I Hate Systemschapter 623: i know why i’m called regriel

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Thunderous sounds resounded as a group of Goblins chased after Tehela, shouting from time to time.

"That's princess Tehela! Capture her! She must know about the Shaman King!"

The Goblins too wondered the reason they still maintained their evolution despite losing their Shaman King, realising that all answers would be discovered through Tehela, for it was in search of her did the Shaman King leave his kingdom behind.

Therefore, even though she had become a Human, they were still able to track her down. After all, she was a human only in appearance alone. She was in essence still a Titan.

"Huff! Puff! Dammit, they're persistent!" Tehela grunted in exhaustion, trying her best to absorb as much of the ambient mana as possible to replenish her reserves. "No matter where I teleport, they've managed to follow us."

"These aren't your everyday Goblins." Regriel said in all seriousness, being carried by Tehela on one hand, "They probably became part of a secret organisation. Otherwise, there's no way they would be able to be on our tracks for so long, especially since we've been teleporting. There are multiple Space Mages involved."

As a Cartographer, Regriel's body was as weak as an average human. And in this high-speed chase, he of course couldn't keep up. Therefore, Tehela was carrying him. As a Titan, carrying a human wasn't even an effort, despite still being in her human form.

Similarly held in her other hand was Gehera, now an adult, who expressed her worry while looking at their chasers, "Why…are they chasing after us?"

"I'm afraid the fault lies in me." Tehela sighed, apologising, "I'm sorry, Gehera, Regriel. I've involved the both of you in something dangerous."

"Haah!" Regriel massaged his forehead as suddenly, his eyes lit up with runes, causing the entire region to erupt with a dense stream of information, absorbing everything as he analysed all the details, muttering in the end, "No wonder. It wouldn't make sense otherwise."

"What do you mean?" Tehela asked in shock, watching Regriel act differently all of a sudden.

"It's been a while…" Regriel stared at the sky, facing a location where there was nothing. But a couple of seconds later, a figure appeared, "Slayer."

'W-Who is that?' Tehela stopped running, struggling to breathe as her mana failed to listen to her commands. She wasn't even able to move, feeling an oppressive pressure slamming down on her, preventing her from budging an inch.

"Mom! What happened to you?" Gehera asked in alarm, watching her mother's face paling all of a sudden as she stopped running.

It was obviously done by Slayer. But he didn't focus on Tehela or Gehera, instead staring at Slayer, "Why…did you go against me, Regriel?"

"I had planned to support your rise to become a God."

"Stop lying." Regriel snorted in disdain, "Why do you bullshit even when there's no reason for you to do so?"

"Hmm, how come people buy when he does the same but retort like this when it's from me?" Slayer muttered, scratching his cheeks. He then looked at Regriel, "Now, I'm curious. What do you think I had planned originally?"

"Exactly this situation," Regriel said, watching Slayer's face beam into a cheerful smile. "You knew that my mind would change once I become a human. And under influence of a human heart, I'll take a sequence of decisions that leads to the current situation."

"So, you knew." Slayer muttered, "Or is that why you picked the Cartographer profession? There has never been a God birthed from this profession, so I was thinking you only selected it because it piqued your interest. It seems there's more to it."

'So, Gehera is indeed his objective from the start.' Regriel sighed, 'I had been devising plans to safeguard her, but he ended up discovering us in the end anyway. Twenty years is too little a time to plan against the ruler of this world.'

"Regriel…what is happening?" Tehela muttered in shock, "Who is that…? What plan? What decision?"

"You said the Goblins are chasing because of you, right?" Regriel sighed as he slowly extricated himself from her hold, gently poking a couple of needles in both her and Gehera, allowing them to move once again.

They were actually totems in the shape of needles, something he had prepared using his knowledge as the Shaman King.

'He still has something like this up his sleeve?' Slayer was pleasantly surprised, laughing aloud, "As expected, you're interesting."

"Stand behind me," Regriel whispered to Tehela, "And be prepared to teleport Gehera out of this place. A location would pop up in your mind soon."

He then observed all the Goblins arrive at a halt thirty metres away from them as Slayer forbade them from interfering. With him here, escape was impossible for them anyway.

Suddenly, Regriel broke into a smile as a piece of information appeared in his mind, startling Slayer as he said, "I now understand why you named me Regriel after giving me this new form."

"You want to be the champion of fate that wins against these…Devils, am I right?" He grinned, "And, Regriel just so happens to be the first of these…Devils that are supposed to die in your conquest."

The place they were at was a forest stretch right before the Calore Plains. Regriel noticed caravan tracks far away, smiling as he didn't hint at them, 'I'll leave my daughter to you, Compass Carburettor.'

Suddenly, the image of a certain city flashed in Tehela's mind as she hurriedly activated her Pseudo-Relic, intending to transport Gehera away.

But of course, Slayer wouldn't allow her to teleport away, intending to lock the space when Regriel took out a totem and stabbed it into the ground, causing cryptic runes to flash around, preventing anyone from tracking the spatial mana traces and follow after Gehera, including Slayer.

"You…damn!" Slayer expressed anger for the first time as his figure flashed, intending to grab Gehera before she was teleported away, shocked when his body paused abruptly.

And standing before him was Regriel, grinning as his clothes slowly tore off, revealing the tattoos that flashed all over his body.

"You…!" Slayer was shocked.

"Hehe!" Regriel laughed, "Unlike what the Human race thinks, Cartographer is the profession with the greatest potential. Unfortunately, none of you can ever tap into its secrets."

His body ruptured, transforming into a totem as a mausoleum began to form around Slayer, trapping him within as Regriel grinned, "You're not the Main Character."

"So, stop imitating Compass already, will you? It's cringe."

Ruin of Amagoth!
