An Ogre Skeleton approached the marshlands as it casually swatted aside the Lizardmen that sought to defend their territory.
Under the commands of the Lich, it began to walk towards the healing figure of Ying, intending to kill him. The Ogres ranged from a height of three metres to six metres, their strength depicted by their size.
But the one intruding into the marshlands was a whopping eight metres tall. It was an Ogre King that the Lich had subdued and transformed into an elite among its skeleton army.
It was an A-Rank Monster skeleton that unleashed a deathly aura around itself, erecting a domain that killed any living being that entered within.
Kieee!
The Lizardmen that fought it collapsed into pools of their own blood as their bodies rotted under the deathly miasma it released. Eventually, they transformed into undead creatures that followed its command.
Kiek!
The Ogre King pointed at Ying with its large axe and immediately, the dozens of Lizardmen skeletons under its command rushed at him.
"Shit!" Ying sensed their approach as he evaded in a hurry, heading deeper into the marshland. But unlike before, his speed was slow, for he was still defending against the deathly energy invading his being.
By diverting part of his attention to evasion, he caused his recovery to slow down, sensing the deathly energy begin to melt his body once again.
'This won't do.' He focused the healing energy in his eyes to recover them first as he looked around, noticing a skyscraper nearby as he rushed at it, ignoring the muscles of his hand melting in response as he gushed mana into his blade and bellowed, "Crumble!"
Skill—Orc-Dragon Claw!
A blade beam five times stronger than before slammed into the building and cleaved through its ground floor. He had attacked in such a way that the walls on one side crumbled first, causing the building to tilt that way.
'Alright, I need to time myself.' Ying thought as he slowed down, sensing the Lizardmen skeletons and Ogre King rush at him, watching the building gradually fall towards him, accelerating in its approach.
By the time the Ogre King realised his plan, it was too late as Ying focused all his mana on his Orc-Dragon Skin, hardening it to the limit as he condensed a pair of claws to unleash the Orc-Dragon Claw, cutting apart the piece of wall slamming his way.
Boom!
The murky waters of the marshland spilled out, forming a wave that washed over the Ogre Skeletons marching into the city.
Awoo!
Plenty of Lizardmen had been caught under the collapse, for the skyscraper had more than forty floors. So, its impact area was pretty wide.
The blood of the Lizardmen layered the marshland when they were absorbed in a certain direction, following which a figure blasted out of the rubble. It was Ying, his figure enveloped by the bloody mist like a cocoon.
His body had fully healed from the deathly miasma, but unlike before, his mind was cool, untensed.
Fear!
The surrounding lizardmen turned tail and ran away from him.
Bang!
The Ogre King blasted out of the rubble, munching on the bones of the destroyed lizardmen as the damage in its bones healed. But, it had just gotten out when it stared at the figure of Ying before it in alarm, struggling when its head was grabbed by a massive draconic hand that shattered it instantly.
[Orc-Dragon Soul Fusion: 100%]
"I have revived," Ying muttered calmly as he looked around, sensing ideas churn in his mind at a terrifying pace, staring at everything from a monetary perspective. He closed his eyes, calmly orienting his mentality as he muttered, "So, there is a different Earth out there. And this individual, Compass, is the source of the Orc-Dragon Soul."
There was no longer the voice of the Orc-Dragon Soul speaking in his mind, for he had fully fused with it, obtaining the final batch of information stored in its core by the Secondary System.
His eyes darted to the side, observing a gaze from a Lizardman that was running away. Even though its eyes were facing the other side, he felt a gaze from it. 'I see, so that's what a System is.'
Having suffered twice, the Secondary System had changed its approach, having already placed all information regarding Systems within the Orc-Dragon Soul. This meant that Ying was now aware of the existence of the Hunter System and the Dungeon Monster System.
Instead of trying to steer a blind vessel to its objective, the Secondary System gave Ying eyes, making him aware of everything that was happening so that he could prepare against them on his own. After all, only in that way would it truly be able to take advantage of Compass Carburettor's trait of schemes.
The greater the time he had, the more intricate and foolproof Compass Carburettor's schemes would become. So, for that to happen, Ying had to first become aware of all the schemes in place.
After all, the goal of the Secondary System wasn't a hundred percent Orc-Dragon Soul Fusion. No, that was just the first step of its plan. Its goal was to cultivate another Compass Carburettor by making him scheme against the Grade 2 Systems and sharpen his basic tools to eventually surpass the original.
'I'm somewhat confused, but first thing's first.' Ying stared at the Bone Dragon's head, "I need to prevent that bastard from coming out."
"And with my current strength, it's possible." He took in a deep breath before his figure flickered and vanished. The aura emanating from him was now on the level of an S-Rank Hunter, which was what a hundred percent Soul Fusion would net him.
"Charge! Kill them!" The Hunters had arrived by now as they engaged the Ogre skeletons, leading to a bloody battle.
The A-Rank Hunters took the lead and charged deep into enemy lines, fighting against the A-Rank Hunter skeletons.
Guoong!
The head of the Bone Dragon had fully peaked out by now as its eyes lit up with ghostly flames that danced eerily. It opened its mouth and began to condense a sphere of deathly energy within, preparing to unleash dragon breath.
"Shit…" An A-Rank Hunter that had taken the lead, called a prodigy slowed down his attacks, staring at the dragon breath being prepared as he observed the rows upon rows of skeletons between the two. Even if he charged forth with all his strength, he wouldn't make it in time to interrupt the bone Dragon, "Fuck!"
"Is this the downfall of our country…"
His sentence wasn't finished when suddenly, a figure slammed into the Bone Dragon from the skies, cracking its skull as a figure appeared before it, emanating a bloodthirsty aura as it morphed, transforming into a behemoth that stared down the opponent. Following that, it opened its mouth and unleashed a terrifying attack.
Skill—Orc-Dragon Roar!
Just a heads up: I'm beginning the adaptation of IHS in comic form (Will try the first two chapters and see how it turns out.)
