I Hate Systemschapter 665.30: in my past (part 30)

"Fight!"

"Fight!"

"Kill!"

The roars of the audience erupted as they were seated in what appeared to be a colosseum. The battleground spanned a radius of thirty metres, enough space to duke it out freely.

Currently, standing on either side of the battleground were the competitors, both aged fifteen, originating from the same Clan. Seated at the front in the audience seats were those from the same Clan, followed by the interested parties from allied or rivalling Clans.

They had all arrived to take part in this annual festival to determine the most talented Tamer among their younger generation.

Hyunna was an ambitious boy, having been training until he spat blood every day to increase his Tamer powers, managing to become an Expert Tamer. But, it seemed he had hit his limit as no matter how much he trained beyond this, he never seemed to be getting stronger.

Due to that, he had been mocked by his peers, especially since his father was the Clan Head, one of the strongest Tamers ever produced by their Clan, a Grandmaster Tamer that was on the cusp of becoming a Pseudo-Saint.

So, lacking talent as the son of such a character made him a laughingstock. To make them shut up, Hyunna joined the annual festival to showcase his skills. Unfortunately, his luck was horrible, having to face Giovana, the prodigy of their Clan, one that had already become a Master Tamer at this age.

As it was a random draw, he couldn't even complain, since everyone bore witness to it.

Having to face such an opponent right from the get-go made him curse his luck, glaring at Giovana, 'But, this is what it is. I'll defeat you and prove to everyone that I'm not trash.'

"Begin!" The Clan Head announced aloud as immediately after, Hyunna waved his hand, causing his Tamed Beasts to jump to the front.

For this festival, each Tamer could register five of their Tamed Beasts that would participate in the battle. Victory or defeat would depend upon one side surrendering or losing all their Tamed Beasts. So, it was a vicious battle.

Hyunna liked Magic Beasts, and hence typically tamed them. So, all his five Tamed Beasts were Magic Beasts. But, when they appeared in the battleground, the crowd snickered, for his Magic Beasts weren't anything special.

Rabid Dog, Wild Wolf, and Street Rat; his Magic Beasts were from these three species, nothing special with any of them. Even a normal Tamer would avoid taming such Magic Beasts which was only a drain on their mind and taming ability.

The audience wasn't able to control their laughter any longer, causing a ruckus among the crowd as Hyunna seethed in rage. The stronger the Magic Beast, the harder it was to tame it. And, since his Magic Beasts were the most basic of the bunch, anyone could casually tame them.

Moreover, they were so easy to tame that even if they were under his control, an opponent still had the chance to tame them too. That's why such Magic Beasts were called rejects among the Tamers.

The fact that Hyunna had tamed them spoke volumes about his talent.

"Pfft!" Giovana burst into laughter as he waved his hand, only bringing forth one Tamed Beast, startling the crowd when he did.

Arriving in the battleground with a flicker was a human. The reason the crowd was shocked was that he was Human Master Lightning Warrior. They were not only rare but terrifying, having slaughtered a lot of Demons in the war.

So, the fact that Giovana had tamed someone of such a calibre proved his terrifying talent. After all, those that wielded the element of Lightning were the hardest to tame. Even a Grandmaster Tamer might struggle to tame a Master Lightning Warrior.

But Giovana had done so as a mere Master.

The Lightning Master Warrior snorted once as his figure flickered. And when he stopped, all five Tamed Beasts of Hyunna were on the ground as charred corpses, diced into two.

The battle was done in a second as Hyunna coughed out blood, fainting in the process as all his Tamed Beasts died. The last he heard was the crowd's laughter.

"Where…am I?" Hyunna woke up, feeling tired as he looked around, noticing that he was in an infirmary of sorts. Standing next to him was a Birdmen Doctor, wearing a mask and an oversized bag for a dress, startling him.

"You needn't fear. I don't like eating Demon brains. They aren't tasty." The Birdmen Doctor opened his beak and let out a chirpy laugh upon seeing Hyunna's guarded expression.

He then spoke, "I've healed you already. So, you can get lost now."

"The Clan Head has summoned your presence to the study."

"Thank you, Uncle Bird." Hyunna bowed in response and rushed out of the infirmary. Uncle Bird was his father's tamed Beast, a Grandmaster Doctor from the Birdmen Race, someone that took care of treating all injuries.

And, having been beaten up by his peers on a daily basis, he had been treated by Uncle Bird plenty of times. Though, his appearance always terrified Hyunna.

Staring at his rushing figure, the Birdmen Doctor sighed, "I'm only a Doctor. Why is everyone afraid of me? I cannot even harm the weakest among them with my strength."

There wasn't anyone to reply to him though as all that faced him after that was an awkward silence. As for Hyunna, he was already rushing through the corridor when suddenly, something tripped him, causing him to collapse to the ground and slide a bit forward.

"What the…?" He turned around, staring at a Demon that let out a devilish smile, snickering as he walked away.

As he was summoned by his father, he couldn't waste time as Hyunna controlled himself, entering the study to see his father seated there.

And upon seeing him, the Clan Head couldn't help but express disappointment, uttering coldly, "I believe I've given you enough time to prove yourself. Since you failed, you'll be married to the Felasi Clan's seventh daughter. The engagement will happen in a few hours, so get ready."

He then motioned for Hyunna to leave, not even giving him any time to process the information or protest it.

'Is this how my life ends?' Hyunna felt like his world was crumbling down, for the Felasi Clan's seventh daughter was a deranged psycho that loved to bathe in the blood of her opponents and at times even targeted her own people.

But, just as he felt like his life was about to take a step into hell, a mysterious entity appeared before him, sporting a long neck whose hair resembled tentacles, dancing around eerily as its over hundred eyes stared at him, revealing a smile.
