"Your future depends on your answer."
'Shit!' At Gahrat's words, Slayer felt a tad tense. After all, if possible, he wished to remain on the fence about everything and somehow mitigate the situation and maintain the status quo.
After all, even after what he did, Zaira wouldn't bother fighting him herself. The most she would do was determine his energy traces and block them all from the System World. That way, he wouldn't be able to use the System World to travel to other worlds.
Just this would ensure he would remain a turtle of the Fantasy World. And, no matter what he did beyond that, he would never be a threat.
After all, irrespective of how vast the Fantasy World was or how strong its development was, it would never be a threat to Zaira. Simply, take any Immortal World as an example. Each and every single one of them consisted of multiple Realms, with each being as vast as the Fantasy World, if not bigger.
Therefore, Slayer wouldn't pose a threat to her, not now, never in the future. Currently, if he uses all his power, his strength would be on par with a Grade 3 System. Therefore, just to not make another enemy on the level of a Grade 3 System, Zaira would stall their conflict, at least until she destroyed a few Genre Representatives, at least an enough amount until making an enemy out of Slayer wasn't troublesome.
And even Slayer was counting on that to buy time. After all, he had the confidence in growing strong enough by then, to a level capable of threatening Zaira to ensure she wouldn't ever target him.
Even when she created that new world to threaten him, Slayer was internally giddy. After all, he had the means to swallow that world and strengthen the foundation of his world better. It was just that he didn't wish to reveal the method to Zaira and was waiting for the opportune time to take action.
Unfortunately for him, Compass Carburettor consumed the entire world, displaying the fearsome might he had obtained already. If it was just Compass Carburettor, then it would have been impossible for him to devour the entire world.
At most, devouring a mountain or two at a time was his limit. But with Gahrat, Domino Plottopia, and the Relic strengthening him, he was able to do so.
It had to be noted that Domino Plottopia had been devouring System fragments in Hunter Worlds nonstop, having already taken over an entire world. As for Gahrat, she had already sowed the seeds to change multiple Cultivation Worlds.
So, even though it had only been two years since the split, their individual growth was alarming. And when combined, they resulted in a beneficial culmination and amplification of abilities, resulting in an exponential strengthening of all their powers.
So of course, Slayer was perplexed. After all, the moment he takes action, his stance on the matter would be displayed for all parties to see.
If he were to side with Zaira, he would be making an enemy of the Main Character and Arnark, the first Main Character who was obviously still alive and active through the Main Character System fragments, making his own plans in various worlds out there.
It would mean there would be a constant threat, one that would prevent Slayer from having a good night's rest. It was especially since he understood Arnark's nature, one that embodied the Main Character's traits to such a level that making the impossible possible was as natural as breathing to him.
There was a good chance that he might find everything he worked on until now to be taken control of by Arnark in the future. The possibility existed since Arnark was a denizen of the Fantasy World and was where he became the Main Character.
Moreover, it would also mean that he would be making enemies of Immortal, Magister, etc. And that was bad news.
The only reason Zaira could develop despite being at war with them was thanks to the fact that her enemies didn't possess the means that would prevent a System from reviving in the System World.
But if he pissed off the Genre Representatives, Mystique would take action. After all, the current Fantasy World was leaning the closest to the genre that Mystique represented, 'And I don't want that. This freak has grown stronger despite being targeted by the Systems nonstop.'
The number of worlds under Mystique was one of the lowest among the Genre Representatives, only better than the weakest of Genre Representatives with single-digit worlds. But, every single world under Mystique was eerie.
Eerie!
That was the best explanation one could give them. And, Systems have repeatedly failed to be born from such worlds. Even if they did, they for some reason lose their minds and turned into pure beings of energy, becoming dangerous.
To date, they were sealed in a corner of the System World by Zaira, the same for every single System attacked by Mystique.
So, joining Zaira's side had consequences that he couldn't handle.
But similarly, joining the Main Character too was equally dangerous. After all, Zaira was aware that he possessed the same power as her, having obtained it through the Magic Tools that Magister had created for his experiment at the start.
Other than the tiara that changed her, there were five Magic Tools that Magister had created, out of which she had only consumed one. It was Slayer that had consumed the rest, managing to eventually create the same power as her—one that allowed him to create Systems out of Mental Energy.
To date, he never actively went against the Systems, having killed more Main Characters than the Systems themselves. Only by maintaining such a hazy stance was he able to evade her wrath to date.
But the moment he expresses his stance of joining the Main Character, Zaira would consider him the top priority to get rid of, on a level above the Main Character. For, he had her power.
His existence alone was a blow to her monopoly of the System's power. Therefore, Zaira would use all her power to destroy the Fantasy World and kill him.
And against her wrath, the Genre Representatives would do nothing, after all, they were unable to kill any system, including the fearsome Mystique.
'This is why I don't like such situations.' Slayer felt a headache, for, at the moment, the battlefield was silent as both opposing forces stopped fighting, placing their attention on Slayer.
It was apparent that his decision would change the status quo forever, irrespective of the side he joins.
