"Its official name is Joker's tent because if the tent gets attacked while you are inside, you will get pranked," Arlo explained to Roy.
"How severely?" Roy asked him again.
"At best, you will be pushed out of the pocket dimensions and face whatever attacked the tent. At worst, you will be randomly teleported. One time, I was forced into uncharted land by it; the other time, I was teleported inside a sewer."
Arlo shivered, remembering what he had gone through thanks to this menace.
"Doesn't that mean we are under the threat of getting pranked?!"
Roy's eyes widened, and he rushed to get out after shouting for everyone to get out.
Why wouldn't he do that?
They were in an icy, cold land, a place full of monsters.
Who knows when one will appear and headbutt the tent and fuck them over?
Arlo's laughter was heard as Arlo's Aura suppressed Roy's shout, cancelling it.
No one was alerted.
Roy looked back and saw him throwing his head back and laughing.
His eyes twitched as he realized Arlo hid something from him, making him look like a fool.
"Don't worry; I have learned from my mistakes and installed sensors around it. I would be notified the moment a monster headed our way." Arlo was truly a genius. After getting wrecked by his runic item a few times, he found a permanent solution to the problem.
"I see," Roy said through gritted teeth.
Suddenly, a pleasant scent filled the air. This scent entered Roy's nostrils, enticing him to sniff the air again and again, and he turned around to see his two maids coming out of the adjacent room dressed beautifully.
A bit of their skin was exposed, but most of it was hidden.
They were dressed in a way that would make a man desperate to know what was underneath.
"So beautiful." Roy thought as he looked at the two maids that walked up to him with a smile while holding each other's hands.
'It seems like their friendship deepened after they took a shower together.'
Delilah had applied makeup on herself and Amelia, and now they were both the center of attention.
"How do we look, master?" Amelia asked.
"Spectacular!" Roy praised.
"Let's eat and rest." Arlo said, "Six hours later, we will be on our way."
With that, the two maids went into the kitchen to prepare a meal for everyone.
…
"Guys, come here."
Roy beckoned the two twins his way after what was supposed to be breakfast but happened to become dinner.
'What does he want?' They walked up to him, curious why he had called for them.
"Sit down."
After asking them to take a seat, he pulled out multiple books and sheets.
One was borrowed from Arlo. Roy had asked, and so Arlo gave it to him without asking for anything in return. What a good uncle he was!
It was called Duplicator, a very rare level 0 spell, with a design so complex that although Roy knew it existed as the basic cheat of the protagonist and had seen the author posting it on his discord, he couldn't draw it out.
All but one were handed over to Aydin.
"What's this for?" Aydin received and eyed the book, and instantly his eyes widened as he realized this was what he had been seeking.
But why was Roy so easily fulfilling his wish?
"You were from a clan of nobles. I bet you already know what is what. Learn them one by one. From left to right, they are acid splash, duplicator, and finally, spell boost. Start from the easiest and then form the hardest one in your magic sea." Roy advised the boy.
He knew that Aydin would awaken fire powers in the future. These three rank-0 spells were best for him. Although forming a duplicator would mean he wouldn't be able to have more than three rank-0 spells as a Fake Mage, it would prove to be really helpful when he ascends to the ranks of mages.
'Until then, I will act as his umbrella. And if I can't, I will "force" Arlo to become his guardian.'
Roy looked at Aydin with a calculative look as he planned his future.
"Okay, I will. But what about her?" Aydin tugged Maya's sleeve, pulling her out of her daze and closer.
"She will learn True Magic." Roy gave the last sheet to Maya.
"True Magic?" The twins blinked their eyes at him in confusion. "What is that?"
Only they were in the living room, loosely illuminated by a lamp.
Half of Roy's face could be seen; the other half was hidden by the shadows.
But they could imagine him smiling from ear to ear.
He flashed them a smile and spoke.
"It's Ninam's True Magic."
According to what he knew, Maya would become the Lunar Maiden, a witch of ice, and she would be granted profound abilities related to ice and snow.
A witch of ice was strong, ridiculously so, but only in the North.
In hot places, such a witch gains the weakness debuff, and they are weak against fire and fire-type opponents.
'Hopefully, Ninam's True magic will help her overcome her weaknesses.'
Thus, Roy gave it to her without hesitation.
"This is the legendary hero's magic spell model?!" Aydin exclaimed, his voice quivering. His expression was a mixture between disbelief and excitement.
Maya was in no way feeling better than he was.
Her body was trembling with excitement, and she held it like a priest holding a bible.
"Yeah, it is, and now your sister will learn it."
Roy answered clearly, but in this situation, it made no sense at all.
'Is this some cabbage on the roadside stall that can be picked up for a few coppers? Heck, he isn't even treating it like that. He is treating it like a stalk of grass that can be given away for free!'
'Just how can he be so selfless and hand over a rare treasure to his slave?'
Both the twins were shocked, seeing that a saint did exist.
"We just met a few days ago. Why are you being so good to us? Do you want to purchase our loyalty with this?" Aydin was seemingly not convinced by his selfless attitude, and he believed that Roy had ulterior motives behind helping them like this.
