"Thank you, Gallo."
"I'm grateful for your help, Gallo."
"You're the best, Gallo."
"Gallo, I love you."
"Thank you for protecting us all along, Gallo."
Shouts resounded from all over the battlefield. And surprisingly, it wasn't just from the Gaider Realm's side. Even the enemies began to give their thanks. After all, they were those from the enemies that were lying wounded nearby when Gallo was running away as usual.
And without so much as a thought, he had healed them. Hence, they were grateful to him. Unfortunately, they only formed a minority and couldn't protect him from harm in the end.
"Director…" Gallo said weakly, staring at Compass Carburettor, "Thank you. I was happy during the time I spent at the Academy. You're an incredible person."
"You're hearing this…?" Compass Carburettor muttered softly, "This is all thanks to your efforts. You've earned so many friends."
"Aren't I awesome…?" Gallo smirked as his body turned into ash immediately after. The Reality Marble whirred in response, using its innate nature to revive him. But suddenly, it cracked mysteriously, shattering in response as the entire army returned to the battlefield.
As its power failed to revive him, the Reality Marble had short-circuited, resulting in it shattering into countless fragments before vanishing.
Compass Carburettor closed his eyes, taking in deep breaths before slowly getting up, stating with a mild tone, "Only four left. Ranze, Xuer, Bunuela, and the Blazing Sun Clan Leader, I'll leave the three Evil Spirits to you."
He then gazed at the army before him, stating coldly, "I'll warn everyone in advance. If you don't wish to die futile deaths, then retreat. Let your commander fight with me."
"Heh, I recognise you. You're our top target." A powerhouse from the Arena Realm strut forward, grinning as he brimmed with killing intent, "If you're killed, this long war would end soon after."
"Now that you've shown yourself, we, the pinnacle champions from the Arena Realm can finally let loose." He cackled.
"Don't say that I didn't warn you." Compass Carburettor looked around, taking in a second glance of the opposing army, engraving it to memory of the thoughts they had, the emotions they expressed, and the fighting spirits they exuded.
The shade of his eyes morphed as the various information in their Mental Streams resounded in his mind, sparkling from time to time.
"Heh, without your healer, your top experts would begin dying one after another. In the past three months, we've already probed through your entire strength. It's not enough against us." The pinnacle powerhouse grinned, "We have an army of experts ten times yours, and an army of powerhouses thirty times yours in numbers. What do you have in return to face us?"
"Me."
Compass Carburettor stated as immediately after, the world darkened, the rapid change in scenery shocking them.
"I-Impossible? What are you? No! This isn't possible! It must be an illusion!" The pinnacle expert screamed in shock upon staring at the dark sky of the night that was gradually dotted with stars, noticing the shimmering radiance from one of them gradually increasing in size.
Soon after, it was apparent that the star itself was coming at them.
The pinnacle powerhouse stared ahead in fear, noticing that the figures of Compass Carburettor and everyone else from the Gaider Realm had vanished, leaving just those from the opposing army in this darkened space.
"Ah…ahh…ahhh!" Realisation dawned on the people from the army as they stared at the star that was gradually getting bigger in size, causing the night sky to slowly brighten in response.
And soon enough, it was before their face, blotting out the sky, emitting enough heat to cause most of the experts to faint immediately, with the powerhouses barely holding on, losing all hope, preparing for their doom.
"Fuck! This is damned!" A powerhouse resigned himself to fate, "To think what we faced wasn't a cultivator, but a…"
"God!"
Boom!
Suddenly, an intense bolt of lightning, hundred metres in width pierced through the night sky, impacting the descending star, slashing it in half before piercing through the other side, instantly causing the sky to crack and shatter.
In the next moment, everyone found themselves on the battlefield before Tura City once again, with flames covering the bodies of most as their clothes had caught onto fire.
Some rolled on the ground in reflex, using the blood-covered ground to douse the flames covering their bodies. While others forgot the fact that there was a fire on them, having lost their minds from despair.
Some that still maintained their senses quickly took action, using their myriad abilities to put out the flames. Most of the army was still alive as only a small portion had died in the flames.
The star vanished before it could slam into them. So, those that had endured the heat managed to survive. But despite everything, the same thought flashed in the minds of everyone.
The war had concluded!
Their side lost their fighting spirit, gradually beginning to retreat.
As for the cause that had almost dropped a star onto them, Compass Carburettor covered himself with the Mental Energy Body Layer, taking off to the skies as he glared at the figure that had revealed herself at some point in time.
It was a middle-aged woman, sporting auburn hair and a pair of horns jutting out of her forehead, resembling antlers. It was one of Straxia's Martial Spirits, having been the source of the majestic bolt of lighting that managed to pierce through the Reality Marble.
"Your real self isn't going to show up?" Compass Carburettor stated coldly.
"Yes, only if your real self shows up." The middle-aged woman stated plainly. She then furrowed her brows, changing her sight as she sensed the luck values of the Gaider Realm itself, smiling immediately, "The Main Character's luck is barely half its original now."
"Lota, Ikun, and Morlacle, continue with your actions. Kill the Main Character's companions. That'll bring his luck to less than a quarter." She commented, "I'll keep him at bay until then."
"Compass! Something's off about her. This feeling…this isn't her!" Standing within a Reality Marble, Rhizen shouted as the tiny Spydragon carrying it hovered beside his ear, allowing his voice to reach Compass Carburettor.
"I see, it makes sense now." His eyes lit up as Compass Carburettor stared at the middle-aged woman, "So from the start, everything's been a sham. You've never intended to play things by the book…"
"Coincidental Luck…or should I more appropriately call you…"
"The Luck System?"
