answers. Go to the awakening platform of the empire to awaken. We will meet face to face then." It said as the voice died out and the amulet stopped vibrating.
Roy nodded in understanding, grateful for the mysterious being's guidance. He knew that he had a lot of work to do if he wanted to make amends for his first life's actions, find out the truth about Night's death, and step past the clouds of mystery surrounding the truth about himself.
"I'll go to the awakening platform then," Roy said resolutely.
Roy waited patiently where he stood, the wind whipping through his hair as he scanned the horizon. It wasn't long before the magical horse carriage arrived, pulling up beside him with a graceful elegance. He climbed aboard, taking a deep breath as he settled into the cozy interior, sitting between his wife and Delilah.
With his wife on one side and Delilah on the other, they both immediately began vying for his attention, each one squeezing his hands reassuringly and massaging his left and right arms, respectively.
Roy thought: Ahh, it feels good to be loved!
Roy couldn't help but smile, feeling incredibly fortunate to have not just one, but two women who cared about him so deeply. It was moments like this that made him truly appreciate the love that surrounded him.
